Summary: superb movie
Review: put down 4 stars but I really wanted to put down 4.5. this is an excellent movies, and while the fighting scenes in this movie arent as plentiful as most martial arts movies its the acting of of brigitte Lin and the other supporting stars made up for it. the fight scenes i must comment on though. they were extremely superb, clean, crisp, just totally awesome. the choice of screen shots were excellent. this is one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life and would highly recommend it to anyone starting out in the martial arts genre.

Summary: Great fighting
Review: The fighting in this movie is top notch, from begining to end you will be blown away by the fighting and believe it or not the special effects. The way she lights people on fire is done very well for an older movie. Brigitte Lin is my favorite and she is great in this film as always. This is not her best acting work, but I believe it is her best fighting work. If you have never seen her before watch Bride with white Hair the best HK movie ever, if you are a fan like me buy this movie you won't be disapointed.

Summary: A Solid, Fun Title
Review: This is a movie to get after you've seen Yuen Wo Ping's "Iron Monkey." This is a solid effort, but not as essential as "Iron Monkey" or Lin's "Bride With White Hair." Ms. Lin is wonderful as usual. Here she plays a power-mad prince's assassin, whose character grows more sympathetic as the film progresses. Solid action, with a fair amount of wire work (I like that). The humor's a bit broad, but not as distracting as in other HK films.

Note: I believe the correct name of the film is "Fire Dragon." Trust me, there is no child fighter in this flick, on fire or otherwise (and isn't that a good thing?).

Summary: Amazing Beginning!
Review: This is the movie I show to people who think the Matrix is so cool etc..I tell them there is more action in the first 5 minutes of this flick than most movies combined. They always nod "yes". Then you get the whole thing..lots of wire fu,bits of comedy, and of course, the beautiful Brigitte Lin. A must for swordplay fantasy lovers.

Summary: Awesome movie!
Review: This movie is getting harder to find, so get your copy as soon as possible. The fire scenes, especially in the beginning, will blow you away. Brigitte Lin is in top form here and the fights leave you in amazement wondering how they did it. Brigitte throws fire from her hands and her sword flames up as she unsheathes it. She strikes a stance with her hand on fire. Just plain awesome. Brigitte exudes sex appeal, both in her fight scenes and her more serious role. If you're a fan of martial arts/sword movies, you MUST own this movie. ... Don't let this one escape your collection, you'd be missing out.

Summary: Fire Dragon
Review: Very good movie! I bought it after reading some reviews and was real curious about the action. The fight scenes are quite good (not as many as I'd like) the story was pretty decent too! I chuckled at a few scenes. Decent humor. The special effects with the fire were done very well and the fight with snow at the very end was amazing! Not too many people know about this gem! I'm glad this movie is in my collection!

Summary: Why do you look like a defeated c_ck?
Review: Woo-Ping (Matrix, Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Iron Monkey, Once Upon a Time in China I & II, Magnificent Butcher, Born Invincible, Drunken Master, etc, etc) directs this fun movie. However, it does not truly feel like his work. The fight scenes are fabulous, the sword fights are wonderful, and the action is very fast pace. Nevertheless, the special effects didn't quit feel like his work, and I'll get into that more below.

Fire Dragon is another Brigitte Lin movie based on flying and magic. However, I did like the fact the movie showcased her actually fighting abilities more then in other movies she is better known for (Bride with White Hair 1 & 2, Swordsman 2). I still think Dragon Inn is my favorite movie Lin appears in, however she is showcased more in this movie then Dragon Inn. Fire Dragon had every chance to be better then Dragon Inn, but two ingredients threw it off track.

The first was the over use of explosions. This was the feel I alluded to earlier in terms of a movie Woo-Ping directs. Woo-Ping utilizes his superior choreography to place his movies head and shoulders above everyone else in the industry; however, this movie had explosions all over the place. Every bottle of wine exploded when contact was made with it in any form. The last fight scene was out of control, and just over done. It felt like a made for USA movie starring Dolph Lundgren.

The second thing this movie was missing is a costar for the very talented Lin. Lin is wonderful, and I take nothing away from her performance in this movie, to be quit honest, it was awesome. Nevertheless, the movie required her to be the star, and depended on her so greatly; it took away from the movie. The other two guys in the movie did what they could to try and keep up, and some scenes were nice, however, the fact Dragon Inn had the great Donnie Yen as the villain said it all. When Yen bring in aura, shear quickness and ability with out speeding up the scene is amazing. Yen fights two times in that movie, but the fact you know when he does the "you know what" is going to hit the fan adds an element this movie was missing.

In conclusion, I liked this movie and enjoyed it a lot. I was a little disappointed that it had a chance to be placed in the top 5 martial arts movies of the 90's (Iron Monkey, Tai Chi Master, Drunken Master 2, Fong Sai Yuk, and New Legend of Shaolin being the top 5 in my opinion), but falling short because of miss casting, and over pyrotechnics is unfortunate. Watch this movie, heck, buy it to be in your martial arts DVD collection, it is a good movie; it just could have been better.
