Rating: Summary: Goofball Kung-Fu Adventure Meets Below Chan-Fan Expectation! Review: My Lucky Stars, the second installment of Samo Hung's Winners and Sinners series dissapointed this reviewer. The story line is interesting, but nothing that anyone has never experienced before. Jackie Chan has a rather small role and the stunts are less exciting than usual. Chan's character (Muscles) discovers that his partner is kidnapped by a group of Japanese mobsters. In desperation, he calls upon his orphanage pals to lend a hand. The group, led by Sammo Hung's character, are a group of rowdy, delinquent, childish, sex-hungry maniacs. The story focuses on their bumbling antics, as the movie attempts to be funny. One scene in particular where the gang goes to a Japanese restaurant; one character (with the MOST obnoxious voice you could ever hear) tries to speak Japanese to the waiter to get his food, but ends up with a rubber frog on the platter. You can see the frog being moved by two thin strings. Overall, the effects and stunts are lackluster and Jackie's dubbing voice is... well, god awful. For silly toilet humour at best, give this movie a try. I recommend you stick to other Chan-Hung collaborations such as Winners and Sinners or Mr. Nice Guy.
Rating: Summary: more comedy...less kung fu Review: Not as good as WINNERS & SINNERS, but still a very enjoyable movie. The humor, plot, and action is similar to the first(W&S). Chan is in a limited role but gets to have a big fight scene at the end. There are only 3 fight scenes, but the last one is worth the price of admission. If you enjoy the "Lucky Stars" movies, add this to your collection. If not, you should still check it out somehow. Verdict: I liked it and you will too, unless lots of fight scenes is your top priority...buy this.best feature-humor, cast, final fight scene worst feature-limited # of fights, humor may not appeal to all

Rating: Summary: My Lucky Stars (1985) Review: This film is silly and NOT A JACKIE CHAN FILM!!! Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan play officers tracking down a drug lord. When Yuen gets kidnapped Jackie enlist his childhood buddies, the Luck Stars, to help Jackie save him.
Rating: Summary: A good movie, but not Chan's best. Review: This is a great movie, and it has a wonderful plot. The humor is dead-on, and I really enjoyed the action in it. Might not be one of the movies you watch to see just Jackie, but it's wonderful to see Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao (though he's not in it very much) and Jackie Chan working together. The acting is good, and it's great to watch in subtitles or voice-over. I'd suggest anyone who's a fan of Jackie Chan or of Chinese import action-comedy movies to buy this movie. You won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: The Lucky Stars Strike again! Review: This movie is actually based on the group that Jackie Chan was in when he was in the Chinese Opera School. His master named them his Lucky Stars. This movie is a great one to watch as Jackie does what he is famous for and beloved for. Buy this movie and you won't be let down.
Rating: Summary: Very Hard to Follow, but Very Enjoyable Once You Get It Review: This was the first subtitled Jackie Chan (sorta) movie I ever got, and I will have to say that it was quite possibly the worst choice for the first in the world. When I read on the back that Jackie was in Japan, I thought that it was written by some idiot who thinks that Jackie Chan is Japanese; but when he called his superior in Hong Kong, and the phone had a Japanese flag, I got REALLY confused! There's also a scene in which the Lucky Stars (the five main characters) get in a sticky situation, and must be recognized by a gang as being good people by speaking with the same Cantonese accent. I sadly couldn't reach the ending the first couple of times I sat to watch it. However, after a month or so, I finally caught on, and discovered that once you get into the right state of mind (and after those two parts), it's quite easy to enjoy! Following it accurately no longer mattered to me! Why? It's because I discovered the secret: this movie is all about the characters and the situations of the present scenes! Even the complete absense of Jackie Chan through 65% of this movie no longer mattered; the Lucky Stars were all very real, and VERY likable! The sequences with them lusting over Ba Wah are all very amusing, and the fight scenes (which DOES NOT include Benny "The Jet" Urquidez) in the end are all great! My Lucky Stars is enjoyable fun from beggining to end. Once you get through the strangeness of the movie, it could dominate your next week's worth of nights by making you watch it over and over again! Have fun, and enjoy!

Rating: Summary: A Little Out Dated but Still Worth Watching Review: While more than a little dated, it's still worth watching. Just remember that the bulk of the film has a paucity of fight scenes and the rest is a lot of screw ball comedy that some people might not enjoy. The last 20 minutes however, are almost non-stop mayhem that makes you appreciate how Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, and Yuen Biao became legends in their own time. Sibelle Hu also shows some very formidable martial arts skills and (for me), was the one of the main highlights of of the film. The typically thin plot has Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao as H.K. police in Japan tracking down a former police partner turned criminal. With Sammo's help they get their man. And that's pretty much it, but like most H.K. Cinema, it can't be adequately described, only experienced. My only real complaint about this film was that Yuen Biao's talents are squandered; he gets kidnapped early in the film and doesn't appear until the last 10 minutes or so. Beyond that, it's good stuff if you like classic H.K. Cinema. Although I would advise you rent it before you buy it just to make sure.
