Summary: Iron Monkey (1993) is Better.
Review: It's sad to see Americans put down Hong Kong martial arts movies. I encourage anyone that liked the old Shaw Brothers stuff (like 5 Deadly Venoms) to RUN and get these newer movies. They easily blow Hollywood away (except The Matrix). I was watching bootleg versions of these movies 6 years ago in Chinatown, so don't listen to these "I'm a real martial artist and..." people. They're the same ones that made Chuck Norris a star. Hollywood can't buy the 'eye' these HK directors have. See "Iron Monkey" too...it's REALLY good!

Summary: Crazy Roller Coaster of a movie
Review: this movie looked pretty good in the begining when jet busted some skulls with a stick after seeing his house destryed. he also gave his infant son a choice to fight by his side or die.
later on the movie, the story line became stupid and unbearable. a guy drives around in a spiked car? cumon, its not even the ching dynasty yet!! and he uses his son as a projectlie to throw at the big boss! no way! what saved this movie as with his other bad movies, were the fighting scenes.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: different in style, but just a notch below fist of legend
Review: this movie has it all: comedy, a good story, and intense fighting scenes. the wire-enhanced fighting scenes amplify jet's already unique martial arts talent. fist of legend is still the best, but this one is not far behind.

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: Directed by Hong Kong's certifiably insane Wong Jing, New Legend of Shaolin is one of the most bizarre entries into the action-comedy genre.

Jet Li once again plays one of China's most legendary freedom fighters, Hung Hei-Kwun (he also played Wong Fei-Hung and Fong Sai-Yuk), this time traveling cross country with his young son (Tze Miu); romancing a beautiful con artist (Chingmy Yau); and protecting the Shaolin temple from a guy with poisonous skin who drives around in a miniature silver Batmobile.

New Legend of Shaolin doesn't really know who its target audience is, as its humour ranges from obscene to slapstick and back again. Still, the fights are all inspired and thoroughly exciting. And its hard not to like a movie with a tiny silver Batmobile in it.

Summary: its good but not cool
Review: The story was alright, the fighting scenes were great. With this film, you will see Jet Li in a different fashion, he is fast, he is cool, and he has a partner, a kid, they both show strength, confidence, and caring for each other. There is one word i can say for this flick, that is "teamwork". They are both there to protect each other and they are both willing to die to protect one another. When comparing this to Fists of Legend, this movie would be im the middle. To all: Fist of Legend is all the way to the top, it even tops his US debut, Lethal Weapon 4. All I can say is the New Legend of Shaolin is good but not cool.

Summary: This "movie" is an insult!
Review: Being a martial artist myself, I loved Lethal Weapon 4. Fight scenes were clean, hard, and realistic. This disgrace was the opposite! Li has talent, so give him time. But the subtitled version of this movie is alright, so give that a shot, but stay away from the dubbed!

Summary: Not for you if you loved him in his American premier LW4
Review: I fell for Jet Li after seeing him in Leathal Weapon 4.If you are not familiar with the Honk Kong type of movie style, you will be terribly dissapointed, this movie will seem obsurd and terribly staged. It doesn't give you the opportunity to really experience Jet's great talent for the martial arts,it's all done with wires and "smoke and mirrors" so to speak.Wait around for future "American made" movies starring Jet Li,there will be plenty coming since his great reception in Lethal Weapon 4.Be patient and wait, and if you can't the best thing to do is rent or buy,"Fist of Legend","Hitman",or "Bodyguard from Beijing".These movies don't get into the silly comedy and ridiculous antics that are in this movie.

Summary: Great action and martial arts display!!!!!!!!
Review: I love all of Jet Li's movie. I have watched this one in particular for many times, and still love the fast pasted action, stunning martial arts display and special effects. If you like what he did in Leathal Weapon 4, you haven't seen anything yet!!!! To get to know Jet Li about his martial arts capability and fighting style, I HIGHLY recommend this movie to any martial arts movie lover. I also HIGHLY recommend other movies that staring Jet Li: Fang Sia Yuk I & II; Tai Chi Master; Once upon a time In China (I, II, III, IV, VI); My Father Is a Hero; Fist of Legend. I gurantee that you won't be disapponted.

Summary: One of the best Jet Li movies
Review: This movie is really cool, you should watch it

Summary: Lone Wolf and Cub, revised
Review: If you have seen the tv show from Japan or video of the series. It has been improved by Jet Li. They used the story of Lone Wolf and Cub, but made improvements. Fight scenes are far better, story is fine (revenge is always good for fighting) and some added humor from the supporting cast.
