Summary: A gore masterpiece
Review: This is a great film, possibly the most brutal violence and gore ever seen in a martial arts film. When Ricky is sent to prison for killing a drug dealer, he must fight an assortment of thugs, monsters, and prison guards including the two evil wardens and the dreaded gang of four. Ricky has supernatural power and is able to heal injuries that would kill a normal person (he has 7 bullets in his chest). When he hits somebody, his fist goes right through their body, he becomes a killing machine.

Riki Oh features many creative scenes of extreme gore and crazy mayhem that will have you standing up and cheering... Some of the best deaths ever filmed! Heads are completely smashed and destroyed, eyeballs are popped out, there's intestine strangulation, razor blade torture, people skinned alive, submerged in concrete, buried alive, disemboweled, impaled with broken glass and knives, punched and reduced to chunky crimson mush, decapitated, crucified, dismembered, and blown to bits. I love this movie. The meat grinder climax is one of the goriest moments in movie history, right up there with the lawnmower assault in Dead Alive. Please, stop reading reviews and buy this movie NOW, you will be happy you did. Avoid R rated version.

If you like Riki Oh, also look for Dead Alive aka Braindead, Bad Taste, Premutos, and the Toxic Avenger.

Summary: Ridiculously violent masterpiece of bloodshed and mayhem.
Review: OK, this is either the worst movie ever made, or the best, depending on how you look at it. By normal standards upon which most movies are reviewed, it doesn't get much more terrible than this. However, based upon sheer violent content that reaches such an unbelievably, unimaginably, outrageously graphic level it achieves comedic sickness whether its meant to or not, it is the best movie ever. Riki Oh is by far the bloodiest, goriest, and sickest film ever concieved. Imagine the game Mortal Kombat... and make it 50x bloodier. Holes are punched through people, heads are crushed, tendons are ripped and tied, intestines are pulled out and used as weapons, body parts fly, eyes shoot out from the sockets, and people are shoved into meat grinders. That is only half of it. Blood flows like water. Watch it, you'll have a good time doing it. You'll be watching the fight scenes over just to make sure that, yes, you really saw Ricky tie his own tendon with his teeth. Watch it with a group of friends, you'll all be laughing your butts off, either that or vomitting profusely. Riki Oh is a tremendously enjoyable experience, however those who are weak of stomache should stray away from this movie at all costs. If you are a gore freak, or just looking for a good distraction from your woes, by all means get Riki Oh. If you are looking for depth of plot and heartfelt acting, avoid Riki Oh no matter what. Again, it cannot be stressed how insanely violent this movie is.

Summary: A let-down.......
Review: I had been hearing about this movie for years. I am a big fan of Hong Kong cinema, "wire-fu," zombie movies, and cheesy horror movies like "Dead Alive."
Upon mentioning "Dead Alive" to people, many mentioned this movies, saying that I HAD to see it and that it was SO funny and SO gorey.
I finally broke down and bought it and watched it yesterday. The dubbing was great, the voices and some of the lines were hilarious; but it didn't make up for what the movie lacked.....
The gore was a bit silly, but not so over-the-top as I had expected.

Overall, I was dissapointed and would recommend VIEWING this movie, but not OWNING it.

Summary: Fun, Gory Kickass Film
Review: When I saw this I was shocked to see all the gore they used. This film has a little bit of everything to keep you interested, extreme gore and slapstick humor are the main highlights of this incredible film. From my point of view this isn't a martial arts or kung fu film it has those elements but didn't seem like it. The plot is thin but you won't notice Ricky HO (NOT OH) is in prison in the future for killing a drug kingpin to avenge the death of his girlfriend, while hes there he has to put up with corrupt wardens and gangs while keeping the somewhat peaceful and kind prisoners (And himself) alive. The gore F/X in this film are good to decent the head crushings and intestine F/X are well done, but the exploding bodies leave you wanting more blood, but this film is bloody enough, its SO gory youll be grinning at the extreme bloodshed and gore (this one is about two less times gorier then Dead alive). However the only minor points are the quick ending and some bad gore F/X but don't let that ruin your fun. I HIGHLY Recommend this DVD and avoid the R rated version like HELL. In addition to this film I also recommend this film to people who liked: Dead alive, bad taste and evil dead 2, because this movie reminded me of those films while I saw it.

Summary: All hail Ricky!
Review: Although there are no fancy slick kung-fu moves, Ricky delivers dismembering blows, simple and effective. He fought this one fat guy and just gave him one good punch through the intestines. There are three goons that kill people in gory fashions as well. Violence isn't in every scene but you still get a good amount. Even when there is no gore in a scene, there's humor which redeems everything. The dubbing is so cheesy it's good. My first initial response to the movie was that it was like Bad Taste (the boss he fights in the end transforms in a similar fashion as the aliens in Bad Taste even) if it were a kung-fu flick. It's not disturbing gore, rather, cartoon gore. It's so obvious when they switch to fake dummies for the gory scenes. This doesn't ruin the atmosphere in the movie though. Because of the context of this being a b-movie, the fake looking effects become a plus in my book. Even in this day and age of expensive computer graphics, there's nothing like seeing silly crafted low budget gore effects. If you were looking for realistic gore, go watch Saving Private Ryan or something. This is a movie for people with a bizarre imagination. An inspirational film too. Ricky was a Moses like character, freeing everyone from the evil wardens who were corrupt and threw innocent people in prison just for cheap labor.

Summary: Wow! so bad its funny---however chi-gung does exist
Review: This has to be the most revolting movie ever. Its so gory its funny. Some of the make up visual effects are so bad and fake its hilarious. Chi-gung in Chinese history exists to a certain point to what it is explained in the movie but of course its exaggerated. Really the director played off of Chinese tradition of Chi-gung. It's a spiritual type energy that allows for one hit death blows but in real life heads and arms dont explode like that when a true master (ancient history stories) of the chi hits someone they destroy the area they hit and the area collapses but doesnt explode quite like the movie shows.

Really there is no plot but its about an evil warden who has left town and a temporary warden takes his place who is no less sadistic. The guy has a hook for one arm and uses his fake eye to hide breath mints (dont ask me why). They even taste rotten at times (gross).

The basic plot is Ricky has superhuman strength and has the healing rate of a ... vampire; one minute he's bleeding a gallon of blood the next he's fine. He lost enough blood to fill 20 Rocky movies combined in this film. He basically goes to prison because he kills someone who kills his girlfriend. Then he helps all the prisoners free because the warden treats them like yesterdays cow meat (literally).

If you like destruction of every part of the human body known to man...this is for you.....

Summary: One hell of a action movie!
Review: This 1992 Hong Kong import has gained a cult following, it's a ultraviolent supernatural martial arts action thriller based on a hyper-violent manga. Set in 200, a young man named " Riki-Oh" is sentence to a large prison for manslaughter, he discovers that a gang in the prison are being helped by the evil warden and the assistant warden on smuggling drugs into the prison and killing some of the innocient prisoners, now Riki must use his supernatural superhuman strength to fight back against the enemy.

Highly entertaining and original movie full of great martial art sequences, extremely graphic realistic gore including the infamous scene where a guy gets his skull bursts by two strong slammning hands and interesting storyline. A must see for the fan of Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson.

Also recomended: Dead Alive, The Toxic Avenger, Fist of the North Star ( 1986 animated), Total Recall, Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, Enter the Dragon, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, The Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Bad Taste, Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 with Dennis Hopper, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Stuff ( 1985), Akira, Shogun Assassin, Contamination, Ninja Scroll, Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk Down, Return of the Living Dead 3, Starship Troopers, Robocop, Scanners, Ghost in the Shell, Urotsukidojio, Tetsuo the Ironman, Blood Diner, Maniac ( 1980), Street Trash, I Spit on Your Grave, Basket Case, Rabid Grannies, The Matrix, and Day of the Dead.

Summary: RIKI SET ME FREE!!!
Review: If you deal opium, oppress old men who build toy trains, fillet the skin off of poor mutes, get in Riki's business, or otherwise piss Riki off: YOU WILL BE PUNISHED!!! This movie is totally ridiculous and wild! Bad dubbing, cheesy fx, and over-the-top gore will have you rolling! The only reason this isn't getting five stars is because of my dissappointment that the warden's fat, annoying boy didn't get pummeled.

Summary: WE WANT RICKY!!!
Review: This movie is just pure scchhhlloock fabness in a "Dead Alive/Brain Dead" sort of way. The premise is simple. Ricky is a really strong martial artist who has the gift of strength and can smash anything to pieces or chew razorblades and still smile... and he does. He is in a prison where there are a load of villains for him to plough through in the most gruesome of ways imaginable. It is like the "Toxic Avenger" crossed with a Bruce Lee movie minus the technique.

Scenes involve guys getting their jaws punched off and hands coming out of their mouths or people getting their eyes slapped out of their heads. The whole movie is like that from start to finish. Everything you have heard about Ricky is true. It's great! It's fun! It is pure messing around by the film makers but you can tell that everyone is here for a bloody laugh. There are scenes in this film which are utterly hilarious (like the girlfriend's death, OMG! What a laugh. I nearly peed myself afterwards). Or how about the scene where they bury him underground. Its is so so so funny.

Imagine if you will the scene from "Enter the Dragon" where Lee is below with the prisoners and they are all chanting for him. Well Ricky is like that scene x 90 minutes with pure gore and limbs flying everywhere. This film is hoot!

WE WANT RICKY!!!!
