Rating: Summary: The Dragon is Alive Review: Bruce Lee is The Man, The Dragon, a loving father, and in this movie, he not only beats the crap out of the Texas Ranger, but done a good acting job in his terms. Bruce Lee, unlike martial arts posers like Chuck Norris and Steve Blackman, (WWF) he is a real martial artist and his speed, determination, and power in his jeet kune do skills is inhuman, and it shows in the movie. Although he doesn't have the stamina and endurance of Jackie Chan, since Jackie does crazy stunts with broken bones as a living, but Bruce Lee is one of the few people that will beat you down if you challenge him and make it look good. When he fights, it looks like he's dancing with grace! Return of the Dragon is my favorite Bruce Lee movie of all time, it has lots of action scenes and is always fun to watch over and over. And in real life, he doesn't need Brisk to beat some karate kid wuss.
Rating: Summary: A classic Review: Any fan of Martial Arts films should see Return of the Dragon. Bruce Lee wrote and directed this film and it shows. While the story and characters may be weak, Lee knows how to provide excellent fight scenes in interesting locations. The best example of this is the final fight with Chuch Norris. Lee makes it look as though he and Norris are two gladiators fighting in ancient Rome. The film's attempts to be funny are kind of pathetic but you'll be too mesmorised be Lee to notice.
Rating: Summary: The Way Of The Dragon Review: Bruce Lee directs and stars in this enjoyable and entertaining martial arts masterpiece. The fight choreography in this movie is probably the most realistic as it can get when compared to all of the other martial arts movies to date. Dropping the more traditional Wing Chun style, like in Lee's previous movies (ie "Fist Of Fury" [Chinese Connection]) - Lee uses, in what he thinks is the more superior fighting style, Jeet Kun Do, when he goes up against his opponents. The best fight scene was with Lee and Chuck Norris in the Roman colloseum. I loved it when Lee starts to warm-up before the fight, educating the audience on how to properly stretch before practicing martial arts or engaging in combat. When the fight starts, Norris gets the upper hand at first, but when Lee initializes his Jeet Kun Do style, Lee systematically takes out his opponent with a flurry of punches and kicks, and then dismembering his arm and taking out his knee cap. Lee then finishes Norris off with a neck breaking arm lock. Bruce Lee is definately a capable street fighter, which he shows in all of his wonderful movies, especially in "Return Of The Dragon". So check out the master at work, see this movie.
Rating: Summary: It's quite awful Review: Bruce Lee, in my opinion, never quite measured up to what Jackie Chan is today. What his movies suffer from is the fact that his acting is way too serious. Jackie Chan (and even Jet Li sometimes) has the good notion to realize that his films can't always be taken seriously so he portrays it in a light-hearted, entertaining, and humorous manner. Now, to be fair, Return of the Dragon is trying to be more comical than Bruce Lee's other films but it fails miserably. The humor is so bad; I only mildly laughed at one intentionally humorous scene. The fish-out-of-water plot can make for some hilarious moments as it did in Chan's Rumble in the Bronx and Rush Hour but in this film Lee does really nothing to try and use the plot's idea to his advantage. But of course, most people Watch Bruce Lee movies for action. Well, there's plenty of it in Return of the Dragon but most of it's quite bad. The action sequences look clumsily choreographed. Whenever Lee takes down one of the gangsters it looks like his fist or foot was nowhere near close to touching his opponent. The settings don't help either. The alleyway fights look like something you would see in a soap opera and the one inside the rich man's room isn't much better. The only fight worth noting is the one between Lee and Chuck Norris. It's much better than the other fights, but it's far from spectacular. Sure, there are a lot of great moves but there's too many pauses and we never get the feeling Norris could actually give Lee a tough time much less defeat him. Mostly boring and dull, Return of the Dragon may satisfy some martial arts fans but to everyone else, it'll be one awful affair.
Rating: Summary: RETURN OF THE DRAGON - The best of Lee's Chinese films Review: This is the ultimate Martial arts film! Bruce Lee stars (he wrote and directed too) in this martial arts master piece. Lee is a friend of a restaurant owner, and he has come to help them out in times of trouble; their restaurant, located in Rome, is under attack by thugs and he's gotta help them out. Poor dubbing and a few pointless parts (Watch for the cats at the end!) make the movie hilarious sometimes. And Chuck shows up! Chuck! This is a wicked movie, staring Bruce Lee, the legend.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT example of Bruce Lee Review: not much review for this is needed. i mean its bruce lee! with an thrilling end fight scene with chuck norris! bruce lee shows once again who will always be the king of martial arts movies. very good sound and picture quality compared to other versions. SP mode. (Amizon also put this review up for Bruce Lee: The Master Collection Set DVD set, however it only refers to this movie.)
Rating: Summary: BRUCE LEE VS. CHUCK NORRIS ENOUGH SAID.. Review: Of all of Bruce Lee's movies this one is perhaps the most realistic and enjoyable in terms of martial arts action even more so than Enter the Dragon. The plot of a country bumbkin sent away from his home that ends up singlehandedly humiliating and dispatching pestering gangsters is again implemented, but is this time seen entirely through Bruce's eyes as Bruce wrote this screenplay. Comedy punchlines that fall flat, plot somersaults that defy logic and reasoning leaving the audience discombobulated however are forgetable, but the choreography of the fights are the apex of on screen martial-arts action. The gladiator duel set in the Colloseum with Bruce and Chuck Norris is the most climactic scene, and I found myself rewinding the scene over and over to catch Bruce Lee's footwork that seemed comparable to Muhammed Ali's. The scene where Bruce Lee wields two nunchaka at once is asskickingly breathtaking. Don't rent this movie. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: Classic Battle Review: The Chinese Connection is by far my favorite movie by Bruce for the fight sequences. However, the fight sequence between Bruce and Chuck Norris is Classic. I still consider it to be one of the best fight sequences between two individuals.
Rating: Summary: ASIAN DVD ISCOMPLETE VERSION Review: I have this on dvd but its called The Way Of The Dragon and is the complete version. This is one of my favorite Bruce Lee films of all time a classic film finally on dvd.
Rating: Summary: Great fight scenes Review: The fight scenes in this movie are incredible.Lee was so fast with his hands and feet he makes everybody else look like they are moving in slow motion. The fight scene between Lee and Norris was excellent, although in reality Lee really wanted to do that scene with Joe Lewis who was the world heavyweight kickboxing champ at that time, but Lewis turned him down.
