Review: First off, the REAL name of this movie is "Crippled Avengers." I guess some marketing dweeb thought he could sell more videos if he changed the title. Therefore, the plot of this movie has nothing to do with "The 5 Deadly Venoms" (but it does feature 4 of the same actors). 5DV has a better plot actually. The storyline of Crippled Avengers is pretty silly, but it's good to laugh, right? The gore is so fake and funny. But to the point--it doesn't matter whether you believe these guys are crippled or not, they are amazingly talented, they're wonderful acrobats and martial artists, and a joy to watch in action! This film does a much better job of showcasing their skills than 5DV does. No digital effects here, Baby!!!

Summary: All time favorite Shaw flick
Review: For as long as I can remember, this film, a.k.a. Can Que, has had a deep impact on my view towards Martial Arts Cinema. I'm sure anyone would agree the fight choreography, plot, and lighting are all superectile. Philip Kwok's portrayal of a man who loses his eyesight to Tu Chan (played marvelously by Feng Lu) nearly brought me to tears. His journey towards a higher awareness employing his other senses erupts in an all out spectacular training sequence with Retard (supremely acted by Sheng Chiang). The films climactic end is the lengthy battle between the avenging cripples and superectal antagonist Tu Tin Tao (Kwan Tai Chen) showcasing the acrobatic abilities of all these fine gentlemen. If you have nothing better to do today, go out and pick this DVD up immediately.

Review: Great fight scenes, neat ideas. I had hoped it was a sequel to the 5 Deadly Venoms and would feature the further exploits of the Poison Clan but alas, this had nothing to do with that movie except for the actors.

Summary: Unbelievably entertaining.
Review: I got this DVD on the basis of the reviews here and other things I had heard about it, and I was not disappointed. The picture is widescreen and very clear, especially compared to other kung fu DVDs from the same time period. There are occasional scratches and other defects on the screen, but their appearance is very negligible. As for the story, it is the inspirational tale of how four men learn to overcome their disabilities along with one VERY important birthday party. The fighting itself is good, punctuated by moments that made my jaw drop. However, it is the plot and characters that really make this movie stand out. If you enjoy martial arts movies, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Review: I probably said it before and I'll say it again - I never met a Shaw Brothers movie featuring the Venoms and directed by Chang Cheh, that did not ROCK THE HOUSE!(P.S. I know it by the title "Crippled Avengers."

Summary: Return Of The 5 Deadly Venoms
Review: I remember watching this movie on Samurai Sunday (those of you who were martial art fanatics in the 80's will relate) and this movie left a memoriable and exciting impression in my mind that has lasted for many years. I saw this movie 1 time and still remember each character, all of the martial arts moves and the story line. This is by far a classic and definitely one that should be in every Samurai Sunday fans collection.
Overall...This movie rocks!!!!!!

Review: I remembered the this movie years ago as "The Crippled Avengers". It was excellent then and it's excellent now. If you are a fan of the 5 Deadly Venoms then you will love this movie. The story will hook you from the very begining while the fight scenes are great. I especialy like this film because of the training scenes. I am very big on training sequences in Martial Arts film, and this movie has some good ones. The story builds as it goes, which is good, and there isn't any action just for the sake of action shots, which I hate. As a martial arts movie buff I had to have this movie in my collection. Even if you are not a serious collector you need to have this movie. Its one of those films that you can show to people who hate martial arts films and dubbed movies just to hear them say "damb, that was a good flick!".
