Summary: don't believe the hype ! !
Review: theres been some great reviews of this flick but i wouldnt trust them all. this film starts out great but goes down hill quik. the one arm boxer isn't believable at all. there's one scene with another one armed fighter where he falls on his back and you can see his missing arm tucked behind his back. its so bad. the fight scenes are very slow and the fighters come like a foot away from actually hitting each other. those two things made the film crap for me. i just couldnt buy it. i did love the villian, and thats about it. RENT before you Buy ! !

Summary: The beautiful but deadly red velvet guillotine...
Review: This film directed by Jimmy Wang Yu is entertaining, with great action scenes, awesome characters, a good screenplay, and a good plot.

The action scenes are as good as any other classic 70's HK film.
Man, watch out for that guillotine and its owner, WOW! Take your head RIGHT-OFF! Even though the production value wasn't very high for this gem of an independent film, the guillotine is very rich in red and looks a lot better than the previous guillotine movies.

I very much enjoyed Wang Yu's character as the wise martial arts master, and because he has one arm as a handicap to being a master, just shows how good he really is. The master of the guillotine is wonderful to watch, with the haunting music upon his entrance...It makes you not want to be his enemy. Very good job with this bad guy. There are other good characters as well, but these two are the focal points.

The screenplay and plot I enjoyed because of little things that Wang Yu put in the film. Little subtle things like how the guillotine master jumps through his own roof in the beginning, and that is used as foreshadowing. It never gets boring, and the plot is great too. Instead of the hero getting revenge, it's flipped. The hero is being stalked by a masterful killer. Creepy.

This is a good movie and the audio commentary is interesting as well, for I love to know as much info as possible about these wonderful movies. Pick it up you Martial Arts Fan! Watch the extremely deadly weapon fly! So you get an idea of what I call a good movie, I love these other titles: Fist of Legend, Dirty Ho(No pun intended), Prodigal Son, Once Upon A Time In China I, Five Deadly Venoms, Shoalin Master Killer, ect....Enjoy...Peace.

Summary: Flying Guillotine vs The One Armed Boxer
Review: This has to be one of the all time best martial arts movies ever made. NO LIE! Not only does it kick ...as such, it also is extremely well made. The cinematography is really nice and displays plenty of cool tricks. This blows away so many of the other Kung Fu movies i've seen, it IS ridiculous. I don't want to give away the good stuff but needless to say, you get plenty of good action, and a nice variety of things to appreciate. Creatively, this movie rules- So many styles and of course... the flying guillotine! Please DONT MISS OUT!!! On top of all that, the dvd itself is top quality!

Summary: Good but Overhyped
Review: This is a must have for any serious Kung fu fan. Good fights ( lots a different styles) some comedy..and this is actually one of the better dvd transfers of old kung fu flicks I have seen. The final fight scene was a bit dissapointing, and I think the movie is a bit overhyped. That being said, its still a classic.

Review: This is a very good movie. IF you like old school Kung Fu movies this is one of the best. The final fight seen draged out a little for me but all and all it was a good movie.

Summary: Classic Kung Fu, Classic Weapon
Review: This movie is one of the best70s kung fu movies ever! Sure its not a serious movie; so some of the Bruce Lee fanatics have given it a low rating, but if you like fantastic themes in your kung fu movies than this is for you.

There is Wudan style flying, mystical powers of fighting, and of course the unforgettable gillotine.

Of course its goofey in its own way: when the gillotine master comes to town, (trying to find the one armed boxer), all of the one armed people come out of the woodwork to get killed by him, but so what?

Summary: Master of the Classic Kung Fu
Review: This movie is one of the classic kung fu you will find. If you watched the Kung Fu Theater on Channel 9 years ago, you remember seeing this. I have been searching for this movie for years. Now it will be available in September! It's about an old man who fight the One Hand Boxer. The fight scene and the plot is awesome. Get it! I will definately.
