Summary: Dirty Dancing
Review: I really enjoyed this movie. While it wasn't exactly non-stop action, it was well paced through its duration. What really held my interest was the heavy dose of comedy. It was funny without being slapstick like Jackie Chan. Random Notes:
* There were some fanciful wire moves, like airial ballet. In one scene Jet Lee jumps up and does a "Curley Shuffel" move(where Curley, of 3-stooges fame, would pivot on his shoulder and spin around on the floor by pushing with his feet) in mid-air taking out a room full of bad guys. * The football scene was a riot! Jet Lee is invited to play football with some bad guys. After taking a beating for several plays, he learns that it is ok to pound the guy with the ball. So on the next play he takes out most of the bad guys by tossing them the ball and then creaming them while they held it. (He even scores a touch down on the play!) It reminded me of the last scene from "The Longest Yard" starring Burt Reynolds.
* The love interest thread was well done.
* Overall, the movie was well done and entertaining but was by no means a master piece. But despite issues with almost every aspect of film making, the film was a joy to watch. If you like this genre, "Romeo Must Die" belongs in your collection.

Summary: Rocked!
Review: I thought this movie rocked, I just saw it last night and decided to tune in since Aaliyah was in it. Aaliyah is such a great actress, she portrayed her character so well and was in top form. It is heartbreaking to have such a multitalented young star leave the world in the manner she did. But back to the movie, Jet Li and Baby Girl's chemistry was wonderful, you could really see something happening with them in the movie. The action rocked!!! This was just an all artound great love story/action flick rolled into one. Aaliyah RIP

Summary: Good all around
Review: I thought this movie was pretty good. I had no idea what to expect when I started watching it, the main reason I turned it on was because of the recent death of Aaliyah and I wanted to find out who she was and what she was about. I was surprised to see this is actually a good movie. It is filled with fighting and action, and the acting is commendable. It is also filled with light humor. If you like movies with a lot of fighting, this is probably for you. I only have a couple of complaints. One, a lot of the fighting moves and special effects are really fake looking. It's ok, though, since I expect it. The story line is also a little hard to follow if you're not fully into it. Luckily, movies from this genre usually follow linear stories anyway, and one beating after another clears things up pretty well.

Summary: Very Americanized Jet Li
Review: Jet Li is as charismatic as ever, but the only other actor with any presence at all is Delroy Lindo. The story tries to mix in a football ownership angle which comes off as simply silly. Very innovative shots of the interior of a person's body as a devastating blow hits are neat, but serve no real purpose. Without Jet Li, this film wouldn't be worth anyone's time. ... .

Summary: MATRIX style action means MATRIX style fun!
Review: THIS IS NO SEQUEL TO ROMEO AND JULIET!

JET LI stars as Han Sing, a Chinese kung fu master who's brother was murdered. Now he is seeking revenge on the man who murdered him. But what he doesn't know is who the killer is and what kind of scandal is going on between the Americans and Asians. Now he teams up with a young woman who must be protected from dangerous Chinese enemies, who would do anything to stop LI.

MY REVIEW:

"Just because JET LI is attached to cables doesn't mean [anything]. KEANU REEVES was attached to cables in The Matrix but no one was complaining. You don't have to believe in the movie, you just sit back and enjoy the non-stop action. Humor and Kung Fu come together to make this joyride that isn't necessarily a perfect movie, but is just fun to watch. So check this movie out, even though you know some of the karate is fake, just remember it is a movie, meant for entertainment. Judge it how you want, but ROMEO MUST DIE is a sweet a-- ride of action adventure!"- MJV & the Movies.

Summary: Romeo Must Die
Review: This movie is an attempt to integrate elements of the Hong Kong kung fu movie into the traditional Hollywood action hero movie, with unspectacular results. Jet Li is as solid as ever, given that he's starring in an American movie and has a limited command of English. Some of the fight scenes are very good. The plot, though is generic, as is, with the exception of Delroy Lindo, the supporting cast. ROMEO MUST DIE is not on par with the best of Li's work in Hong Kong, or even his most recent HK work, BLACK MASK. I'd recommend starting with THE LEGEND, and ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA, then think about ROMEO MUST DIE.

Summary: He's on wires!
Review: Wow! Jet Li! How fantastic!

Wait a second...he's on wires.

Bah!

All the wires couldn't keep this movie from sinking like a rock.

Over-rated and nowhere near as good as a Jackie Chan movie.

Chan is the real deal...Jet Li is the reel deal :P
