Summary: John Woo does it again
Review: John Woo is the master, plain and simple. No one -- I say no one -- is a better action director than him. He has such an awesome style that I can't help but drop my jaw in admiration.

I was a big fan of the first M:I film, and had really high expectations for M:I-2. I knew Woo would deliver, and indeed he did. M:I-2 has an interesting story combined with excitement, tension, and twists and turns. It's a little hard to follow, but logical. Anyone who says this is "dumbed-down" or "shallow" is just wrong. Compare this movie to Die Hard or any of Jerry Bruckheimer's productions (The Rock, Con Air, Armaggeddon) and it's pretty clear this film treats its audience with a degree of respect not found with most action movies.

The action, of course, is amazing, as we've come to expect with Woo behind the wheel. Some of the coolest action ever filmed is contained herein. The slow motion adds so much to the action.

I'm not sure what more you could want. Great story, concept, and action. It just does not get much better than this.

Summary: Mission: Impossible 2
Review: The megahit sequel to the 1996 TV show-based thriller, "Mission: Impossible II" is a new electrifying adventure starring again Tom Cruise as IMF international super agent Ethan Hunt, who must recruit a civilian named Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton) along with his IMF team (Anthony Hopkins, Steve Zahn, John Polson, and Ving Rhames once more playing Luther Stickell) to attempt to recover a stolen virus, which in the film appeared extremely deadly, before it is auctioned to the highest bidder by Sean Ambrose, the movie's villain, played by Dougray Scott. Although this movie was very entertaining, you're in for something much different than the first film. I give this film a lower rating than most because it doesn't hit the good old fashioned Mission: Impossible feeling. But don't let that keep you from watching this movie. It's great.

Summary: Mission for PG-13 RATING proved Possible--shoulda been R
Review: Tom Cruise looks good, Thandie Newton looks good, Ving Rhames adds some funny to the movie, but JOHN WOO come on! PG-13--let's make more money, well I think that it took away from Woo's quality of work as in FACE/OFF -- Sure Mi:2 was good, worth seeing, but I think it could've been an awesome flik (one of the best ever) if more emotion and drama (i.e. saving private ryan) R R ratings are not always money killers---John Woo's next film will be something Disney then the world can end.

Summary: M:I 2 starts summer with a bang!
Review: Now, just to clear something up. The first M:I was one of my favorite movies ever. Sure it had plot holes and some of the acting was below excellant, but the premise of the film, the action and the way i discovered new things with every veiw really added to my enjoyment. Now, I hear M:I 2 is coming out, and swear to see it ASAP. Well, Its been out for 4 days, and Ive seen it twice. And I LOVE it! It starts out much like the first film, a problem comes up, this time involving a virus called Chimara, and Sean Abrose (Dougary Scott) shows up as our villian. Then, Ethan Hunt (Cruise, sporting his new haircut) shows up and is forced to save the day and destroy the viruse before it destroys mankind. To do this he inlists the help of the beautiful Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton in a break out role) and old friend Luther Stickell (the always lovable Ving Rhames). John Woo focused on devolping a story and romance between Cruise and the charcters and it pays off. You know who the bad guy is, unlike the first film, and learn to hate him. Though their is overuse of the Facechanging tool used in the first film, the action is pure Woo enjoyment. Those who enjoyed his past films will not be dissapointed. Some are giving the film bad reviews, and I must tell you, its all in your frame of mind. If you go in expecting the first film again, your wrong. Or expecting a typical John Woo shoot-em-up fest, you are wrong. The film is James Bond with story, and it is fantastic. You really need to see the movie twice to fully understand what really goes on, even though the story isnt that hard to follow. I cant reccomend it enough if you loved the first one, and want to see what a James Bond movie should be. Have Fun!

Summary: Mission: Stupid.
Review: The follow-up to the mega hit Mission: Impossible, MI:2 was much waited-upon by fans of the first. A big let-down at best.

The acting was good, but the story: Ethan Hunt (Cruise) has to (This is the impossible part) save all of mankind. He also falls in love while he's doing it. At the beginning, Ethan Hunt is climbing a cliff without any wires... but he slips and falls, but catches onto things and does impossible twists to get back up. This set the tone for the whole movie. Ethan Hunt has been transformed from an FBI agent style person to Super Ethan. At any moment one expects him to shoot fire from his fingertips. And they went way over-board with the masks. People somehow get access to these masks ANYWHERE, of ANYONE! In a cave or on a boat. The fight scenes are rip-offs of The Matrix, and a lot of other things are very James Bond-ish. And the rest of the bulk of the movie is taken up by Ethan staring at assorted people in slow motion. With cheesy motercycle chase scenes, and a white dove that flew around with Ethan for a while (proving that he's, at the very least, the Christchild) to boot makes MI:2 one of the worst movies known to mankind. Don't waste money to go see it/rent it.

Summary: Horrible!
Review: Not what I expected! Wait for it to come out on video. The woman actress was horrible in the movie. She might have a set of jugs, but that does not mean you can act. Cruise was okay, but the movie had a very weak plot. DON'T SEE IT...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Summary: Oh Man...
Review: Saw this last night and left thoroughly disappointed. I don't think I've ever said or heard the words "yeah, right!" so many times in one movie. The story was decent, not great...but what really threw me was that the action sequences were so over the top and so ludicrous that I just had to laugh out loud. Tom Cruise's love interest in the film was, however, VERY pleasant to look at and could really act. She was one of the movie's few saving graces though.

I know that it's "Just a Movie" and all, but come on now. The action was just plain unbelievable. I will say that the action, though laughable, LOOKED real. There were no tell-tale CGI effects.

To sum up, one word...RENT!

Summary: Even better than the first MI
Review: I thought this movie was great. There was tons of action scenes, and the majority of them were done in a style which I haven't really seen before. Some had that Matrix feel, particularly a fight scene near the end of the movie, in which it was some in slow motion, other parts in real time. Still, it was very cool. A lot of the stunt work was true to the first MI, really just made the movie, all the action that is. The story seemed something swiped from a James Bond plot, but regardless it was still good. Other Bondesce parts of the movie was the extensive use of state of the art technologies, many of those gadgets are very cool in deed. Awesome movie to go see in the theatres!

Summary: Only as good as the first one, Dissapointing
Review: Tom Cruise never looked better, either did co-star Thandie Newton. While, MI:2 is a great action movie, I don't believe it lived up to the hype. Some great FX in the movie, good action, but nothing stood out to make it better than its predecesor. Don't get me wrong, it's worth seeing, but it was not up to my expectations.
