Summary: Pleasant and amusing diversion.
Review: The key to success with this type of film rests on two factors: the quality of the special effects and the chemistry between the stars.

It seems any 5 year old with an astigmatism and a video camera can do adequate special effects these days and it therefore takes something special to stand out from the crowd. That is not the case here--though the setting in Honk Kong at least provides a nice backdrop for what are run of the mill special effects.

The chemistry is here in spades. Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker work very effectively with one another and Chan's reserve and Tuckers boisterousness are a nice counterpoint for their characters.

The plot is what you'd expect for this sort of thing, but it's adequate to the task. This is a "buddy" film in essence and the chemistry between Tucker & Chan is great and there's enough action to keep thing moving along.

Basically, this is a high grade "B" movie. It's a pleasant diversion for a rainy afternoon where veging out is the main objective at hand.

Summary: Good Movie (only for the Laughs, Horrible Kungfu) Bad DVD
Review: This is without any doubt, one of the best comedies in the history of movies, but at the same time, it is the worst martial art Film of all time. The DVD's infinifilm special is STUPID, with the exeption of the extra deleted scenes. Half of the special infinifilm features are about Jackie chan's stardom in America. If u are looking for a good action flik this isn't what you're lookin for.

Summary: Sexist comedy that tries to expose a non racist rap
Review: This movie portrayed women only as objects of men's desire. In trying to put humor to racial tension by sticking a black guy with a chinese guy, the oppression of women is used as a playing field. As the black and chinese man break racial and cultural barriers, they dig women into a deep, deep hole by being obsessed only by their bodies. There are scenes where women are portrayed as submissive tenants to men (in the chinese spa) and scenes where women are spied upon in a sexual manner (jackie and chris spying on the agent in the hotel). Although the agent is a woman she is depicted as helpless and useful only to look at as her plans to unveil the chinese mafia's crime are ruined by the men's (Jackie and Chris) insensitivity to the operation. Even though this movie may do justice to race relations it gives a big TKO to the oppression of women.

Summary: Better than Rush Hour 1
Review: It was very funny and I especially liked the deleted scenes.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Funny movie, nothing more
Review: I wish I could give the movie three and half stars, but you can make a case for four stars. This movie was basically the first movie but a different story. It had some funny moments. I especially liked Chris Tucker, his comic sense in impeccable. Jackie Chan was also funny, but I thought he was better in the first movie. The outtakes during the credits were also hilarious, almost as funny as the actual movie. Overall I would rent this movie rather then buy it.

Summary: NOT FUNNY AT ALL
Review: When you see the trailer of this movie, you lough more than seeing the movie itself.
This is a bad sequel, the first RUSH HOUR, was really cool.
This one is stupid and not funny at all.
Chris Tucker is the only good thing here.
Jackie Chan gives me the creeps.

Summary: Stupid stupid stupid
Review: Chris Tucker is without a doubt one of the most annoying people in film today. His nasal screech and pop-eyed overacting are like nails on a blackboard to me. In "Rush Hour 2" he portrays an utterly dense and racist American cop, which will do nothing to improve the image of Americans to overseas audiences. Jackie Chan is as agile and chaming as usual; he and a few good action scenes in an otherwise moribund film are the only reasons it gets two stars. The wonderful Zhang Ziyi is criminally wasted. Seeing "Rush Hour 2," it is easy to understand why Asian stars such as Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh decline to make the leap to Hollywood.

Summary: Great Fun!
Review: Three words, NOTHING BUT FUN! This is one of those sequales that is equally good if not better to the first film. What makes this film better is that there are lots more fighting, the comedies funnier, and the film moves along at a faster pace. The film also dose that entire thing a sequale should do, hafe of it has to give you what the first film did, and the other hafe should be brand new and fresh. Rush Hour 2 dose both, which most sequlle dose neither. Only the two title charecters come back, but the new cast makes up for, that with great supporting charecters. Zang Ziyi was the perfect choice for the films villin [...] who gets what she deservers in the end. The reason shes such a great villin is that the audience can loath her for a few simple reasons, yet in most summer movies these days the villins are pathetic, and are totally unthreatining, Toumb Raider comes to mind (though that film was ok but that not important). I own the DVD and it's filled with lots of goodies, Directer, screen writer Commentery, 3 trailers, 2 Teasers, 1 Theatrical, 9 dealeted scenes with optional directers commentery, they can also be put back in the movie along with infini films option, 5 mineuts and 37 secounds of unshown outtakes, a 2 mineut student film by the dirctor, 7 short featurettes, and a evolution of scene. Rush Hour 2 it definetly the Rush of 2001, and it's one of the shortest and funniest 87 mineuts you will have watching a movie. This is definetly a party film, or the kind of film you watch when you have a lot of your freinds over, get out the popcorn and pop, and other snack. It action like you've never seen it before, gerentued, and that the best recommendation you can get. Highly recommended.
