Summary: Fun Follow Up that doesn't make u think too much
Review: Action-film sequals usually take one of 2 routes - either "bigger is better" (i.e. the "Die Hard" movies) or the "stream-lined" approach where they take the parts that clicked in the first film and rehash them ad nauseum. "Rush Hour 2" takes the 2nd approach.

Its a fun, thought-reducing ride that never once strays from the buddy-flick formula. It succeeds because of the on-screen chemistry of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker who play their good cop/crazy cop roles as well as Mel Gibson and Danny Glover did in "Lethal Weapons" (only here, the roles are reversed), and also because of Chan's amazing, "no-stunt-double-in-the-world-could-duplicate" stunts and fight scenes.

There are loads of features on this DVD - the best being the infamous "outtakes". If you're not looking for plot twists and turns, deep emotional releases and intriguing dialogue, but want to laugh, be entertained and go "wow" at the fight/stunt choreography, then this is a DVD for you.

Summary: Entertaining movie and the DVD has decent extras
Review: I had never seen Rush Hour, but my friend liked the movie and we both decided to see Rush Hour 2. Having no background in the previous movie did not detract from my enjoyment of Rush Hour 2. If you like silly entertainment with occasional fighting, this movie is for you!

The plot goes like this: Carter visits Lee (Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan) for his vacation. While Carter is there, they both get involved in trying to foil a counterfeiting scheme that leads them back to the states.

The plot isn't so important, but the rapport between Tucker and Chan is pretty great and there are some really nice laughs in this film from Tucker and Chan. I think the movie is pretty fun and pretty mindless entertainment.

There are some special notes about the DVD though. The DVD I saw had some extras in the form of deleted scenes (with the director, Brett Ratner explaining why) and some commentary about the making of the film. I thought this extra information was interesting, but ultimately did not significantly improve my viewing experience.

For instance, Ratner discusses how a particular scene evolved from first conception to completion. However, "Rush Hour 2" isn't "The Matrix" or "Citizen Kane", so I'm not sure how seeing the evolution of a minor scene in a okay movie will help inform any viewer. I say this as someone who did not attend film school. If I had I may have gotten more out of this DVD segment.

Other DVD segments include some background to Hong Kong and some additional background about the filming of the Rush Hour 2. Again, much of this information was interesting, but not enough to make this a *must have* DVD.

Overall, this is a movie worth seeing, particularly if you need a laugh.

Summary: Jackie Chan is (...)!!!
Review: Even thongh Jackie Chan is welcome by Hollywood, frankly speaking he's no longer popular in Asia, esp. Hong Kong! To Hong Kong people, his style and his action are too common and boring. He's not funny (even he tries so hard to be an action comedian) and the way he acts is (...). He uses stunt man so offen and his kung fu is just like stupid dancing. For really kung fu, please go to look at Bruce Lee.
Maybe he's really hot in the eyes of American people, but some time later, you'll know what I'm saying!

Summary: A laugh-out loud funny movie with great action
Review: This is my land. Here, *I* am Michael Jackson and *you* are Toto. You mean Tito! Toto is what we ate for dinner last night! With lines like that, how can you not love this movie? Rush Hour 2 once again pairs Jackie Chan, the fastest hands in the East with Chris Tucker, the Meet the biggest mouth in the West.

If you loved the first Rush Hour, you will love this one as well. This is an action pack movie with Jackie Chan's amazing stunt work and Chris Tucker's amazing comedic presence. This is a very very funny and entertaining movie.

This movie also stars Roselyn Sanchez, and the gorgeous Zhang Ziyi of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon fame as a crazed assassin. Zhang is great in this movie and some of the action scenes are amazing as well as funny. Let's hope this movie makes enough money to justify 'Rush Hour 3'

Summary: Action packed and funny!
Review: I've already seen this movie in the theaters when it first came out. I couldn't wait for it to come out on video. I also saw Rush Hour but Rush Hour 2 is funnier than the first one. If you haven't seen this, you've gotta get it and watch it!. I understand that Jackie Chan talked Chris Tucker into doing some of his own stunts instead of using stunt people, well, Chis Tucker did a fantastic job!! An ABSOLUTE fantastic movie!!

Summary: This Time, Rush Hour is Running on Low Fumes!
Review: With the success of Rush Hour, I knew they were going to make a sequal. What I didn't know was how lame it would be. Rush Hour 2 falls in the cilched as the typical Hollywood sequal.

This time around Chris Tucker and in Hong Kong for a vaction with his pal Jackie Chan. Chan takes jobs to track down a mob boss and pulls Tucker along for the ride, ruining Tucker's vaction.

Chan is always great. This man can do no harm, but with Tucker comes a bigger dilima. Tucker is just annoying through the majority of this movie. His racial jokes toward Chan's ethincity was lame to same the lest. I hated how Hollywood had to resort to making fun of someone's race. Make fun of a black man and it's racisim but make fun of a chiness man and it's comedy....lame. The only thing worth while to this movie is the outtakes during the credits.

As for the DVD, this Infinifilm Edition looks and sounds great. The DVD don't pack many great extras, but there are some extras to fumble around with.

A good DVD transpher of a poor movie makes this a rental if anything.

Summary: Uncompromising continuation of their first journey!
Review: I am, for the most part, not a huge fan of sequels. "Rush Hour 2" is one of those rare exceptions. The duo of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan simultaneously thrills and stills the mind in this Taoist reflection that brings together comedic idealism and merry police mentality.

This sequel stands about a foot below the original "Rush Hour," but rest assured that this DVD will bring about a positive afterglow for those seeking both enterainment and awe. Chris Tucker's dialogue lacks the charisma he carried in the original, but perhaps his toned down delivery was an intentional homage to Johnny Legend in the almost forgotten Philip Pine masterpiece "The Cat Ate the Canary." I can't help think that Tucker's subtle delivery in "Rush Hour 2" is an attempt at recreating Johnny Legend's vociferous triumph in the above-mentioned flick.

And speaking of nostalgic sleepers, "Rush Hour 2" is worth seeing simply for the slick filming of its action sequences. Too many people write off Jackie Chan as "slapstick," but his phenomenal physical performance blends beautifully with the revved-up lense subterfuge and quick scenic cuts. This technique is reminiscent of a short-lived 1960s motus operandi known as "Speedcolor." Speedcolor was used most prolifically in the 1967 car race film entitled, appropriately enough, "The Speed Lovers." Such a technique is quite at home with a talent such as Jackie Chan.

Whether you are looking for sheer entertainment or a well disguised work of cinematic beauty, "Rush Hour 2" is well worth the price. The plot itself lacks the continuity of its predecessor, but the scenic cinematic wonderland more than makes up for the slight Guajardian absence.

Summary: A 2nd Rush of FUN!
Review: I loved the fist film when it came out, I was hoping this film would be as good, I was oping it could live up to the first one IT DID. This film is absolutely hillarous and has a lot of good action scenes. I heard some people calling this film racist, I don't think it is at all, if anything it shows that two people of different backgrounds and cultures can get along with each other and become good friends. I think Chris Tucker is the funniest man in movies I defenitley hope that he would do more films. Chan also does an excellent job with blending in his unique Chineese fighting skills with Tuckers trash talking this movie defenitley entertains, and that is all a movie should do is: ENTERTAIN YOU!

Summary: Rushto the movies this Hour 2
Review: This movie is better than the first. Well, ok, they're both the same. But it's still one of the greats which combines cuture clashing and action to form the perfect balance in a movie.

Summary: " Sexy Action Comedy"
Review: In Rush Hour II, actors Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are truly in their best form ever. This dynamic and highly talented comic duo have developed an interesting and hillarious repertoire that far exceeds Rush Hour I. Chris Tucker exudes sex appeal, sporting a body that most women would love to bounce quarters off of, while Jackie Chan has reached an entirely new level of the martial arts, which makes the film that much more interesting to view. Rush Hour II introduces a new character into the sequel, Zhang Ziyi from the legendary and highly respected film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" who represents an interesting, but unlikely villainess. Tucker and Chan end up in a heap of trouble after being assigned to unravel the counterfeit scheme of a ruthless kingpen. A sexy and hillarious comedy, destined to be a box office hit! The Long Beach Arts, Entertainment and Literary Review would like to give Rush Hour II, two thumbs up! This film is definitely a must see!
