Rating: Summary: The COOLEST!!!!! Review: This movie was awesome. The plot itself was a little silly, and the special effects were good, but the best part was: The acting!!!! I found it totally enjoyable to watch Cage and Travolta verbally and physically spar. Total fun! Cage is a great hero, but no one plays a villain like Travolta. I also loved the way this movie was filmed - the camera shots were truly brilliant. A REAL HIT!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Best Movie!!!!! Review: This movie is at or near the top of my top ten. John Woo did it again, as he did with Broken Arrow. Travolta and Cage were absolutly Excellent! Acting, music, directing, effects; are just Great. Non-stop action, I was glued to my seat for the whole movie. I HIGHLY recommend it!
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece of Action Review: I had thought that the action film genre was pretty much dead and bereft of anything resembling originality, buried by Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal and the like. Then I discovered John Woo. Like French contemporary Luc Besson (The Professional, Le Femme Nikita) Woo has decided to try the novel idea of developing his characters while at the same time orchestrating the most jaw dropping, aesthetically delirious action sequences ever made. In Face/off Woo does a wonderful job of suspending the audiences disbelief about the face swapping premise with the slightly campy, over the top scene depicting the procedure and then John Travolta and Nicholas Cage carry off the rest through well-acted characterizations of each other. The action scenes are choreographed like a ballet containing a type of beauty only a discriminating action fan could enjoy. If you are the type of action fan who actually liked Con Air (Cage's borethon that came out the same year) don't both with this, you probably won't appreciate it. If, however, you seek a film that ups the quality bar on the entire action film genre definitely check this gem out.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Travolta movies ever! Review: John Woo is one of the best directors ever. Travolta and Cage are a deep threat and pack a powerful one-two punch. They are explosive.
Rating: Summary: Not for girls? Review: Being a girl, most people wouldn't think I couldn't like it, but the fact is that this is a great film, so much more fun than dramas that last for two hours. This film is packed with genious action scenes, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Way to go, John Woo!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as it could have been. Review: Again I have a problem with the furious editing hollywood types feel the craving for nowadays. Just like The Rock and Armageddon this film looks like it's been put thru a shredder. It's hard to understand the action scenes. Also Nic Cage and Travolta seem to be hving too much fun in their roles to bother making them easy to watch. Instead they are embarressing and too funny. I know action films must have humor but when they have too much to match the tone of the film it just completely ruins it.
Rating: Summary: THE DOGS B*****X!!!!! Review: One of the years most action packed films, anybody with a home cinema kit this is a must and an exceptional film to own if you have a laserdisc or dvd player. My speakers had a really good work out as there are some excellent fighting scenes and the special effects are just phonomenal. The story line is good but a little far fetched in places, If you liked con air and the rock then this film is defintely for you.
Rating: Summary: BEST ACTION FLICK EVER! Review: I loved this movie! it has everything you could ever want in an action film: guns, explosions, etc. Travolta and Cage are great all the way through! A must see!
Rating: Summary: ULTIMATE ACTION FILM:IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Review: Travolta and Cage are dynamite in this explosive action thriller from master John Woo. Breath-taking stunts combined with top-notch acting performances make this a must-see for any action fan. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST ACTION MOVIE EVER!!! Review: After getting past the somewhat gruesome face slicing scene, the movie develops into an action packed, somewhat comedic romp in the fields of death and destruction. It is very interesting to see how the main charecters react when switched into another persons life style. And any movie where you get to see both Travolta and Cage be both hero and villian gets my vote. It is also fantasticlly directed by John Woo, no less.
