Summary: YeeeeeeeeHAW!
Review: I'm not sure what movie some of the other reviewers watched. Maybe they were suffering that old syndrome of "The sequel must be bigger/badder/faster/stronger/etc". Personally, I don't get hung up on such expectations and thus enjoyed the film for itself.

Anyone who goes to this or other such films expecting a cerebral plot is in the wrong theater. This film, like its predecessor, is all about kicking back and enjoying the chemistry between Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan. Chan is his dependable, stuntmongering self and Wilson just gets better with every film (even the bad ones).

As for the racy innuendoes, my 8-yr-old and 10-yr-old didn't pick up on them so no harm, no foul.

While I wish the filmmakers hadn't taken so many liberties with history (such as the inclusion of Charlie Chaplin before his time), I was willing to let that go and enjoy the show. I laughed harder at this flick than I have in years.

I actually enjoyed the sequel more than the original. The sequel is a bit more polished and the actors more at ease with each other (no surprise)...

Summary: shanghai knights better than the first
Review: shanghai knights is a great movie if you like comedy and action, but has a little less fight sequences than other jackie chan movies. although many of the fight clips are computer simulated this movie is still better than the first. my only major complaint is that most of the jokes center around the characters (jackie and owen) pretending to be nowaday famous people, ex: owen being sherlock holmes and a police detective name is sir arthur conan doyle. just a few jokes like that but overall a great movie.

Summary: Please stop the hurt.
Review: I'm a huge Jackie Chan fan. However, this movie made me want to cry. I enjoyed Shanghai Noon, but this was terrible. The action was sparce and was not choreographed well at all. The plot was labored and overly silly. Owen Wilson's character seemed like an afterthought in this movie, tagged on at the last minute so that they could continue the series and get some name recognition. In the last movie, Wilson seems like an integral part of the story, but here he's just a goofy sidekick, along for the ride and maybe to advance the plot a little bit. The villain is excellent though, and that makes up for some of the terribleness of the other characters.

The "cameos" of famous people from the period in this movie are silly. I'll buy the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Jack the Ripper, but tagging Charlie Chaplain on at the end was too much. Also, I happened to really like Doyle's character. It would have been nice to see more of him.

As a Jackie Chan fan, this movie was disappointing. The stunts were sparce and unimpressive. His character seems to have completely changed since Shanghai Noon with absolutely no explaination. In fact, none of the characters seem the same on this second time around.

There were only two moments that I enjoyed in this entire film. The first was during the large fight scene in London when they fight with the umbrellas. The second was during the blooper reel. There's a nod there to when he yelled at Chris Tucker when his cell phone went off during the filming of Rush Hour 2. Other than that, nothing. This movie was uncomfortable to watch and not up to the high standard that I think of when I think of Jackie Chan.

Summary: Romping Around London.
Review: SHANGHAI KNIGHTS isn't as fresh and original as SHANGHAI NOON. However, it still is a lot of fun. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson make a great onscreen buddy duo and the movie revolves more around their character's chemistry rather than the story they are involved. I especially enjoyed the references to great classical comedians (Keaton, Chaplin, and Lloyd) not to mention the hilarious allusions to more modern films (INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE anyone?). The plot of the movie is full of holes and historical inaccuracies. However, this is a Jackie Chan buddy picture, so the plot naturally takes a backseat.

My only disappointment in the film was that it used a lot of crude humor. There are tons of ... induendos and there are a couple of risque scenes (Roy's dream about Chon's sister, e.g.). The running jokes ... became old right after the first time they were made and the continual use and reference to it, dragged the action and comic speed of the film down. Yippee-Yi-O-Ay Cowboy!

Summary: "Shanghai Knights" not to good
Review: ... I love Jackie Chan! But he was not apealing in this movie. The action was dull and the humor was sour. This movie was dry and I dont really recomnd it. Unless your board and have nothing else to do.

Summary: great fun
Review: I seen this recently and I loved it. No great hidden meanings, nothing to shock you or make you sad you seen the movie, just plain fun.

Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan reprise their roles form "Shanghai Noon". The chemistry between the two is great and adding Fann Wong as "John Wayne"'s sister is a stroke of genius. Much homage is paid to various stars - Gene Kelly, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, just to name a few.

Chon Wang's (Jackie Chan) father is killed protecting the Great Seal of China. An evil English lord is plotting an overthrow of the Queen. Ray O'Bannon (Owen Wilson) has chosen a "career path" that causes him a lot of trouble. The resolution of these (and many more) problems is a rollicking good time.

If you're looking for pure escapist fun, this is the flick for you. And _please_ stay til the end to see the outtakes - they are worth the price of admission by themselves.

Summary: Better than the first
Review: Once again Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson team up to make a rock-em, sock-em action flick that is funny from start to finish. After Chon's (Jakie) father is killed. His sister follows the killer to England in an effort to enact some revenge. When Chon finds out, he himself travels to England to help his sister. But he needs help, and who better than Roy O'Bannon (Wilson).

Fun action scenes, hilarious outakes, and wonderful cinomatagraphy makes this movie simply amazing. The movie is great. If you are a fan of Jackie Chan and his movies, then this one is a definate must. It is full of almost non-stop laughs. A great sequel to an already great movie.

Summary: Funnier than the first!
Review: This was a great movie that surpassed the first one in the laugh factor. I have never laughed harder during a movie. I liked the mocking of great historical moments (i.e. when Owen Wilson snickers at the idea of an actor named John Wayne or investing in the automobile). The Jack the Ripper play was too early for the film, but otherwise this was a great movie.
