Summary: Freddy vs. Jason - The Ultimate Deathmatch
Review: I've never seen the Nightmare series except for "New Nightmare". Atleast in this one, there were no ridiculous bikini wearing bimbos. I always hated those swimsuits that barely cover the bare essentials. Now I know how Jason could be killed, in his mind. Freddy was able to show what happened the day Jason drowned; and all this time I thought it was at night like his mother described in "Friday the 13th".All they would need is Michael Myers and we'd have the greatest Triple Threat Deathmatch. In my opinion, the "Nightmare", "Halloween", and "Hellraiser" series were the only real horror movies worth seeing.

Summary: Jason and Freddy still my favorite characters
Review: Well when I first heard about it I thought it was going to be dumb then it was my husbands birthday and he wanted to go see it. I thought I hope it is worth the money, so we went and actually it was and I liked the movie very much. It wasn't what I thought it'd be I thought it would bomb. And it didn't. My husband and I really, really liked the movie. I really liked the way the writer's of this movie went with it. The story the plot was very well written. The actors weren't bad either. You just have to go see it to know what I am talking about. There was plenty of action in the movie from the moment it started all the way to the end. I heard some people felt that it should have been Jason vs Michael Meyers. I think maybe but for one thing the Halloween movies I think were [messed up] up part 3 had nothing to do with Michael Meyers so really there is no part 3. So anyways I think the better men were selected best to beat each others brains out, and as a matter of fact when I was young I use to think why couldn't they make a movie like that and they did finally. Also I would like to say they make a better team because Jason killed in reality and said nothing while Freddy killed in dreams and talked a lot of [stuff]. As for Michael he was more like a copy cat of not speaking like Jason. So that's why I say I think they chose the right characters. This movie marks #8 for Freddy and #11 for Jason but then again Jason had a head start his first movie came out in the late 70's while Freddy's was early 80's. I still remember when it first came out I was in Junior High. I don't know but I see this movie as a sort of tribute to these two icons. Michael Meyers would have been one as well if the prequills weren't [messed up] up. I just hope they don't come up with Freddy vs Jason vs Michael but then again I don't know it could be interesting. So anyway I recommend you go see Freddy vs Jason movie you might not be disappointed. I wasn't.

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason....For the fans
Review: First off, I'm writing this review as an avid fan of 13 years, in hopes to shed light on the true way to view and enjoy this film. I'll begin with being totally blunt. If you haven't seen any of the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th movies, chances are you're going to hate become frustrated with the movie, since the film packs over 20 years of mythology from both films into an hour and a half gore fest.On the other hand, the movie has a unique way of not making newbies to the series totally confussed. The past and origins of both freddy and jason are discussed in good, sumarized detail in the film. So although you might not know the location of every birth mark on Jason's back, you can still understand that you don't mess with his f*#@ing lake. I'll start now on how to properly enjoy the film. First off, there's little to no plot. No actresses or actors you've probably heard of, Poor acting, Corny lines, loads of unecessary nudity and sex, and enough gore to fill a swimming pool with. And that's what makes it a great horror flick. The problem with the newstand critics is that they're going into this movie without the mindset that this is a movie staring Freddy Kruger and Jason Voorhees and not Micheal Caine. You cannot fairly judge this movie like you would, say "A Beautiful Mind" for the same reason you could not compare "Platoon" with "The Naked Gun". One's meant to make you more in touch with your savy, emotional side while the other is meant to make you laugh your ass off. Two totally different movies. On that note, Fans of both series will eat up this movie. All the trademarks(boiler room, crystal lake, machete, fedora, etc.) are all here, including some hidden cameos. My only complaint with the film is that it wasn't the knockdown, pay per view, cage match that the advertising went for. You might think that with it being "Freddy vs. Jason" that it would be just a 90 minute long street fight. The movie only contains two main fights. Granted, the fights both range well over 5 minutes,creatively choreographed, and are nothing but action/gore packed. For that reason, the film redeems it's lack of encounters between the two titans. The movie has another interesting aspect. It's almost like watching two movies at the same time. Freddy and Jason both have side stories in the movies, so you can see freddy in his classic gig of sending the reality train off a cliff and also see jason stalking horny teens in the dark. And pardon me while I rant here. To all those who are wanting Freddy vs. Leatherface and Micheal vs. Jason, the film makers aren't out to piss you off. In truth, the only reason Freddy vs. Jason really came around is that New Line owns the rights to both franchises. And honestly, don't you think you have more productive things to do than hating life because you can hear Micheal's piano tune and Jason's ghost whisper in the same frame? Like leaving your basement?

Summary: Freddy Vs. Jason - WOW!!
Review: I watched this movie on opening day. The lines were outside the theaters and down the block. Everyone who came out of the movie theater to the showing just before mine had huge smiles on their faces and were yapping about how awesome the movie was. Now I believe there were three types of people who went to this movie: Freddy Fans, Jason Fans, and Horror Fans. Since everyone was excited and liked the movie, regardless of the type of fan they are, I really expected this movie to blow me out of the theater, And that it did! This movie is not disappointing and it is one movie in which I will be catching a second round viewing at the theaters. Ken Kirzinger does an outstanding job as Jason. Also, Ronny Yu struts his stuff in this movie with loads of blood and gore as well as Robert Englund starring as Freddy. If you are a Freddy Fan, a Jason Fan, or just a hardcore Horror Fan, you will LOVE this movie!!!! WOW!!!!

Summary: Doesn't disappoint.
Review: First things first, Ronnie Yu is an incredibly talented director. He resurrected Chucky in Bride of Chucky, now he does the same thing to those venerable warhorses, Freddie and Jason. The special effects are something to be seen. Garish, gory, bloody and in some instances spectacular. After all what does one go to a movie like this for? It's philosophical underpinnings? The story is just a set up for the showdown. It's rife with interesting themes but not a whole lot of coherence. But there are a whole lot of set pieces that more than justify some of the tedium between. Jason at a rave party is hilarious, so is a sequence set in a mental hospital where the victims of Freddy have been given a drug to suppress their dreams. This is some trippy, horror. The final battle is kind of like WWF crossed with Mortal Kombat. The final scene is a kick and probably the indicator of a sequel to follow. As long as the horror and the humor are as expertly presented as in this movie I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch.

Summary: I've Actually Seen the Movie! (so listen to me...)
Review: Apparantly I'm the first person to write a review that has actually seen the movie... so here goes:
First of all, let me say that I was definitely surprised by how good this flick actually was. I went in expecting a three-star movie, and was prepared for worse (much worse), Having seen ALL the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St. installments (and each's gradual decline), coupled with the modern treatment of the last two Halloween movies, it wasn't easy to expect more. But I had underestimated this one. It goes right back to each series' roots and eliminates all the stigmas created by the quickly pumped-out and underthought sequels. Instead, each character has his original stigmas, weaknesses, and characteristics. Most notably, Freddy is darker (in looks, sound and attitude) and more like his original incarnation (not the goofy cartoon character he later became). I was also pleasantly surprised by the simple, yet rational, way each character was resurrected...
The teen stalking and killing, for the most part, is fairly usual of the "nu-horror" stuff, overdone and cheesy (but an entertaining cheesy, that you can laugh at) but there a few cool standouts... And the buckets of dark, goopy blood spraying everywhere are a nice departure of many of the newer horrors movies' cleaner stuff. However, where this movie really stands-out is the fight sequences between the two slashers themselves. They're worth the entire ticket price and all the time taken. Their sequences definitely had a lot of time and thought put into them to make them the highlights of this movie. All together the movie is greatly entertaining: it's funny, gory, well-done, filled with some great effects, not overly-cheesy, and (most importantly) stays true the original roots of the slashers themselves. Fans of the two series' should definitely check it out.

Summary: Pretty Good, But I Expected MUCH More
Review: I, along, with many, many other people was more than excited to hear that this movie was finally being made. I've been a huge fan of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Stree films for a long time now, so I knew it would be extremely interesting to see the films' villains, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees duke it out once and for all. What I got was not what I expected. The story centers around Freddy's quest to become strong again after his identity and legend were wiped from the memories of the people in the town he once lived and killed mercilessly. Freddy knows that he cannot just start attacking people again, so he enlists the help of the incredibly strong (and still very mad after all these years) Jason Voorhees to carry-out his killing until he can become strong enough. Once Freddy regains his strength, he no longer has any use for Jason's services and must dispose of him. Probably the best parts in this film are the scenes where Freddy and Jason fight. I won't give away who wins, but you'll either be shocked or disappointed. The cast includes the wonderful Robert Englund who reprises his role as Freddy and newcomer Ken Kirzinger taking over the role of Jason. Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child does her best to get into acting by portraying the bad..., foul-mouthed, snob, Kia. Pretty much any actress could have played her role, so she should have been left out of this film. All in all, Freddy Vs. Jason was a pretty good movie. Jason still walked around silently stalking victims, while Freddy seemed darker and angrier than he had been in previous movies (he always seemed to become cornier with each sequel). I will also say that there are a lot of funny parts. Some may even say that they laughed more than they jumped from fright. The funniest line has to be towards the end when Kia confronts Freddy. I still believe that more could have been done in terms of the plot, but the cast and crew worked with what they had and put out a film that will either be hated or loved by fans and non-fans alike.

Review: I was very much looking forward to FvJ. In fact, for two weeks prior to it I scheduled a horror movie marathon for myself. Every day I watched a new Nightmare on Elm Street or a new Friday the 13th until I rewatched all of them. It was like a countdown. =D I'm happy to say that the movie itself did not disappoint me. Though I myself am more of a Freddy fan, Jason was most impressive in the film as well. Stalking horny teenagers through a cornfield while on fire... wow, just WOW *dreamy sigh*. Nobody's safe awake or asleep in this one, since Freddy and Jason work back-to-back, killing on all fronts. Old locations are revisited, new ones discovered, and there are fresh plot twists to boot. If you are a fan of Freddy or Jason, you will not be let down. Plenty o'blood to go around.
