Summary: This dvd looks to be cool
Review: Before I go on, let me state that the movie was awesome and that I've already once wrote a review for the movie and that this review is for the dvd only. It seems that this dvd will turn out to be a great package. Its gonna include lots of extra stuff. It will be a PLATINUM SERIES 2 disc set that features deleted/alternate endings, commentaries, documentaries, and even music videos!!!!! All of that x-tra stuff looks to be x-citing. I bet Freddy and Jason will be proud that they've been put on an awesome disc. This dvd looks to be the best dvd from both series. I am definetly gonna get it when released.

Review: personally i didnt have huge expectations for this movie so i wasnt disappointed at all. it was great. its typical 80s horror movie stuff but thats exactly what i expected. also had some nudity but doesnt every horror movie worth watching. i think the ending leaves it open for more but isnt that another thing you would expect. i think it would be great if the next one was called freddy vs jason vs michael myers. now that would be worth watching

Summary: Not As Dumb As Jason X But A Close Runner Up...
Review: This movie was WRETCHED!!! I don't know how it ended since I walked out halfway thru it in COMPLETE ANNOYANCE... There is not a suitable word to describe the acting in this movie... IT PROBABLY CLOCKS IN AS THE WORST ACTING I HAVE EVER, EVER, EVER SEEN IN ANY JASON OR FREDDY MOVIE... And the WRETCHED acting wasn't even funny or campy or even mildly amusing and IT WASN'T EVEN SCARY OR TENSION BUILDING OR SUSPENSFUL... Just toss in a lot of gratuitous gore and skin so it causes us to forget how WRETCHED this movie really is... MR. YU... TRY AGAIN, BUCKO!!!!! I can't BELIEVE this is the same guy who filmed BRIDE OF CHUCKY which was pretty good... It had ZERO charm or atmosphere or humor... TO BE BLUNT, IT WAS W-R-E-T-C-H-E-D!!!!! Don't waste your money at the DOLLAR MOVIE seeing this piece of crud...

Summary: Good idea, bad script!
Review: If Michael Moore would be a movie critic, he most probably would have said: "Shame on you Mr. Yu!". Well, that's what I thought after I came out of the movie!!! I think after 13 years of working on ideas, scripts, etc. this movie really turned out sloppy. I'm a big Jason & Freddy fan and I don't think they deserved such a bad story. It seems that New Line just finally wanted to bring out this movie and didn't really care about the storyline. Not only that the script was bad, but comparing the actors (and oh, my those silly nonsense dialogues!!!) to the one from the earlier movies, one is left thinking: Did they win the roles in the lottery?! The same questions pops up (for die-hard fans) with Jason. Should it have been Hodder or can Kirzinger do it as well? The answer is, Hodder IS Jason. He knows how to portray him and spread "life" into him. Kirzinger's Jason is sort of "Down-the-drain-valium-addicted-Jason". He wasn't aggressive enough, nor did could you feel his mad-deeply-black soul, such as in Jason X.
(By the way, why did they make Jason look like a [wimp] compared to Freddy?! Freddy gets to kick Jason more than the other way round). Of course the bloody scenes were really neat. Jason's first big act on the cornfield is cool, the big finale gorier than gory (and of course funny) and Freddy's at his best, when he "takes care" of his children. Unfortunately those are the only scenes that carry the movie and that's why I only give it three stars. Another director, another script, (just slightly) better actors and this movie would have kicked asses! Maybe next time...but then, please Mr. Yu, keep your hands of those two installments!

Review: They could have Aliens vs Prediter, Batman vs. Superman, Chucky vs The Lepracon, Michial Myers vs. The Blair Witch, Robocop vs. The Terminator, Hitler vs. Nepolian, Jack the ripper vs. The headless horseman. This is the first of it's kind, I don't look at it as a draw, I see it as a Double K.O. Videoeta.com is antisapating Freddy VS. Jason 2, I would be thrilled to see these two fight until their's nothing left, again.

Summary: Solid but niether good or bad
Review: Coming from a Nightmare on Elm Street fan this movie is a solid 90's/00's horror movie but way below average compared to Freddy's earlier films....altough the film will qualify as one of the best Jason movies made. In this movie there was hardly any polt line what so ever, unknown actors who could barely act, but as always Robert Englund did an awesome job at playing Freddy..Overall the film will be a good movie to rent and watch with friends or relitives for fun.

Summary: A let down.
Review: Flat and dull from start to finish. Contrived story, Z grade acting, and a Freddy that seemed more like an impersonation than the menacing character from from the first 3 movies. The mask just didn't look right, the voice was inconsistent, and there wasn't much in the way of clever lines or imagination. If you thought this was good - then have a look at Elm Street 3 (if you haven't already) and see the real thing.

Summary: Freddy Vs. Jason -- My BEST REVIEW for this movie!
Review: Nightmare on Elm Street was originally written and directed by Wes Craven, and Friday The 13th was originally created by Sean S. Cunningham. This film, Freddy VS. Jason, disappointingly, was not directed by Wes Craven, but directed by a fairly new director Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky, Formula 51), although, the film did keep its original producer from the Friday The 13th series, Mr. Cunningham. His favoritism became apparent to me while viewing midway through the film I was lead to favor for that psychotic kid who was bullied by his peers at Camp Crystal Lake and drowned because the park rangers were too busy to notice, Jason Vorhees, was presumably the only hero who could stop evil child molester who was burned by vengeful neighborhood parents and then returned from the dead as a dream demon to haunt and kill kids in their nightmares, Freddy Kruegar. The movie did excellent achieving this continuity between both legendary slashers giving their backgrounds in the movie, and I would say that anyone who has never seen either of the slasher series prior would not need to. For the most part, acting was fairly decent. There were many new faces on the screen, and the girl who plays as Laurie, appears much like Brittany Murphy, and why the casting director chose a new face similar to Ms. Murphy without casting her to begin with is beyond my logic.
For reasons that I was disappointed in the movie circulates around insufficient drama throughout the film. I believe even as, horror fan, that every horror movie should display a well amount of drama in order to show importance of heroics and bravery against the most frightful thing in nature. This movie did poorly in displaying any drama, and lacked emphasis on the tension between Laurie and her father, as supposedly Laurie's father was working with a mental facility and has Laurie's x-boyfriend committed there because he knew of Freddy Kruegar. Of course, after Freddy's assumed death from Nightmare On Elm Street Part 6, he was never able to resurrect himself because he was forgotten, and the police of Springwood made certain of this. Until Freddy came up with the idea to resurrect Jason from his "sleep", while being in his nightmare portraying as his psychotic mother convincing him to begin scaring and killing Springwood's kids, in order for Freddy to return to their nightmares. As anyone could tell, the first half of this movie focused primarily on re-introducing and returning Jason and Freddy. For an hour's worth of time to do this, sure it was done well, but was it necessary? Anyone who would venture to this see this film, by my assumption they've already been introduced to Jason or Freddy. Meanwhile, the last half of this movie focused primarily on the battle and rage between Freddy and Jason, for reasons that Freddy was envious of Jason killing most of his victims, the villains themselves were so occupied with each other I almost forgot about the real innocent victims who had survived thus far.
Now as to majority of horror fans, most like to see a great deal of suspense, and of course a great deal of creative killings. I would say creatively, this film does a rather poor job in displaying any creative killings, and Freddy entering the dream of a pothead is cheesy and disappointing compared to Heather's panic for her son in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. However, in comparison to past sequels, the movie does an excellent job making up for the pathetic ness that infested the sagas. On the other hand, for a film that has a soundtrack including Seether and Slipknot, I would expect to be horrified much more than what I was. I wasn't even anticipated upon the return of Freddy and Jason; shouldn't this be the nightmare of all nightmares?
In conclusion, my only explanation for this movie doing so well in the box office would be that the Freddy and Jason fans were so tempted and determined to know who would conquer and who would be defeated. I have to laugh hysterically at this, because anyone who knows movies should have been acquainted with some Hollywood politics. For an industry that has spent time and effort and made so much money off of both series, Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th, would realize with an audience of large fans balancing between the two slashers, how could this possibly turn out without disappointing any fans. However, I must admit after viewing this film and already being reassured to my own ending's prediction, I wanted to see one of the Friday The 13th films. In last but not ever the least, I give the film two out of five stars according to the formal critical evaluation invented by Siscal and Ebert.

Summary: This was a good movie, but...
Review: I am a huge fan of Jason, he is my favorite horror icon. The Friday the 13th movies are the best of all time! So naturally, I was fairly excited to see this movie. Overall, it was very well done...though not without the inevitable corny lines, sex scenes, etc. The battle scenes were very cool and I think that this movie has enough in it to satisfy fans of both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series. Although this film started out fairly slow, it did pick up and become interesting. If you expect this to be a horror movie, however, you will be surprised to find that it is actually more of a comedy/satire (with lots of blood and guts). While this film is really nothing unique or special, it is an entertaining work to check out. MY ADVICE (if you have not seen this film): if you have seen any Friday or Elm Street films and consider yourself a fan of Jason, Freddy or both, go see this film in theaters and have fun. For those of you who aren't familiar with either series: see the originals first, get aquainted with Jason and/or Freddy and then rent this when it comes out on video. DO NOT SEE THIS BEFORE VIEWING ONE AND/OR BOTH OF THE ORIGINAL FILMS (and maybe some of the sequels). If you see Freddy vs. Jason first, you may be confused about the characters and you certainly won't have as much fun with this movie. Now, on to some complaints I have about this film. Before I begin here, I should point out that since I am a diehard fan of Jason, I have some bias which may be reflected in my comments. All right, here we go! First of all, Freddy was clearly favored by filmakers. The story was mostly about him and what he was trying to do, with Jason serving as his puppet in the beginning. Luckily, Jason is only a puppet at first and Freddy finds that he can't control the masked killer. While Jason was as cool as ever, I don't think it was fair that Freddy got in more hits and the main story line. Just my opinion. Also, one thing that really irked me was that they made Jason afraid of water! Come on people...Jason fears nothing! He is in the lake a lot and he often kills people during thunder storms (which implies that he has to walk out in the rain, so making him afraid of a little water is just pathetic)! I repeat: JASON FEARS NOTHING! Now, for a quick spoiler (do not read on if you don't want to know)! I was very satisfied with the end of this film because Jason emerges from lake after the battle, unharmed, machete in hand...ready to kill again. And he is holding Freddy's head, which was the ultimate justice for me after the whole story practically revolved around Freddy. My personal opinion is that Jason emerged as more of a victor here, even though the battle is technically a draw. One more thing: where was Kane Hodder?! Well, that was my rant! I may sound like I dislike this film, but overall, it was really well done and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it except for the couple of details I mentioned above. I hope I was helpful to anyone interested in this movie!

Summary: Is That All There Is?
Review: Freddy Vs. Jason is just as interesting as the famous Ali vs. Antonio Ianoki much, pitting boxer against wrestler. In the end, it was a boring draw. As I recall, After this bout, thousands of fans walked away from Shea Stadium in New York City shaking their heads in sheer disgust and disbelief. . . . . Just like you will after watching this film. Beleive me, it is totally uninspired. As a matter of fact, this is one of those films that Mike Nelson and his pals, Tom Servo and Crow, will eventually have fun ripping apart on Science Mystery Theater 3000. However, because I like both Freddy and Jason, I give this film two stars -- one for Jason, and one for Freddy.
