Summary: Gotta Get It !!!
Review: When this DVD gets released, It will go along perfectly with the Nightmare on Elm Street DVD Box Set & when all you fellow Freddy/Jason fans out there get this DVD, Don't forget to get the DVD of Jason Goes To Hell, cause if you remember at the end of that movie, not only was Jason heading for Hell, a part of Freddy is shown there as well, so therefore Jason Goes To Hell + Nightmare On Elm Street DVD Box Set + Freddy Vs. Jason will be the complete ending story!

Summary: Don't listen to the other viewers!
Review: I recently saw this movie the other night and it "was horrible". It wasn't scary. I mean Jason and Freddy don't even look the same as in the other series they look older. Stick with the first Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street they are best ones not this one it's the worst out of all my friend and I walked out of the theater after five minutes of the movie. It's a waste of money don't see it.

Summary: worth the wait?
Review: Child murderer Freddy Krueger (of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET fame)resurrects woodsy summer camp stalker Jason Voorhees (FRIDAY THE 13TH series) to murder a few of the new generation Elm Street kids in order to spread the fear of his name. But when Jason goes rogue a bloody showdown sparks between the two genre icons. Forget originality, this slasher yarn plays its formula just like any other modern teen horror; dumb dialogue, t&a, graphic voilence and cliches galore. The imagination and freshness of the NIGHTMARE series has vanished. Still, give it small credit for England's good as always performance (as the first title lead) and an action charged finale. Hard to believe this was in development for "eleven" years. Sean S. Cunningham (FRIDAY THE 13TH creator) produced.

Summary: Less Scary, More Funny, and Obviously Does Not Pretend
Review: I admit the basic idea is very corny, but still "Freddy vs, Jason" turned out better than I had expected, with decent scare and tongue-in-cheek humor. If you're not particularly a fan of horror films, you might just grin and dismiss the film as the desperate remedy for dying franchise -- like "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" or "Billy the Kid vs. Dracula" (yes, there were), but actually "Freddy av. Jason" got more than $80 million in USA alone. Now that is scary.

The story is, to be honest, nothing better than excuse for bringing back two horror icons together. It goes like this. Freddy Krueger is forgotten by teenagers now. Which means, he is powerless, and it's humiliating to him. So, he picks up a fall guy who can cause bloody mess among the people on the Elm Street again. Who should be that? Why, it is Jason Voorhees, who seems gullible enough to him.

So Freddy (kind of) deceives Jason, who starts to kill, but Jason turns table (perhaps, unintentionally) and gets unstoppable. Now it's time for Freddy to confront this guy in hockey mask, the time for the final battle.

Meanwhile, the hapless teenagers are not all helpless. Lori, one of the recent surviver of Jason's killing, is the heroine to battle the TWO enemies while her missing boyfriend Will comes back from institute where he had been locked in (the reason being too complicated to write down here). The deadly battle between Freddy,Jason, and the boys/girls is presented as the film's showdown.

The film is sometimes scary, but that scare is nothing special. In fact, you might find some parts of the film darkly funny, such as the scenes in which Jason is thrown high up in the air, hitting the inside of building as if a pinball (and you hear the sound of pinball machine, and wisecracking Freddy saying 'Tilt'). The story is just a series of set-pieces -- teenagers having a party, making love, and so on. And they get what they get, but according to slightly different rules of horror films.

The actors know what they are doing; loudly screaming and wildly running, and giving appropriately silly dialogues including those of Freddy who goes before Monica Keena: 'I should warn you, princess....'

Well, Robert Englund is as 'Freddy' as ever, mixing his now trademark mannerism with good comic sense. The cast is aptly chosen, with Ms. Keena (the 'princess' was in Gothic horror version of "Snow White") as Loli and Jason Ritter as her love (his father late John Ritter was seen in the director Ronny Yu's "Bride of Chucky"). Plus you get Katharine 'Ginger Snaps' Isabelle as Loli's friend Gibb and Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child.

And so, which wins?

Summary: Guess what David J Heinrich, this was a good movie
Review: Before I go on, this is a long overdue review. so If anybody is wondering who David J Heinrich is, he is some guy who and written one of the very first reviews for this movie. If you search for his review, it will be somewhere in the very back. Anyway, he gave this movie 1 star and he hadn't seen the movie. And not only that, he wrote a whole bunch of nonesense of why this would be a bad movie. We'll let me say this; Mr. Heinrich, you were wrong. no wait, YOU WERE VERY VERY WRONG. I have seen your other reviews, and you seem like a good writer. But If you want to trash talk a movie, then I suggest you go see it first before you post a review about. And if you don't like that suggestion, then I suggest you just shut your mouth. There are others who had given this 1 star, but atleast they had seen it and you didn't. And not only that I do not even see many 1 star reviews. Now for my thoughts on the movie
I too wasn't expecting this movie to great (I was a just expecting it to be just plain ok). It is guarantedd that New line can make a great freddy movie but I never thought New Line Cinema could ever make a great Jason movie, considering how they made Jason Goes to Hell (JGTH) and Jason X. I'm not saying that JGTH and Jason x were bad movies, but they weren't that great either. Now FINALLY has new line made a great Jason movie but its also the BEST Jason flick I have ever seen. It is action packed. I won't tell the plot only because there are so many others who had written that and by now I think everybody knows what it is about. It also has some humor in it, and extremely entertaining. This is the flick that Paramount (the company who first owned the F13 series) could never make. Nightmare on elm street has always been good, and F13 is now starting to get back up there again. Thank you Ronny Yu (The director) for making this great installment. It is gonna be a must own dvd and I suggest everybody should see it and ignore guys like David J Heinrich.

Summary: Kickass movie!
Review: In my opinion, this was one of the best horror movies that New Line Cinema made. It was a great idea to have two of the greatest slashers in history battle each other. It was a very great idea to have Freddy manipulate Jason causing awsome conflict. I believe that New Line Cinema should try make one called Michael Myers vs. Jason. Now THAT would be one heck of a movie since they're the greatest slashers around. IN short: THIS MOVIE ROCKED!!!!

Summary: Here are the Details
Review: While I have not seen the DVD yet, I have seen the movie and I do know what's going to be on the DVD.

For starters, don't buy this if you're expecting a horror film. I think Ronny Yu, the director, knew what he was doing by making this film dark humor, like "Bride of Chucky." In a prologue that manages not to seem tacked on, Freddy of "Nightmare on Elm Street" fame informs us that he plans to return to the dreams of the Elm Street kids by ressurecting Jason of the "Friday the 13th" movies and having him kill people on Elm Street, therefore making people remember the old Nightmare deaths.

This movie isn't smart or scary, but it is funny and entertaining. There was only one disturbing part..., but the movie manages to keep everything else moving. There are also marks back to other movies from both series. The movie isn't perfect, with problems involving distance, time, and how strong Freddy's supposed to be, but these kinds of problems have plagued both series from at least their second sequels and onward, so why bother complaining?

As for the DVD, I can't comment on the picture or audio. I know that there is no DTS for the audio, and that there should be anamorphic widescreen.

The extras will include a commentary by Ronny Yu, Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger that should be fairly entertaining, if not informative. On the second disc, there are 18 deleted scenes, including the original opening and ending, all of which feature their own commentary tracks. There is also a Behind-the-Scenes documentary, TV spots, theatrical trailer, storyboards, and more. It's pretty loaded, being a New Line Platinum DVD, and seems to be worth the money considered how much has been packed into it.

Those I cannot recommend this DVD to are those who are loyal fans to either series, as the movie destroys some of the things built up in each, therefore making all the extras and the film itself something to disregard. As for casual fans, those who dislike horror films, people who like movies, or fans who are willing to forgive some discrepencies in favor of a fun, entertaining film, this DVD is for you. I know I'll be one of the first people to pick it up.

Summary: NOT Scary - wildly entertaining
Review: Heeeeeee's back! But are we talking about Freddy or Jason? Well, both have returned to chase the unsuspecting oversexed teenagers around the neighborhood, slashing and chopping and spitting out some of the worst dialogue this side of Caligula.

All the old plot lines have come together - a psycho ward, dark buildings, squeaky stairs, the gals screaming their heads off (literally), the dumb guys who think they can beat either of the two, the party, the entrapment. It is all done tongue in cheek and despite the sudden swell of music or the punctuated noise, we know that in the end, a few of the brave souls will live to die another day.

The girls are still as dumb as ever, entering deeper and deeper into dark rooms that no one with an IQ over 25 would enter in the daytime. And despite all the carnage, things seem to go on almost unperturbed. There is even an attempt at some sympathy for our fallen anti-heroes. Great flick for a Friday night.
