Summary: A great movie on a great DVD!
Review: After 12 years since " Jason Goes To Hell" when Freddy took Jason's mask at the end, this movie has finally came after years of false rumors and diffrerent script drafts this long rumored battle has finally became a reality. This movie is about Freddy Krueger ( Robert Englund) who has been banished into hell for all eternity and is forgotten by the people of Springwood ( his hometown), he is now using Jason Voorhees to slaughter the kids of elm street. When a group of teens ( Monica Keena, Kelly Rowland, Jason Ritter) discover bizarre murders in their town conducted by the mute hulking zombie, they figure out Freddy Krueger is the one who is controlling Jason, but Jason discovers he is being used and battles against Freddy in the dreamworld and reality.
A satisifying rush of gore, great performances, excellent special effects, black humor and action that lives up to it's hype and was definitely worth waiting 11 years of this movie to happen. Monica Keena is truly beautiful, i wish she would be a girl to invade my dreams just as long as Freddy doesn't interfere.
The DVD is quite excellent with two Easter Eggs, The production documentaries on how this movie was made including devolopment hell on how long this movie took, deleted and alternate scenes, Commentary, Storyboard galleries, Still Galleries, featurettes and publicity. So if your a fan of the horror genre, then you know you must own this DVD.
Coming this year is another cinematic battle between evil and evil " Alien Vs. Predator" and there will probably be " Pinhead" vs. " Michael" or " Leprechaun" vs " Troll".

Summary: Got Added to my DVD collection.
Review: They finally got a decent script written , stck to the original mythology of each character and did a good job with this one. The openining scene is classic slasher flick material. The Scene with Jason coming back had great effects. The acting could have been better but was up to standard with most horror movies. I'm a fan of both Jason and Freddy and i really enjoyed this movie.
I absolutely thought the dream scene in the police station was brilliant. I don't want to give it away but if you've seen the dvd you know which one i mean with the missing children on the bulletin board, absolute brilliance. Some of the dialogue was bad, some of the acting was bad and what was up with the guy that looked an acted just like "Jay" from the Kevin Smith movies? It would have been ten times better if Kane Hodder had played Jason. He just lacked that maniacal sense of humor, when it comes to killing he has in other movies. I own the two Wes Craven Nightmare's and most of the Jason movies and this will definitely be added to my collection. Robert Englund was great in this. I have to admit after watching the deleted scenes that what the director cut SHOULD have been cut out. This movie also would have gotten five stars and been better if the blood effects hadn't looked so fake. Like when the kids father is on the swing, that effect looked awful. It's great for what it is.
I think they did the best job they could with giving the fans of both movies what they wanted. Think i'll watch it again.

Summary: for Greg Downing
Review: This is just to amend a misconception Greg Downing has. In his review he speaks about a scene that he claims was cut from Freddy vs. Jason. The scene he describes is actually from Jason X. Hope this helps.

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason One Of The Best Movies!!
Review: Even if you never seen any Jason or Freddy movies, you will get a good understanding on what they are about. The movies tells you about how these two evil monsters came to be. Starting with Freddy whom is using Jason to gain power and strike fear in the eyes of the children of elm street. The killings are just crazy and sometimes funny. They really did a good job in this movie. It took them a long time to make this movie and it is just perfect. I honestly think its better then any other Jason/Freddy movie. The blood looks fake but it doesn't matter cause you still enjoy seeing the killings happening. The music in this movie is just as great as the movie. I was watching the music video today of "How Can I Live" by lll nino and that song is just so awesome. You have to hear it. The deleted scenes are alright..I was expecting a bit more. This is a dvd to own and hopefully there is a part 2 to this. enjoy it!

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason vs. Laurie's Dad
Review: I was very impressed with Freddy vs. Jason, and in it's own cheesy way, it was masterfully done. Not only did it manage to have an incredible final showdown between the two horror kings, but it also managed to excell in all areas in which the NIGHTMARE and FRIDAY films are judged: violence, gore, nudity, comic relief , etc. Seeing as how recent slasher flicks have been seriously toned down since the late 90's, it was refreshing to see a true gory epic.

In the film, all the children of Elm Street who ever made contact with the infamous Freddy Kruger have been locked up in a mental institution and force-fed Hypocil, an expeirimental drug which stops the patient from dreaming. Meanwhile, the police of Elm Street have erased all records on the Kruger murders and denied this "dream demon" of ever existing. The purpose of all this? Freddy can only haunt your dreams if you fear him. So if nobody fears him... get it now?

So, in a last effort attempt by Freddy to resume his killing spree, he goes into the dreams of Jason Vorhees, in his grave after the events of "JASON GOES TO HELL" (In the FRIDAY timeline, JASON X actually takes place long after FREDDY VS. JASON). Once in Jason's skull, he convinces him to attack the children of Elm Street to start the terror back up.

Here's the big question you may have: SO WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING???
An excellent question indeed, after all, they want the same thing: to kill teenagers. You see, after Freddy has gotten the children of Elm Street right where he wants them, Jason won't stop his own personal reign of terror. In a spectacular scene, Jason cuts his way through a rave party in a cornfield, making the teens far more afraid of this flesh-and-blood "goalie" than the iffy idea of a child murderer in their dreams. So, Freddy goes after Jason in his nightmares and eventually in reality in a final showdown.

But enough plot. The point is, this is a top-notch slasher film. The last 15 minutes are an all-out wicked battle between Jason and Freddy that leaves them coated in blood and missing one or two limbs. Also, the film breaks new ground: no longer are teens always straying off and killed one by one. Freddy and Jason are clearly more belligerent in this film. They run right into battle and slice and dice. In many ways, this is more frightening because it is so unusual.

And now for the humor. Don't worry, there is none of that awful self-parodying humor that marred SCREAM and BRIDE OF CHUCKY. Instead, the humor is in the dialogue. Some of it is intended (witty one-liners), but most of it is pure cheesy 80's-style teen dialogue that leaves you giggling. But aside from this, both series have taken a turn to the dark side, which is great. It looks like the days of the horror-comedy are numbered based on the success of this film.

So, give it a try. If you like either A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET or FRIDAY THE 13th, this is easily one of the best of either series. Bottom line: you won't find a more entertaining slasher film this year.

Summary: Was there an actual winner?
Review: Who knew? Elm St. is like 10 miles from Camp Crystal Lake, and you thought your neighborhood was bad? Do you think Jason ever wandered into town to just get away from it all? His hockey mask is now considered a throwback so he has the kids cheering for him. Freddy has all the quippy one-liners and that snazzy hat. How can you lose with this one?

It has everything you would expect!
Gratuitous shower scene
Girl falls down in woods, then just waits to get killed.
Bumbling town sheriff

Young whipper-snapper deputy that is all gung-ho
New inventive ways to kill and get killed
Jason still just walks - you could be a cheetah and he'd still walk and get you.
Freddy's make-up is still bad.
Yet another culmination on the same pier in Crystal Lake. You would think it would have dry-rotted by now.

It is what it is. Not bad. Not good. Fun.

Summary: 50/50
Review: Some good cinemtography, decent gore, a few inventive plot points, and a well executed (for the most part) final half keep this film from being a total disaster. This is definitely the worst in the series of Elm Street films but to say it isn't watchable or not in the least bit entertaining would be a total lie. Loses points from me for a silly opening, bad acting by most of the cast (although not all), and a ridiculous conclusion that will only really mean anything unless they make do on their promise (spoiler ahead) and have Freddy and Jason working together against the teens in the next one. Elm Street fans should be divided on this one I suspect. Number 1 and 4 are still the best. Not being a fan of the Jason films this is definitely pretty strong where that is concerned although I did enjoy Jason X I am embarassed to say. Some of Ronny Yu's direction in certain scenes is fairly good...And not so good in others. But I am sucker for Freddy so I can't totally trash this flick on principal, and I give New Line props for giving the series another go round.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: If you love this kind of movie, which I do, you won't be disapointed!
So many have reviewed it, don't have that much to add, but I do like the fact that they brought some Asian tallent into the mix for the fight scenes, not that it has become a karate movie in the least, but unlike the other Freddy, and Jason movies, this one is in part about a fight, and no one does physical battles better!

EXTRA'S are ok nothin great the production and visual documentaions were pretty cool
the fight press conferance was funny as hell (probley the best extra on the dvd)
