Summary: Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta is the Bible of Humanity
Review: Bhagwad Geeta (means the Song of God). It is the conversation between the greatest Warrior ARJUN and the Load KRISHNA (who is his Charioteer in the battle of Kurukhetra). It is depicted in the Great EPIC of MAHABHARATA written by Ved Vyasa (who has touched each and every aspect of human existence in his writings). If the message of Geeta is understood in a proper perspective it can offer solutions to any and every problem the world is facing today!!! It has been translated in many languages of the world. Just to mention few good translations in English are by Vinoba Bhave, by sir Edwin Arnold, by Juan Mascaro. It's message is universal and beyond any geographical or racial classifications. Eternal Truths mentioned in here are applicable to each and every human being on the face of this Earth and can be verified by putting into practice.

Summary: Buy it only if you know Hindi
Review: Srimad Bhagavad Gita is my most favorite book. The DVD is actually a fairly good introduction to the Gita. The english subtiles, however, are horrific! It was very clear to me that the translators had little comprehension of the theology of the Gita. In addition, the translators demonstrated that they are unfamiliar with the english language. If you do not understand Hindi, do not buy it.

Review: The Geeta is an ancient Indian epic on the order of Homer's Illiad. It is also the cornerstone of Hindu faith (just as the Bible is for Christians).

A larger than life cast of characters play out the ancient chronicle of the Geeta. The DVD itself is a collection of 3 episodes of the Mahabharata which aired on Indian TV. With conversations in Hindi (and subtitles in English/French) the DVD makes an excellent introduction into Hindu thinking and philosophy. Far more realistic than the western version which had reduced the Geeta to a story of tribal warfare using an intl. cast. In conclusion, a good DVD worth repeat viewings.
