Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IVE SEEN IN THE LATE 90's Review: If you have EVER enjoyed a Tarentino film you will totally dig this movie. I saw it in the theater 3 times, rented it the first day out, and watched it again 4 more times in the next three days. Nothing is left unresolved at the end if the movie, almost everything is interconnected, and the visual tricks are sweet as candy. Bonus for gangster violence, misadventure, and strong characters. If enjoying this movie is a sin, I will burn forever.
Rating: Summary: Lock & Stock changed my way of understending cinema Review: Have you ever seen the comercial from Ballantines, when a girl and a guy are acting like a 007 movie. This commercial uses a lot of a brand new editing effect that, it was about time cinema started using. The characters were seriously choosen, and I think the movie is done by profesionals, all this acompanied by a great musical taste makes of this movie a good one
Rating: Summary: move away tarantino, the londoners are here Review: i have just watched this rollercoaster of a movie and recomend it to anyone who likes taratino style films, pulp fiction and reservior dogs especially. watch this movie now!!
Rating: Summary: Interesting... Review: Bought it without having any idea what kind of movie this was, so the expectations weren't big. Liked it though, nice characters and a crazy plot. Never seen any of the actors before (except Sting of course) which made the experience even better. I suspect it will grow on me.
Rating: Summary: wut tha @#%*&$ bloody ell'!!!!!!!! Review: Finally a film that lives up to all that "if u liked pulp fiction/resevoir dogs" garbage out there. my sis-law was in england & caught this in the theatre(all she did was rave about for weeks) thank god it got released here in the states! the filming reminds me more of scorsese(ala mean streets)than tarantino(but there all related anyhow).the words, the cast the atmosphere=simply the best of its genre in years.hopefully mr ritchie can top this w/out selling out. btw using a real life gangster in the film added some real menace to the part.nice cameo by sting as well.see this movie(now!)
Rating: Summary: Smashing mate! Review: Fast talking cockney lines fired at you so fast it's hard to keep up(and I'm English!) Excellent plot, lots of fun and humor (humour?), nicely shot and Vinni Jones finds life after football (soccer!) Americans beware - believe it or not these characters are speaking English - be patient and you'll get it sure enough.
Rating: Summary: Totally entertaining, from start to finish Review: When I first read the plot for this black comedy, I thought it would be one of those types of films that lose their way, midway through the film. However, although the plot becomes thicker as the film progresses, the action and plot unwinds, and leaves you being able to easily watch the comedy of errors as they unfold. I thought the cast of actors who I must admit I don't have a great deal of knowledge of( excluding Sting } were very good and I can recommend it as a movie to watch. Excellent British black comedy .
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: i am interested in cinematography, and may want to be a cinematographer. if i do, this will definitely be one of my references, along with Dark City and others. not only was the camera work, with the slow motions and the circling around totally awesome, but the acting and the one liners, along with the crazy plot made this movie one of the most interesting movies i've ever seen. also it's amazing that this is Guy Richie's, like first big movie.
Rating: Summary: Two words: Inspector Gadget Review: For all you "England has to prove itself to the world" folks...you'll think this movie is "the most amazing cinematic experience ever". Well, I've got some news for you...this "experience" as you may call it is nothing more than a glorified attempt to bring Oasis to the big screen. I've seen four movies in the past week: (1) Clueless (2)Inspector Gadget (3) Water World and (4) Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking B's. Hear me now and listen to me later, I'd take Inspector Gadget over all of them. But, that's beside the point. The Sex Pistols really weren't that good...and neither is this movie.
Rating: Summary: If you ain't buying this, you ain't completely chicken soup! Review: I'd become a bit sick of the whole Trainspotting/Shooting Fish british underclass movie and have to admit that I was not looking forward to seeing this one when I was dragged (litterally) to the cinema. What a mistake! Cinematography, acting, plot (and THAT soundtrack) - cracking! A friend of mine actually wet herself watching it she was laughing so much! The only negative point to this movie is that it is so full of 1 liners your mates will drive you insane with all the: "we grow copious amounts of ganja and you're walking around with a wasted girl... and a bag of fertilizer; you don't look like your average horti-f-ing-culturalist!" I bought the DVD about two months ago (region2) and have seen it about 25 times: KICKING! This movie should prove to the world that there is more to UK cinema than Hugh Grant and heroin - dere's da wiid!!!
