Summary: The best movie! I'm telling everyone about it!
Review: Flipping threw the channel descriptions I saw the movie Dogfight. Hardly a title I'd watch, but when I saw that it had River Phoenix and read the summary as "A callous marine fall for a homely waitress", I immediately turned it on. I'm a sap for unlikely romances (and for a River Phoenix, too). But I was not prepared for the phenominal performaces given by Phoenix and Lily Taylor. It was so believable and a great look into another era. It had all the elements of great movie; history, war, music, and a true romance thats more than your storybook Scarlett and Rhett (Gone With the Wind) and Jack and Rose (Titanic). Everyone I've told about this movie wants to watch it. You will too!

Review: Hi! My name is Genevieve and I think that River Phoenix played a great role as birdlace in Dogfight. I watch the movie a lot even though I recorded it off the tv. Lili Taylor also played a great role as Rose. They make a perfect couple. Even though I didn't really understand the last part. Did all the other 3 B's die. When that bomb struck? Summary: Simply amazing
Review: I am on a crusade to make sure as many people as possible see this film. It is unusual, funny, brilliantly acted and just beautiful. You dont get acting like this anymore and after watching this movie I am sure you'll agree that all other "teen" type movies fall so far short and seem almost contrived.
I just can get enough of this movie. River Phoenix is sadly no longer with us but you just want more of him as the Character Birdlace and more of Lili Taylor as Rose. BUY IT AND WATCH IT!

Review: I just want to say that this movie was so wonderful I am 24 years old and went out and bought the "Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" tape to hear the song 'Don't think twice it's alright'. Everytime I listen, it makes me think of this wonderful movie and of River.

Review: i love this movies soo much. i saw it for the first time about a year ago. its a deeply toughing story of a guy who makes some bad choises with a girl and in the end winds up falling in love with her.

Summary: A Review of a Beautiful Movie: Dogfight
Review: I really liked Dogfight. I am a devoted fan to River Phoenix, and I think that Lili Taylor is also an exceptionally good actress. I have to admit that at certain parts in the movie, I cried my eyes out. Dogfight was...funny, in a way. It wasn't funny like Austin Powers funny, it was the kind of humor that made you smile. Dark humor, but it was sweet. I like every performance that River gave, but this is one of the best. He plays a guy who doesn't think much about his actions. Eddie Birdlace is the embodiment of every guy out for a night of fun with his buddies. As long as he has fun, he doesn't care whose heart he breaks. Eddie must have thought he got lucky when he found Rose, he must have thought he'd win the contest. Then he realized that she wasn't that ugly. Indeed, Rose was a gem, she had morals and opinions that Eddie didn't expect her to have. And when she forcefully expressed her opinions about the dogfight to him, he was surprised, even though he tried to hide it. And I think that, by going to apologize to Rose, it showed that deep down, Eddie had morals, too. I thought it was really cute the way Rose and Eddie went out and the way he was so good to her. I've yet to see a movie as romantic. I was disappointed when Eddie threw Rose's address out the bus window, and scared into tears when the bomb hit him and the other three B's. And I cried once again when Eddie reunited with Rose, who, in fact, turned out to be prettier in the end of the movie than I thought. I'd suggest this movie to anyone who is romantic and likes tear-jerkers, or to anyone who likes war movies. I can't speak for everyone, but I liked Dogfight as much as Saving Private Ryan. I would also recommend this movie to any River Phoenix fans, because it's one of the best performances he ever gave, in my opinion. He came off so human, and he played the part so well. To me, it beat out every summer blockbuster this year.

Review: i saw dogfight for the first time about 5 months ago...and ever since have been obsessed with river phoenix! this movie made me question what people may really think of me and kinda provoked a thought of always being on gaurd for fakers! i loved the movie and am looking to buy it right now! thanks for showing it on the site! i wasnt exactly a true fan when i first saw it...and trust me i loved it and im sure you will love this movie too!

Summary: Throw Titanic overboard and see a real love story--Dogfight
Review: I saw Dogfight some years ago and now own it. I fell in love with this movie instantly. Why this film had a limited release is questionable. Movies like Titanic make over a billion dollars at the box office with terrible dialog and character development, when a wonderful little film like Dogfight makes fewer than 500,000 dollars. To a true film lover this is a crime. Unfortunately the public rather see films like Titanic, instead of a good quality film like Dogfight. Dogfight proved that you do not need a big budget to make a good film. Lili Taylor and River Phoenix do an excellent job in this film. I could not even pick a favorite scene, because the move is loaded with them. I find that a lot of video rental stores do not even offer it, but they sure got enough copies of Titanic to please, so I suggest buying it. Dogfight is well worth the money.

Review: I saw this movie for the first time about a year ago and i just fell in love with it. It is a love story set in the Veitnam war era that has, as with all great love stories, love, unknown futures and an uncertain outcome. If you want a change from all of those stupid "new age teen romances" movies then I would definatly recommend this movie. It really does diserve the 5 star rating!

Summary: Beautiful film, wonderful DVD
Review: I was so psyched that they finally released one of my all-time favorite movies on DVD. I think what I like best about this movie is how real it seems. The characters have their awkward moments, and then there are times when they say so much without even opening their mouths.I got more than I could have imagined in this DVD, since this is such a little-known film. It includes intriguing audio commentary and the trailer for the film. The film itself is presented in widescreen format and the picture and sound quality are impressive.
