Rating: 5 stars
Summary: one of the great films of all time
Review: Unsurpassed in philosophical depth about the meaning and the despair of life. The dialogues are brilliant and poetic and go to core of our intellect and emotions.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Sometimes questions are more powerful when unanswered
Review: We never find out the reason for Badi's despair. We don't know what tortured path this Iranian man has taken, a route which has lead him towards the decision of suicide. He plans to take all his sleeping pills and lay in a shallow grave on a hillside, under a lone tree. He pleads for assistance in his plan with different people passing, a virtual slice of Iran's diversity (a Kurd and a Afghani are among them), before he finds the wise and sympathietic taxidermist who quietly accepts the proposal.

You don't really need to know the source of this man's emotional state, but you'll watch as he tries to preserve his dignity. It's an often slow moving film, but the visual images are thoughtful and provocative.
