Summary: Most beautiful film ever made
Review: I've seen this film a couple of times during this year. First I went to see it to the movies with my boyfriend. Then I took my mother to see it. Then, after it came to the videostores, I rented it. It's absolutely heartbreakingly-beautiful. I'm gay myself and I can very well identify with lot of the things portrayed in this film. My heart cried out for Ludovic when he was humiliated by his mother as she cut his hair. That's what all gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered persons go through: humiliation. Most of our lives we're humiliated and looked down upon and some people always seem to know what's best for us. Many say that the film ends in a sort-of-cliffhanger. I don't agree. The film ends in the thought that Ludovic has found himself a safe haven with his family, but that from now-on his life will be a constant struggle to be accepted for what he is, as he is. The film doesn't need (God no) a sequel. We all know how Ludovic turns out. Victorious.

Summary: Maybe too much for many folks, but in some ways, too real!
Review: As a clincian, a clergyperson, and someone who is on intimate terms with both individuals and the trans-community itself, I found this a wonderful depiction of a reality which few can understand, and even (thank heaven) fewer have walked, but there are many who have walked and are still walking this life story. The director gave this film a warm yet real (in its portrayal of the fear and bigotry of the intolerant adults) feeling. The trials and heartbreaks are also quite real. I have seen them too many times, and they break my heart, I assure you. Hooray for the wonderful job on this film. There ought to be more, many more, like it!

Summary: The R-rating is a hate crime!
Review: Since gay and lesbian themes are sort of OK in Hollywood as long as it conforms with the market stereotypes, it is aggravating to see this Franco-Belgian coproduction being rated "R" (just get rid of the whole rating crap, will you). Transsexual feelings in kids! Oh my God, that's the perverse of all perversia, plus it's foreign, and spoken in French, must be corruptingly erotic and evil... R. Next. Hereby I wish to call out to all parents to not only talk about sexuality with your kids, but to give NO heed to this rating, and even view this movie together! By banning this film from a large part of the teenage population, ignorance and thus prejudice about sexual orientation and indeed about respect for difference are strengthened. This movie is not only bittersweet, it is, judged from previous comments, a colorful "child's view" of the narrow-minded adult world and its lack of fantasy. To Leonard Maltin: this story is not set in a suburb in Belgium, but Paris (in France!).

Summary: Why the "R"?
Review: This film is so touching and beautiful. I felt sorry for Ludovich,because of what the poor boy goes through just to be a woman. The only reason this film got an R, is because the stupid people at Hollywood thought that a transsexual gay boy wants to be a woman. What a bunch of b-s. This film deserves lower than an R rating. I hate all the biggoted views of gays, lesbians, and trans sexuals. Even though I do not apply under any of those titles, I belive they are decent human beings like any one else, certainly better than some of these biggoted bufoons out there who crab about transexuals. To anyone in doubt about showing this film to young ones. Go ahead, it deserves a PG at the most. I don't think people should hide gays from the world.

Summary: Wacky and funny
Review: This movie is odd, yet I really liked it. In a way, it has a touch of Pee-Wee Herman, because a giant French version of Barbie is always flyin' around. Despite it's utter goofiness, it really deals with some recent topics. I throughly enjoyed it. I think more movies should deal with lesbanism and gays.

Review: This movie is very well written - it tells in painful detail exactly what a young Transsexual goes through growing up. It was so accurate, it was painful. I highly recommend it to anyone trying to understand what a transsexual child goes through.

Summary: 'My life in Pink' doesn't stink!
Review: Yep! I love this movie. I love the fact that this little guy is so convinced by his gender mix-up that he doesn't care or even notice that the adult world around him is in uproar. I was rooting for the parents' liberalism and love for their 'son' to finally conquer their fears and embarrassment caused by the close-minded stares of those around them. This movie is a testament to those who have the courage and confidence to be themselves.

Review: Berliner captured the innocence of a child and displayed it on film for the world to see. Anyone who has or ever plans to have children should see this film to truly understand where our children are coming from.. a fantastical world where they are accepted and loved, no matter who they are. Berliner exceeds the expectations of the audience and displays the world through a child's eye.
