Summary: Simply the best movie I've seen in my life.
Review: I have never been more amazed by a film than I was by this one. The acting and directing is superb. The setting is gorgeous and the soundtracks fits like a glove. The casting was incredible and all the actors filled in their roles and greater than one would expect. The night I went to see it there was a full house and the audience was literally rolling the isle every 3 or 4 minutes.

I don't want to give anything away... so please please please, rent it, buy it, see it!! You -will- love it. It's not an "instant hit"... it's THE hit!

Summary: A delight in pot comedy
Review: Think of those wacky British comedies from the past, then think of Cheech and Chong. Mix them together and you have this marvel- Saving Grace. It is a very funny comedy that is one of the best pot comedies ever, right up there with the old C & C movies and Half Baked.

Grace is played by Brenda Blethyn, as usual a delight, who is a widow who is about to lose her house. Until a gardener (Craig Ferguson from the Drew Carey Show, who also co wrote/produced this movie) gets her in a scheme to grow hemp in her greenhouse. The climax is uproariously funny (the two tea drinking lades steal they're scene) as well is much of the rest of the film. Even if the there are some un-needed side plots, the film is must see.

Summary: a pleasant lightweight British Comedy .
Review: This is a quite unusual film in that it reminds me of the British Ealing comedies of yesteryear. Brenda Blethyn and craig Ferguson provide warmth and likeability as the Middle aged widow and her gardener respectively. Blethyn's character is persuaded by the gardener to pay off the string of debts that her late husband ran up by growing cannabis in her green house in Cornwall and selling it to a drug dealer. Although the film gets a bit silly towards the end what with the introduction of a drug dealing gangster, the ensemble cast help push this film beyond it's TV movie origins and into the realms of a genuinely charming and often very funny film.

Although not without its faults, british TV stalwarts such as Martin Clunes and Leslie Philips all join in the fun and help keep it likeable. If you liked films such as A FISH CALLED WANDA and FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL I suspect you will like the pace and acting of this film. Watch out for the two old ladies who run the village shop, the scene where they accidently get stoned and start eating the shop's produce is an absolute scream!.

Summary: Never a true word said in jest!!!
Review: Coming form Cornwall, this film firstly made me feel very homesick indeed. The filming was beautifully shot and I can easily put real names to the characters.

Brenda Blethyn could be my mum baking cakes and watering the garden. My mum thought it was hillarious and noted down growing tips!!!

This film will make you laugh until it hurts, have you on the edge of your seat with anticipation and you'll want to watch it again as soon as it is finished and perhaps give you the munchies as well!!!

Summary: Charming British comedy......
Review: SAVING GRACE has a great story, great cast and some fantastic English seaside scenery to chew on. However, the writing suffers from being a bit too precious. It plays on many of the old stereotypes about drug use and the "dangers" of marijuana, without saying anything new. The writers could've done better with the plotline.

Brenda Blethyn is one of the high points of watching the film. She makes the most of what little meaningful dialogue she has. Her sense of British whimsy AND decorum are played to the hilt. She is a very talented comedic and dramatic actress. Too bad she wasn't given better material.

SAVING GRACE is entertaining, but only mildly funny.

Summary: Cheech & Chong meets BBC...But funnier!
Review: This is the latest in the string of very funny British films in the tradition of The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom,Whiskey Galore (aka Tight Little Island),Waking Ned Devine, and A Private Function. The wonderful Cornish scenery is also a real plus. If you can see the humor in situations involving marijuana, you won't want to miss this. If you can't see the humor in such situations you probably wouldn't like it. Your Loss!

Summary: Just What We Need....
Review: ....a video that entertains without a heavy message, just a goodly amount of laugh-out-loud situations that made me glad I had rented this movie.

Poor Grace was left destitute after the death of her ne'er do well husband. She never suspected that her lovely lifestyle in a Cornwall village was being financed by borrowed money.

How Grace solves her problem, with the help of her faithful gardener and her husband's mistress, keeps you entertained for almost two hours. And you learn something about hydroponic gardening at the same time!

The gorgeous Cornwall setting provides a luscious backdrop for this film, and Brenda Blethyn is perfect in her role.

Summary: The Best Ever...just a GREAT MOVIE...I LOVED IT!!!!
Review: I just loved this movie...I purchased it before it was really on sale from an auction because I just had to have it. When the two ladies have thier "tea" and get the munchies I almost died from laughter. Makes me laugh just typing this. Rent it...buy it...get it quick.

Summary: FUNNNNNNNY
Review: THIS IS THE FUNNIEST MOVIE Unless youve seen a male cow...but its really funny

Summary: Funny all the way!
Review: I work at a video store, & I have to admit that this movie was the underdog of the video & dvd rentals. It came out at around the same time that blockbusters like Gone in 60 Seconds & Big Momma's House, yet it is one movie that everyone keeps renting. I've recommended it to customers since it has something for everyone-comedy, drama, & just a teensy bit of suspense at the end. I've actually had customers come back & tell me how much they've enjoyed the movie. The plot itself seems guaranteed to raise a smile whenever I tell someone about it. I thouroughly recommend this to everyone!
