Summary: Beautiful movie-Like a dream
Review: One of the most dreamlike films I've ever seen. Inventive, imaginative, and a lot of fun.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the wierdest, best movies i've ever seen.
Review: The City Of Lost Children is a brilliant, surreal masterpiece. 1-star ratings are laughable. There are too many closed-minded people in this world. If you are open minded, buy or at least rent this film.

Summary: This movie is great, the dubbing sucks!
Review: Ok, the movie is wonderful, but please, please please, do not buy the dubbed version. They didn't get the actors to do their own voices, and well, it leaves so much to be desired. Get the subtitled version! Get the subtitled version! It's got all the depth and wonder that you need.

Summary: A surreal, expressionistic fantasy
Review: This film has a visual strength that put its in league with "The Wizard of Oz" and Cocteau's "Beauty and The Beast." But this is not the candyland of Oz; it is not the splendor of "Beast." It is a dark, sometimes shadowy, warped and decrepit world that compels you to come inside. Once there, the atmosphere, the odd faces, the love between the strongman and the little girl, the deliciously evil octopus lady -- I could go on -- will hold you, will make you laugh, will make you cry. And a great cast too. I couldn't find anyone I felt out of place. A couple minor continuity problems (the strongman's hair is shorter near the end, and did he sew his sweater back together?) don't detract from this wonderful, flightful fantasy. Buy it. It's lovely, just lovely.

Summary: Very Awesome and Surreal!!!
Review: I can't see why this film is rated R. It keeps its humor through and though although some characters are wickedly twisted---but that's life, why not expose it. It warms the heart as well.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: NOTHIN BETTER
Review: This is the perfect film, does it matter if it is in French. Hollywood move over because you could never produce a film like this one. What a performance by little Judith Vittet. Ron Perlman also plays his part well as a simpleton. There is also a great game which acompanies the game which is out on PC CDROM and PLAYSTATION which is graphically perfect and also has a similar storyline. The game is hard but very well made!

Summary: ingenius
Review: This is quite positively one of my favorite movies. Jean-Pierre Jeunet shows his gift as a director and does a wonderful job of presenting what is a dark story both visually and in plot, in a manner that is light and bordering on the comical. This movie is both beautiful and insightful. See this movie and see his other movies starting with Delicatessen!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Visually stunning, captivating, eerie, a must-see for all!
Review: The City of Lost Children is a jewel in visual effects, one of the movies where computer graphics add to - instead of distract from - the eerie greenish style of the movie.

The story is confusing at first because it does not resemble any normal setting, but once you get past that point you get captivated by the story.

If you're a style-freak (if you like movies like Dark City, Delicatessen, Clockwork Orange) and don't mind a bit of a weird store, this really is a MUST-SEE. Worth it's money for every penny!
