Review: What a great movie, full of laughs all the way through. For those intreasted most of the cast is reunited again for filming of new movie currently titled "Best In Show", it just finished filming in Vancouver, should be out in 6 months to a year.

Summary: Funniest Film About Theatre Ever
Review: I must disagree with Leonard Maltin's opinion that this movie "barely warrants a feature-length film." Perhaps Mr. Maltin has never participated in an amateur theatrical production and misses some of the subtle humor and hilarious references. If you've done local theatre, this film is a must-see. If not, it's still a very funny portrayal of small-town, provincial life. If you did like this movie, I also recommend "A Mid-Winter's Tale,"(directed by K. Brannagh) another hilarious film about putting on "Hamlet" during the Christmas season

Summary: Where are they now?
Review: This is my all-time favorite comedy, and I'd really like to know what Christopher Guest and Catherine O'Hara are doing now! I keep expecting (well, hoping) to read that the cast of this movie is reuniting to do another. I'm sure that will never happen, so I guess I'll have to just keep watching my Waiting for Guffman video when I need a dose of brilliant humor.

Review: This has been called the "Spinal Tap" of the community theater world, but it really is - and in a good way. It is directed in the same pseudo-documentary style as Spinal Tap, and is just as drily hilarious. The actors are all terrific and make you feel like they were born for these parts. And with a cast that includes Eugene Levy, Fred Willard and Catherine O'Hara, you can hardly go wrong. This film was obviously crafted with a lof of love and effort, and it shows through. This is a film that gets better with each viewing, and it is already a cult classic. Kudos to Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy for daring to write a brilliant comedic film at the expense of "marketability".

Summary: Brilliant Satire Not to Be Missed!
Review: Christopher Guest is a comic genius, and this "mock-umentary" works on so many levels it requires more than one viewing. Eugene Levy, Fred Willard and Catherine O'Hara are three of the finer stand-outs in an impeccable cast. If you've ever performed onstage (or even attended your local community theater) you will relate to the hilariously painful process these players go through to bring "Red, White and Blaine" to the stage. Guest's Corky St. Clair is a three dimensional revelation of a character. We really care about these people, and they're some of the most entertaining folks to come along in years. Don't miss "Guffman," you'll be talking about it for days!

Review: This is one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen. Some folks may not "get it" -- their loss. From what I understand, the show is essentially a filmed improv -- the actors were given a detailed plot and character study and just went with it. Watch this film.

Review: When shopping for a potential mate, make him or her watch this film with you. If he or she doesn't "get it", wave goodbye. This will serve as the perfect barometer of one's sense of humor. I pity those who can't find the humor in this. ** I read that the 80 or so minute running time of this film was culled from DOZENS OF HOURS of footage shot. WHEN CAN WE SEE SOME OUTTAKES, MR. GUEST? Or is "outtakes" even the proper word? The whole film is, in spirit, the quality and in-joke nuttiness that makes outtakes so enjoyable anyway.

Summary: "A Penny for your Thoughts..."
Review: I first heard about this movie from a friend who discovered I used to be involved in Theatre Arts. He instantly recommended this movie to me saying that "Waiting for Guffman" was to the drama teacher what "Mr. Holland's Opus" was to the music teacher. He even commented that it might make me cry. O.K. so I'm gullable. I go to the video store to rent it, and was expecting to get a heart warming, touching story--My first clue that I might have been fooled should've been the cover which displays Corky clad in shorts, suspenders, a bow tie and beanie cap! It's hilarious! I quote it so much people often ask me if I was the class clown, and I say "No, I wasn't, but I sat beside the class clown, and I studied him..." HA! You have to see it--even better--buy it!

Review: I have to admit, when I first saw it, I wasn't all that crazy about it, I thought it was kind of slow. But, I didn't want to be one of those "bastard people" so I watched it again, and now it's my favorite movie ever! I just love Christopher Guest!
