Summary: If Disney did Hamlet, the results would be similar to this
Review: Look, I'm not even sure what the point of this release is. ADV Films is already putting out a release of Saint Seiya that is uncut and uses the original music and even includes an alternate english Dub (one where the actors can actually ACT).

"Knights of the Zodiac" is just crap. The characters no longer have distinct personalities--they're just a bunch of teenagers with surfer dude accents. It's like watching an insanely bad version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, except it's even worse in this case because their personalities totally contradict their upbringing (they were all sent off to harsh training programs in distant countries yet they all come back as flippant airheads?)

The music is bland, nothing you'll remember, except maybe the opening theme, which is a re-sung version of Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran" (it doesn't seem to be the exact same song... both me and a friend of mine who is into music seemed to notice that this version doesn't even sound as good as the real thing).

Finally, there's the dialogue. Not only is there a lot of extrenuous dialogue added (that is, characters talk just for the sake of talking, which often sounds stupid) but often the tone of their voice doesn't even match their facial expressions. In one episode, Seiya stares in shock at an enemy yet makes a flippant comment about his enemy's fashion sense. It's totally contradictory and makes the show hard to watch.

Once more, the original Saint Seiya is available in English on Region One DVD. Just do a search for "Saint Seiya" here on Amazon, and buy that DVD instead. Furthermore, "Saint Seiya" DVDs have five episodes instead of four, so "Knights of the Zodiac" is nothing but a complete waste of money.

Summary: Horrid
Review: this chopped up series are the reason why some anime never really make it big in the United States. it is basically the same reason why i would urge you to not purchase this specific anime under this title. i am a big big saint seiya fan (or knights of the zodiac here) i was very dissapointed with the dubbing and the crappy voices they gave these awesome series that are literally the best that has come out of japan besides akira cowboy bebop or nadesico. my suggestion is to purchase the adv version which is called saint seiya, and get an actual taste of what the series should be like. don't bother to even rent them or buy them you will pretty much be watching some twisted sailor moon version of these series.

Summary: Buy Saint Seiya instead of this version
Review: This version is downright disrespectful to the original series called "Saint Seiya", which is being released by ADV. This version is poorly scripted, poorly acted, and poorly edited. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
