Summary: A good standard for anime
Review: A little on the short side BUT to say this movie was bad is being ultra picky .It had great gorey bloody scenes brought to you by the evil ones .The movie gore and fighting was sacrificed for sake of story line but that isn't a bad thing .I agree that this movie with some added work from the creaters could have put this flick among the top .Great animation work ,story work ,vocals as well .

Summary: Im glad I didn't buy it...
Review: A while back I rented Twilight of the dark master and like I said above, Im glad I didn't buy it. The story was really interesting but if you don't pay close attention it will go way over your head. Trying to put that big plot in a 50 min. movie would be hard I can imagine.
I saw the preview on Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust and I was like WOW, but when I watched that WOW turned into a AW. Not that much blood, gore, fighting, etc. not saying that it was bad for not having that kind of stuff, but the preview is very misleading.
The HUGE thing that I liked about Twilight Of The Dark Master is that the artwork is GREAT. I mean this artwork is truly one of the best seen. It even shows you how the character designer drew the cover art which looked like it had taken him at least an hour(3x or 4x fastforward).
I wouldn't recommend it if you like action but if your a plot throb that can keep up with a constant and confusing storyline or you like anime because of the artwork, I would suggest renting before you buy it.

Summary: an exceptionally good anime, that could have been better
Review: (...) Many people (...) seem to think that things like quality of script, plot, dubbing, and character development actually matter in an anime. THEY DON'T!!!!!! We're not talking about a high budget drama about the meaning of life, we're talking about cartoons. What does make a good anime? ACTION, GORE, NUDITY, and of course how completely insane it is. That's why anime like ninja scroll, twighlight of the dark master and Akira are so badass. Twighlight is only about 50 min long but makes good use of the time with a little nudity, some gore, and a few very hardcore fight scenes. My only complaint is that they could have extended the final showdown a little. The movie has an ending that is both suprising and intense, and leaves you wondering what exactly happened. Basically this movie has everything a good anime should

Summary: Not the worst..but not the Best.
Review: A big thing is that there is no dramatic fights that realy impress you.The hero is just to powerful he just snaps his fingers and POOF,the enemy a blue glow sparks from the enemy and it just vanishes.Realy that's what happens I'm not kidding. The story is strange but you can follow it.This anime has some nudity but quickly turns you off with a demon ripping a her arm off at the elbow. The ending also is strange and leaves you feeling unsatisfied and some what confused. On the good side it does have umm....a twisted strange plot(if you like that kind of thing.)and nice animation but you still cann't get into it very much.

Summary: Action packed animation at its best
Review: A mysterious beast is causing trouble and a mysterious woman calls on the help of Tsunami Shijyo, a demon hunter to help destroy the monster and save the city. In his mission to destroy the monster, Shijyo finds out that its creator is his nemesis Mr. Takamiya. Soon, the mission to save the city from the monster's destruction becomes a mission to save the world.

The story is very interesting at best. The animation style for Twilight of the Dark Master is very dark and edgy and the action sequences keep viewer in suspense enough to find out the conclusion. Although I did not find the ending captivating enough, I would recommend this title for anyone who enjoys a good mystery. END

Summary: Wasted Potential
Review: After watching this movie in its entirety for the first time and actually giving it some thought, I came to the conclusion that I hated the director for cheap skating us with a short version of what very well could've been a masterpiece in anime. Though the beginning prelude speaking of the Great Mother has little effect on the movie, I believe that what makes this movie so worthwhile is its skillful animation and the personality of the main characters Tsunami Shijyo and Chen & Huang Long. Though the movie borrows from Bio Hunter with its idea to have an innocent, pure guy turn into a hideous demon, the movie is unique in the way it unfolds. The main things that irritated me about the movie were its duration of 45 minutes, its tendency to leave the viewer waiting for something to happen when it simply builds up to an anticlimactic ending, and most importantly, the brevity of the final battle between Tsunami and the brains behind the operation, Mr. Takayami. Amazon.com's review couldn't have been more accurate when it said the fight was over before it even began. About two hits were exchanged before Mr. Takayami met his untimely demise. Other than these shortcomings, "Twilight of the Dark Master" is still an interesting movie that is worth watching so long as the viewer doesn't expect very much out the plot as a whole.

Summary: Very interesting movie, also very good
Review: Even though this movie was brief(around 50 min) it definately had its share of action, gore, and evil beings like demons. I would recommend this movie to ANYONE who likes Biohunter, or Wicked City, or movies of that sort. The ending script was VERY well done, and the ending music(when the credits roll) was really cool. This movie was basically very well done, if you look at everything. The cover is a feast for the eyes as well.
The only bad part about the movie was ONE thing, it could of been a LITTLE longer. Enjoy!

Summary: Do Not Fear
Review: I began my anime watching almost two years ago, obviously spawning from american cartoons. I went up to my local video store and found some wierd movie called "Twilight of the Dark Master." Lets just say I can still watch the movie and not let my attention stray one bit. This movie is beyond any dark anime you will ever see. They pack a whole series worth of potential in a 51 minute movie, giving history on how the dark master and Tsunami were created and how they came ot live like they were. The fighting in this movie is unbelievable. If you have any doubts on this movie, don't fear you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Great animation, but...
Review: I fell for the oldest meanest trick in the book when i ran into this title at the video store - the DVD cover is beautiful, and the movie summary makes the movie sounds reasonably interesting. But unfortunately, the cover seems to be the best thing about the movie.

While the animation and the soundtrack were great, and plot had a lot of potential, it seems that the creators of this movie didn't really bother to develop the story into the great movie that it could have been. The story is somewhat scrambled, the characters are developed badly (if at all), with the bulk of information about the main character being provided somewhere in the final battle. That is - somewhere in the last 7 minutes of this (short) movie.

In short - if you feel a burning urge to watch anime, and this is the last title on the shelf at the video store, I'd still recommend that you think twice before renting this. And if you do rent it, do yourself a favor and watch the Japanese dub, at least this way you'll get to experience the cool soundtrack in its full glory.
