Summary: Good!
Review: I watched the original theatrical movie that starred Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman, not in a movie theater but on video and while that was a good movie I also liked this prequel movie which I first saw on TV. It is a cute movie and stars two of my favorite actors Steve Guttenburg, and Lori Loughlin and I really didn't find this movie to be disappointing at all.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Just as Cute as The Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci Movie!
Review: Sorry but liked this movie and wasn't really bothered by the fact that it was a direct to video release but than again I saw this on the Family channel, it came on after another movie I had watched and I had never even heard of this movie and didn't even know it was originally a direct to video and DVD release, all I know is that I thought this was a cute movie and I liked Steve Guttenburg, Lori Loughlin and the kid who played Chris and thought they were all good and I just don't think this movie is bad at all.

Summary: A bad prequal
Review: The first Casper was a fun movie which I liked alot. After its success someone had the idea lets make a cheesy prequal with inferior effects that doesn't tie in with the first movie at all. In the first movie it says that ghosts scar because of emotion trama in this ghost scar because they are taken to some school to learn how to. Not a good vision of the afterlife is it. It also like I said before has terrible effects. They should have made a sequal with orginal cast and original effects quality. But this is awful.

Summary: Oh, yes, it's great... IN YOUR DREAMS!
Review: The first is best. Anyone who thinks this is better than the first should get help.. FAST!

Summary: Nice family film.
Review: This is a nice movie, but the beginning is a little strange because Casper does not even know he is a ghost and its the second Casper film! The 1995 Casper (the first Casper movie), is definitly a better movie, with a way better plot. This movie has an okay cast, and a bad script. I don't recomend buying this movie. You should just watch it on t.v. and save some money. Overall, its a good movie, but not a good sequel.Take my advice.

Summary: A Stupid Begining
Review: To start out with, this is another one of those typical, cheap, grownups-are-stupid; kids-are-smart movies. This is nothing like the first movie. If this is how it all began then it does not tie in with the feature film Casper the Friendly Ghost.

How can a ten-year-old boy, who is in the 4th grade, be smarter than his 40-year-old-dad, who is a successful architect? What happened to Casper's father, who lived in a completely other part of the country, and the big scary mansion? It doesn't make any sense. This is a disgrace to the friendly phantom.

The acting in this movie is at an all time low. They got low paid actors for a low paid movie. All of the horrible acting, sets, story, and CG make this movie the definition of a terrible movie. Should you watch this junk you will discover the dreadfulness of this piece of trash.

Summary: A worthy sequel
Review: While not as groundbreaking as the first Casper, A Spirited Beginning is a well done attempt to "fill in the blanks" of the original and tell a full story about the past of Casper and his uncles. More comical and light-hearted than the original, this movie is perhaps even more impressive as far as visual effects ar concerned. If you sympathise with Casper et al, you probably won't be disappointed.
