Summary: Fun anime, but cannot be compaired to kenshin
Review: After seeing and reading Kenshin I searched and searched for another samurai anime on the same scale. Never found one, and I still haven't. Samurai Deeper is very cool, but it cannot be compaired to Rurouni Kenshin. Instead I think that Samurai Deeper can be best compaired to the anime Ninja Scroll.
Lets just say, if you are only looking for a "realistic" samurai anime (by realistic I mean no magic, no monsters, etc) then you will probably want to pass on Samurai Deeper. If you are looking for a fun anime in general, definetely pick this one up... well maybe not this box set. Seems a bit too pricy just for a box and 1 DVD.

Summary: Samurai Deeper Kyo - The official release
Review: Any big follower of anime will have already watched the fansub version of this anime. I wont review the anime in great detail but suffice it to say, it's probably one of the nicest animes out there to watch. I hear people mention Kenshin all the time but please dont buy this in the hopes of getting a kenshin clone, while they are similar in certain aspects the two differ greatly.

The DVD quality is great, a surprise as most anime DVD's i have only feature 3 or 4 episodes per disc yet this one features 5. There isnt much in the way of features but so what. The special DVD series box is really nice. If you've got a good anime collection already this one will really set it off. If you can afford it, buy this box set.

Summary: good
Review: for those of you who havent seen any of this yet.. the rumors of it being simular to kenshin are true. this could be a spin off from kenshin its so simular. the only difference is this is more un realistic then kenshin.. the enemies turn into monsters which are called "kenyo". kyo is a good fighter but he seems rather slow. there is no speed in this like in kenshin.. infact there really is no fighting.. either the good guy kills the bad guy or the bad guys hurts the good guy and then gets killed. predictable. however its not all bad. there is somewhat of a good story and decent characters. funny comedy. the story suffers later on though when they try to introduce too many things at once. this series really could have benefitted if it was given either a 2nd season, a ova, or even a movie to give some closure on things. when it ends at ep 26 there is too much left unsaid still. kenshin fans will love this though

Summary: HOT
Review: Hey this is a nice beginning to a series drawn nicely. ( I mean in the aspects of the story) I watched Kenshin and yeah i loved it but not in the first few epsiodes and you would be wise not to judge this anime from only the first five. In time this could probably become one even greater than Kenshin. The main character a split personality dude name kyoshiro has got big problems with a demon livin in him. The probable love interest between him and the young blonde bounty hunter keeps you pondering if she has what it takes to change him for the better.
Well i don't like to spoil so i will only say you would be wise to just give it a try I promise no matter what type of anime you are into you won't be dissappointed......

Summary: Samurai Deeper Kyo Awesome
Review: Hey this is an awesome series, but the main reason im a fan of this is not just the action but the story that is filled with information with interesting tidbits of info on Japanese history. Its really great how some of the characters are some of the most prominent characters of the Tokugawa era, it adds a bit of interest that most series dont have. But hey the action is great to, you will love to see how Kyo summons all his great techniques and lets just say before the end of the series Mizuchi and Red Mirage are not gonna be the only techniques you will see.

Summary: A great new series!
Review: Hmmmm, what first sparked my interest in this series? Well I remember seeing a commercial for it on one of my other dvd's, and from the glimpse I got, it looked awesome! Plus the music was really catchy too. The animation is very crisp and clear, and the story line keeps you hooked, and the music really is super. The English voice actors are all right, you may recognize some from other series, but the Japanese is a lot better. Some of the English voice actors give them western and European accents! The series starts off at the battle of Sekigahara, where 2 legendary samurai face off, Kyoshiro Mibu and Demon eyes Kyo (for his stunning red eyes), but when a meteor crashes down on them, nothing is left except for Kyo's sword. Four years later a medicine man named Kyoshiro Mibu, who has no memories from 4 years ago, is caught by a bounty hunter named Yuya, but when a kenyou (or demon) shows up to kill Kyoshiro, the demon Kyo wakes within him!! The story line is really great and very exciting! Its interesting to see how the characters change from what they started out as. With demons, romance, sword fights, comedy, and ninja's this is one great series you won't want to miss!! If you liked Rurouni Kenshin or InuYasha, this is one series for you!! And even if you haven't seen those shows, this is a super title to start out with!!

Summary: Dull, dull, dull, and yes, more dull
Review: I have never run across an anime that has made me want to fall asleep more than this series (even Noir is more gripping). The plot is uninteresting and the characters are flat. The artwork is pretty, but not especially unusual.

I cannot understand why this series is so often linked to Kenshin. The only resemblance I can find is that there is swordfighting and the main character has a dual nature. It works in Kenshin, because it explores the good an bad sides of humanity; Kyo just suffers from multiple personalites.

If you are looking for a good swordfighting/fantasy anime, I would recommend Berserk instead.

Summary: More bloodless sword fighting...
Review: I must have seen the "sanitized for your protection" version.

The beginning held some promise of some really good samurai action, but then it turned into something just as silly as that Kenshin foolishness. No blood, no guts plus alot of off-screen swordplay made me very sleepy.

Each episode is just like the last one: Monster grabs/assaults the female bounty hunter then Kyo "Hulks Out" and bloodlessly kills it. The End.

Some of the side characters are pretty interesting though and the sub-plot is not half bad; but I'd rather watch Ninja Scroll again than this.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: No comparison to Rurouni Kenshin, but somewhat entertaining
Review: I must say that I am slightly disappointed at this series. This series may be of some interest to people who are into magic and demons storyline, but for anyone who plans on buying this as a replacement for Kenshin, do yourself a favor and skip it.
