Summary: What diehard fans of this series wanted from the beginning.
Review: Finally, finally! That word pretty much sums up the release of this disc for me. I've been a Dragon Ball fan since the 1980's, and i've patiently waited, and prayed for the day when something like this would be widely avaliable to the English speaking market. Now that the day has come, I cannot put into words the feeling I have. The reason being, the time it actually took to get one of the best Animes series ever created over to this side of the Pacific. It's been almost 10 years since the episodes contained on this DVD, were first aired in Japan. And for true fans of this series, this disc is long, long overdue. Now for the quality of the content on the disc. Very good, considering this is the first of hopefully many of this type of disc in the series. Only minor problems with the disc, such as the absence of subtitles during Cha La Head Cha La (Introduction), and Zenkai Power (Closing). Also missing are the "last time on the show," and "next time on the show" segments. Which are not sorely missed because the episodes play back-to-back. But it begs the question, because of this deletion, why not include one or maybe even two more episodes on the disc? Or maybe some extras? I sincerly hope that all Dragon Ball discs from this point on have both language tracks, movies and OVA's included. But overall, I really can't fault this disc, except for the painfully long time it took to get to this market.

Review: For the first time ever in DBZ history, the series is back to DVD...in a whole new way! This brand-new DVD version includes original Japanese version with English Subtitles and, of course, the Uncut Dubbed version. This is what fans have been waiting for for a very, very long time. Now that season 3 is drawing to a close for the upcoming season 4, rest assured you'll love these DVDs in months to come.

Review: I got into DBZ just last year, I was hooked since the first episode I saw. I was so excited when I found out there were more episodes being dubbed. I tuned in to Cartoon Network on 9/13 (that's right, I didn't actually buy the videos, because I'm only thirteen, and I don't have the hundred bucks they want for THIS stuff), and I was totally disapointed. The voices are bad (especially Krillin's), but the music is worse (seriously, it sounds like something out of a cheap video game!). They should keep the original dialouge (EVERYTHING, including and ESPECIALLY the swearing! it gives the characters attitude.) I like the story line, though, and it's Dragon Ball Z, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. I just think it sucks that whenever anime comes over here (WHEN it even makes it to North America) it's constantly being edited to PIECES!!! Can't FUNimation (quite the ironic name, ne?) and DiC. dub COMPLETELY uncut anime, release it on video, and just rate it NC-17, or something? So I can see it when I get older, of course (^_~). Besides, I know at LEAST 100 people who would gladly pay 30 dollars a tape for that!

Review: I loved this series. The fighting and the story line were great. I'm glad to finally have it on DVD. I definately would recommend it to any DBZ fan. It contains a major part of the DBZ story.

Summary: The new era of DBZ begins here!
Review: I myself, am the biggest DBZ fan you could meet, (even though i havent seen all the episodes). That is because i think DBZ as a legacy that is of the heart, not for violence, cussing, and amybe some nudity that Japan makes. Now, listen, i dont own this dvd,(i only have one dvd tape that is of my school play), but i have seen this on tv. I was in third grade(now near 6th) and i had been missing DbZ because they started showing reruns, then comercials stated that Dbz was back and new! I was excited and watched it on the day it started on my tv, and i was shocked. It was different! there was new animation, new voices, and i thought i was watching new characters! But, wow! I then was amazed seeing the Ginyu Force puching Goku, but it looked like they punching through him! I also liked the new music that fitted the Ginyu's characters at seens. I also loved Jeice's character, he then had a more attitudial hemisphere (You get the idea). And its not only Jeice that got a more character like form, Vegeta is more interesting, you see that he will take revenge at all costs. and Goku's new voice is phenominal! That's about it.

Review: I really enjoyed DRAGONBALL Z: CAPTAIN GINYU: ASSAULT. The characters are ridiculously funny, espescially The Ginyu Force with their obssession with posing and style. Jeice happens to be my favorite character, with his punk-rock hairdo and Australian accent, I'm not sure if he was voiced by Scott McNeil or Christopher Sabat in this version, but whoever it was, they did an awesome job. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Goku and Vegeta's voices, Goku sounded boring, and Vegeta just didn't sound quite right, too much gravel and grating. And of course I didn't like Vegeta killing Burter and Recoome when they were unconscious and helpless, Vegeta's a sadist, and I hate him anyway, he killed Zarbon and he later kills Jeice when he's begging for mercy, which really upsets me, [but that's another video]. And the sight of Recoom's bare, ugly backside I could have easily, [and gladly], done without. The Ginyu Force was great, the other characters, weren't all done that well, Frieza was voiced by a woman [Linda Young?] and that took away alot of his scary factor, [not that women can't be just as vicious as men, but Frieza is a MALE character, it just doesn't sound right]. Captain Ginyu himself was hilarious, and Guru, Nail, and Dende where well done, if given only brief parts. And best of all, I finally got to see Jeice use his Orange Fire Ball Attack! The beutifully drawn scene of Jeice in orange silouhette , preparing to spike his Fire Ball like a volley ball, was one of the best scenes on the video! 5 Stars!
