Summary: *Marginal* Euro Horror
Review: Alright, let's get it straight. . .Euro Horror is really interesting and great. I gave "Burial Ground" 3 stars only because it is in fact Euro Horror, and should be in everybody's "Zombie" collection. Okay, here are the facts. . .
1.) Contains "Cheesy" zombies. Example: you can see that they are wearing masks, and thier hands aren't completely covered.
2.) Poorly dubed. Ex: Voice-overs are bad.
3.) Acting in need of improvement.
4.) Decent "rip-em-up" Zombie action.
But hey, it's Euro Horror, it's all great! Check it out!

Summary: geat euro horror fun
Review: o.k. lets get to the facts about this film
1. not the best acting seen in a movie (not even close)
2. not the best script
3. not very good musical score
4. not very good dubing
so why five stars, well i bought this film becouse ilove euro zombie movies. what is beyond me is some people giving this film a bad rap becouse of the above four points, lets face it people how can you even consider buying a film like this if the above points are a problem to you. learn to do your homework before buying, as for the rest of us who love this movie and others like it we do so becouse it offers a lot of fun (for adults), others have already pointed out the funny lines so i wont bother. but people will find that along with the gigles there is horror i dont mean comedy horror no i mean dark horror the kind that makes you want to turn away from the screen, gory and dark, but this is what gives these films there fans lets face it some films which claim to be horror comedy lack in the horror department but films like this will give you something to laugh at and then scare you half to death as well as turning your gut inside out and leaving you with images that stick in the mind long after the film has ended. so if you are willing to put up with this films faults (which i belive are not even faults but a method of disarming the viewer before asulting them with images of grissly horror)you will find a film that will rank very highly in anybodys horror collection.BONUS shriek show have also put out agreat dvd of this film with some preaty good extras, and the film is uncut with a picture as good as this film will ever get

Summary: pretty good late night zombie movie
Review: after reading the negative reviews i wasnt expecting much.but i really enjoyed it the zombies were pretty cool looking with maggots and worms crawling all over them.the acting was really cheesy and it had a old sci fi like soundtrack that i thought gave it a nice effect.its also got a 4 ft. tall man/boy playing a kid that you have to see to believe.plus its got a good amount of blood and gore.ive seen far worse movies like hell of the living dead or city of the living dead this in my opinion was far better than both of those.

Summary: Horrible Horror
Review: This is easily the worst zombie or horror film I have ever seen. I'm watching this movie and can't believe how quickly it's going from bad to very bad to awful and finally stop on the dvd player. Some bad horror movies are actually good, if you know what I mean. Not this one. The movie is so Ultra Low-Budget that I felt Like I was watching a bad student film. I usually make myself sit through a movie no matter how bad it is, but this was unacceptable.
Trust me. Stay Clear of this one!!!

Summary: I don't know what these other people are thinking...
Review: Being a big horror movie fan, and recently on a Zombie flick kick I've been renting and buying Zombie movies left and right. While visiting my local cult video store I picked up a bunch of Zombie movies and this one was amoung them.

Hoping for a good fun italian romp in Zombie horror I popped this in with some friends. The verdict? This is hands down the worst Zombie movie I have ever seen.

The story is relatively pedestrian; a bunch of people are holed up in a mansion being assaulted by the undead. Only, it's not as much fun as it sounds. Lets go into what doesnt work.

1) The zombies - These [people] walk fast, then slow, then fast, then slow... they have some of the worst masks I have seen for zombies... they use weapons, including throwing knives and a battering ram... what the &#%$? It should (and indeed I thought it was) a rule that zombies arent that smart, their animals running on instinct. Even if they did pickup a knife and throw it they should not be excellent marksmen.

2) The acting - Bad. Really bad. Even for a B-movie zombie movie.

3) The music - Aside from being extremely cheesy, none of the music matched the action in the movie. In fact, the music sounded like something from a bad sci-fi space battle B-movie.

4) The cinematography - Lots of terrible framing, Blair Witch shaky cam, and zooming. Absolutely horrid.

5) There was actually incest in this movie. And it was very creepy. The incest between the freaky big headed kid and his mom was actually the only scary part of the film.

No for the things that worked... Uhm, oh yeah, nothing in this movie actually worked. The nudity was okay, but I'd rather download dirty pictures from any of the billions of porn sites than suffer through this flick for a couple of [body] shots.

All in all... terrible flick, do *not* waste your time. Or if youre a glutton for punishment, go rent it. But make sure you have a lot of alcohol with you and don't have access to any weapons.

Summary: Messengers of Death
Review: The earth shall tremble. . . .
Graves shall open. . . .
They shall come among the living
As messengers of death and there shall be
The nights of terror. . . .

PROPHECY OF THE BLACK SPIDER

Okay, you already know where we're going with this one! On an isolated country estate in Italy, Professor Ayers is conducting research into the ancient Etruscans and their obscure beliefs about the survival of the dead. One night, after stumbling upon some great and terrible secret (never defined), Ayers descends into a partially excavated Etruscan necropolis near the estate and finds that the dead walk again--and they are hungry. . . .

The next day, the owner of the estate arrives with some friends--three adult couples, and one child. The guests are briefly puzzled by the absence of the Professor, but the servants suggest that he has gone off to one of his work sites in the area. The adults in the party quickly retire to their rooms, where they proceed to shed their inhibitions and their clothes. One woman has a premonition of impending doom, but some erotic stroking by her partner soon diverts her attention to other, more pleasant matters.

On the following day, the three couples separate for various activities in and around the villa--and soon encounter the zombies. After several desperate struggles, the guests regroup at the villa, and undergo a long, harrowing night of siege. The zombies are surprisingly intelligent: they can use tools, set traps, and even throw objects. Gradually, one after another of the defenders of the villa perishes as the hands of the zombies.

By daybreak, only two men and two women survive. They flee from the villa and eventually take sanctuary at a local monastery. Unfortunately, another set of zombies has taken up residence here (looking rather like fugitives from Tombs of the Blind Dead). One of the men dies, but the final trio manages to escape. The three reach a nearby buidling--where they confront yet another horde of ravening zombies. . . .

A straightforward but energetic exercise in zombie mayhem, Italian style. The zombies are pretty gruesome in appearance, and there are some suitably revolting moments, including one in which a zombie bites off a woman's breast. With some partial female nudity and brief sexual situations.

If you are a Euro-horror fan, you will want this title in your collection.

Summary: uncut at last
Review: Believe it or not this classic movie was once released in a version cut to 65 minutes in the uk so it's great to finally get the chance to see it as the director intended.
These are some of the best zombies ever committed to celluloid. They are scary in the extreme in the way they move so slowly but inexorably toward their prey.I love the way this film just does not let up one bit right to the final shot.
Shriek Show have delivered a nice, bright transfer of the film if a little grainy and the colours aren't quite as solid as they should be but this is a fine disc to add to your collection.

Summary: Creepy!!
Review: The scariest part of this film is not the zombies eating people, it is not the fact that these horrible actors and actresses were given jobs, it is not the eerie, yet soothing, jacuzzi jazz soundtrack. It is the "child" played by 27 year-old Peter Bark. He's old, he wears a Marv Albert rug, and he's completely scary without trying to be. He runs like a girl and he wears his pants up to his armpits. Did I mention he has an unnatural love for his mother? Watch this movie, the vision of this "boy" will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Summary: one of the best zombie films ever!
Review: If you like sex and gore in equal helpings, look no further. If you like zombies who learn how to use garden implements and battering rams against the hapless humans they intend to munch out on, look no further. If you enjoy terrible acting/dubbing from a cast of virtual nobodies and the brain-searing sight of a 'child' being played by a thirtysomething year old midget, look no further.

Not so brilliantly acted or directed, Andrea Bianchi's Burial Ground is one of my favorite zombie films ever. It's sleazy, gory and unbelievably--well, you'll just have to see for yourself. Grab all your friends, have some beers and settle in, because this is a film you'll watch over and over and over again because it's just so amazing.

The DVD transfer is gorgeously bright! which is terrific, as the VHS copies floating around for years were so dark it was difficult to make out what was what from time to time. Now you can enjoy watching terrified victims stand around making mock horror faces as s-l-o-w moving zombies who appear to have flowerpots on their heads lumber s-l-o-w-l-y towards them in full living color.

Favorite line? "I've got an idea! We'll let them in! Maybe it's not US they want, but something IN the house!"

Yes. By all means, let them in.

Fabulous movie.
