Rating: Summary: Half good-Half bad........(MAJOR SPOILERS) Review: I am not a fan of sorcery and wizards, but being a large Tom and Jerry fan,I decided to give this movie a chance. It is good in some parts, old characters such as Droopy, the dog with the Irish accent and the black cat with the bandage on his tail(who now has done a facial makeover with lots of headfur). Nibbles is REALLY funny too. Anyway, though, the story gets boring real fast, seeings how Tom and Jerry don't talk like they did in the first one AND that it went on and on like a full-length CARTOON,not movie. And the ending was not very funny. The wizard gets mad at Tom,accusing him of trying to steal the magic ring and zaps him on the butt until he runs out of the house. The ring falls off Tom's finger (It was removed off of Jerry's head with "RING REMOVER",actually for furniture, and it accidently got on Tom's finger)and then un-freezes the angry mob chasing after Tom. They then chase him out into the city while Jerry laughs on the porch of the house. The wizard guy brings the fish out to Jerry and says that Jerry deserves it more than Tom. Then Jerry turns it into cheese and eats it. THE END. This movie was made by Warner Brothers ( who somehow got the rights to Tom & Jerry),a company that I hate(mostly because of Cats and Dogs, which promoted cat racism)So I would recommend that you buy Tom and Jerry:The Movie, instead.
Rating: Summary: fun and humorous in some places Review: i give this movie only 3 stars, i know coming from me that might seem a bit drastic if you've read my reviews before, the overall plot of the movie was simple enough: Tom trying to get a ring of Jerry's head, which is stuck. It belongs to what looks to be an amateur wizard without a face {in other words, Tom's master!!}. the movie isn't long, only an hour and 2 minutes. There's a lot of facial exaggerations as a tribute to Tex Avery...you know, eyes popping out of heads and tongues flapping a mile a minute and being pulled all over the place, etc. Tom and Jerry in this film still do not speak, unless you count the laughter out-bursts and the screams whenever there's trouble on the horizon. the funniest segments are when their famed co-stars pop in the movie: Droopy is a bus driver and later a fortune teller. Spike, the Irish dog, is still hilarious and it's him who you'll all laugh at! a black cat is also on hand...he sounds a bit like Mr. Jinx {Marlon Brando-ish if you don't know who Jinx is}. then the other Spike, and his son, Tyke, make appearances. the little gray mouse who in the MGM theatricals spoke French, appears but this time the mouse talks like a baby...it's a good little movie and there's plenty of humorous slap-stick violence...but it could have been a lot better.
Rating: Summary: NOT one of the good ol' Tom & Jerry cartoons. Review: This disapointing movie misses completely the spirit of the "good old Tom & Jerry" cartoons. The plot gets boring very soon, and the movie is too long and neither fun nor funny (there's a difference). It just feels like a cheap imitation of the original T&J toons. Simply lame. Go with "Greatest Chases".
