Summary: My Baby Finds This Boring
Review: My daughter is 9 months old. I think this DVD is just too serene and calm for her, but maybe she'll gorw into it. Art design is fine on this, but the music tracks could be better. ... I started my baby on Einstein, Mozart and Bach at about 3 months old and she still is capitvated by each of them. I recently showed her Neighborhood Animals which she loves also.

Review: So Smart! First Words is a thirty-minute video that effectively promotes parent-child interaction with an open-ended format as it presents fun-filled stories suitable for children ages 9 months through 3 years. Enhanced with animated animal characters and story time appropriate music, So Smart! First Words will build word identification, build vocabulary, and prove a welcome entertainment for its young viewers. So Smart! First Words is also available in a DVD format...

Summary: Beautifully done but doesn't hold my baby's attention
Review: This is animation which uses a lot of geometric shapes and is very slow moving. The music is excellent and fits very well with the animation. A female voice says simple sentences about what is going in in the animation. For example "My father sits in a low chair. I sit in a high chair" while showing a low chair and a high chair.

I think this is a beautiful, non-commercial video. It is very pleasant to listen to. However, it does not hold my son's interest. He watches for about five to ten minutes and then cries or plays. (We got So Smart when he was nine months and he is now fourteen months.) He does watch videos such as Baby Mozart completely.

It is not a completely bad thing that he doesn't watch all of it. He can listen to it while he plays--the music and voice-over are very high quality. However, I won't be buying any more So Smart since he doesn't seem to like it that much.
