Summary: Outstanding
Review: I feel that the art in this is first rate. I really enjoy the art style compared to the earlier more "flowing" type. I bought the DVD about a year ago special order from Hong Kong subtitled, but I had to spring for the dubbed...just easier to read! I love all kinds of anime, but this has to be my all time favorite, despite the underlying plot ;), that's just wrong!

Summary: If incest turns your stomach...
Review: ...then don't bother with this! The story started off with good possibilities but when it went off on that brother-sister love jag it got nauseating. I haven't seen the Manga, just this OVA but am glad I only rented it not bought it.

Summary: Manga vs. anime
Review: The Angel Sanctaury DVD is the OAV... which is no means bad..... just a lot different the the manga....The manga has a very intense and twisted plot, whereas the anime seems to have cut out a couple (what I think) are major characters. The DVD is good though, much better then many animes out there. But I sugest you check out the manga.

Summary: Surprising
Review: Well, if you are the religious type, then this story will seem a little off the sane edge. I thought that this story was great, and the animation absoultly wonderful. But it's ending left a few questions. It didn't end very informitivly, I thought. What gave it it's cruel edge was that, well if you all ready read a little about it, Setsuna was in love with his sister and everyone called him a monster for it. Since I don't want to give alot away, those that like to see heaven go crazy, and see cross dressing demons, this may be your type of movie. It has it's funny points, but it's eerie and great all in one

Summary: New to the story, loved it anyway
Review: Yep. Total newbie. I didn't have clue as to what was going on in this anime, not really. The whole reicarnation thing went right over my head since I didn't know any background info and it starts off with a little history recap thing I totally didn't get. But that's okay. You can still understand the character relationships, and even though I might have missed somthing in that war that happened like 300 years ago, I still get the main points of it all. Slight warning, it might put some people off since the main guy's emotional problem is due to the fact he's in love (yes, in a sexual way) with his own biological sister. But I think the relationship is played out very well. It works, and even though I can't help felling icky about, I want them to be together. ^.^ And just cause I have to mention it - Kira's a hotie. So yeah, whether you're looking for bishonen or angsty romance, this'll work.

Summary: Once in every while a good Anime comes along
Review: First of this Anime may apeal best to Goth lovers. I mean there's an intelligent story, some controversial sexual bit and stuff and heavy religious matter. Top that with some rather alternative characters and you have something along the lines of The Crow(and no not that horrible TV series of which the tapes should be burned for the blasphemy they contain). Well not exactly story wise but more the atmosphere.

What we have here is a great story about the war of angels against god.

Short synopsis: *SPOILERS* Alexiel(pardon the spelling mistakes if there are any) wages war against god and loses. She is reincarnated into several mortals over and over again. One in particular is at the Center of this Anime. An alternative boy who is secretly in love with his sister. During the story other character(demons, fallen angels, etc) try to awaken his powers (Alexiels soul) they do this by coming after the person he loves most.. His sister. You guessed it all hell brakes loose.

While judging from this short explination you might get the idea that this is some sort of hentai horror anime along the likes of Urotsukidoji.. This is totally not the case.

All subjects in this wonderful Anime are handled very subtle and you can really start to identify with the characters and their motives.

All in all highly reccomended. You have to have an open mind tho and not be offended by the controversial sexual issues. But I guess any intelligent person would love this wonderful story.

Summary: Angel Love.
Review: I have to admit that I liked this DVD and thought it was a great story. But, I was kind of weirded out by the incest parts. This left me knowing that this was not going to be one to share with the kids.

Summary: Can love survive the wrath of heavens?
Review: This story is all about the organic angel Alexiel who wages war against the heavens and her twin brother Rosiel who was put temporary in charge by god to rule the heavens. He goes mad because he suffers from a change that infects angels and decides to destroy earth. When his sister Alexiel wages the war against him, she loses and as a punishment her spirit will be doomed to reincarnate in human beings and each time die a horrible death. Years later Setsuna (a young boy who is really the newest reincarnation of Alexiel) struggles with horrific visions and supernatural powers while angels and demons flock to his awakening. Will he lead them to salvation or the apocalypse??? A grate story with fantastic anime colorisation..!!! ***** A ...M U S T ...S E E *****

Summary: Angel Sanctuary
Review: This anime collection is great. If you are an anime fan, you can't leave this title out of your collection. I saw the Japanese DVD version, and I cannot wait to get a copy for myself. The movie is intense with a deep storyline and plot about love and justice and the forces between good and evil. It truely shows that love comes in all forms and certainly has no boundaries. The animation is mesmerizing and overall the visuals are just aesthetic.

Summary: Missing something but good
Review: Well, I suppose I'm on a bit of a biased here since I read and watch the original Angel Sanctuary series (non-english), but I can still say that if you're an anime fan, this is a series you *must* get into. Often people complain about some details included -- crossdressing, drug abuse, drinking, blood, gore, religious topics, etc.. To tell the truth, that's what most anime/manga is like. It's normal, and if you want to be able to handle normal anime, watch this. The OVA chopped a good portion of the magnificent manga series out, but it's art is still a good reproduction of Karoi Yuki's and it's storyline is compelling. Don't be turned off by the "controversial topics"...you'll hardly notice them.
