Review: Bad cast. Retarted storyline. Plot is very weak. Character devleopment is so-so. Graphics ok. Music ok-but-could-be-better. The only reason you should get this movie is to please your 6 year old daughter. I think she would like this because the girl is the main character. The two headed dragon was a bit funny, but not enough to make you crack up. Warner Bros., made this movie, didn't they? Gawd, I got this movie because I thought it would be as good as The Iron Giant (A must-see). The director is very unexperenced. If you want to find the perfect movie for your child,or yourself, get a Disney or Dreamwokrs one, but you can't always trust Warner Bros. for a good movie.

Summary: Awkward and somewhat uninspired, but great score and songs
Review: Quest for Camelot is the story of a rather archetypical "spirited young lady", Kayley, who embarks on a quest to save King Arthur's Camelot when the King's fabled sword, Excalibur, is stolen by the evil knight, Sir Ruber, who also murdered Kayley's father. Along the way, she enlists the reluctant help of a blind hermit and once-aspiring knight named Garrett, along with the movie's comedy relief, a dragon whose two heads rather deprecatingly describe themselves as "the reason why cousins shouldn't marry." The one thing that compels me to give this movie a 3-star rating is its glaring awkward moments. Some scenes were handled very roughly, rather than with the gentleness that they should have been given. A few of these moments are not only awkward, but also make the movie somewhat unsuitable for the younger kids. Kayley stepping into a dragon's egg comes to mind, and some of the rather off-beat humor coming from the general direction of Cornwall, Devon, and the villan, Ruber, qualifies as well. Though Quest for Camelot has quite a few awkward moments, there are instances where the movie shines. The scene where Kayley finds that her father is dead was handled masterfully, with the disembodied song of her older self coming in at just the right moment and with just the right tone. Another masterpiece is the Lady Juliana's (Kayley's mother's) song, as superimposed over Kayley's flight from Ruben's mechanical henchmen. That is what really makes this movie wonderful: the songs. "Here in the Night" makes your heart swell as you listen to its climax, and Juliana's song, as performed by Celine Dion, fits seamlessly into the movie without making a ripple. And, even though off-beat humor is rampant throughout the movie, there are some lines that I, at least, found genuinely funny. [The Griffin, in response to Ruber's monologue of villanous triumph]: Precisely... Precisely... Precisely...
[Ruber]: And now, excalibur is mine!
[Griffin]:(mumbling)...Here's where we enter a gray area... I would also like to applaud the way Garrett was handled. Animated movies seldom let their characters venture into the realm of physical disability, with the heroes usually being either broad-shouldered, handsome men or skinny, beautiful women, all physically perfect. A few exceptions have cropped up, with Quasimodo of Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" being the first one that springs to mind. The only other glaring omission is that of spirit. Quest for Camelot somehow seems to lack the spirited, inspired quality of its Disney counterpart, Mulan. There are a few other gripes that I have... For example, I believe that the movie could have used Merlin just a little better. King Arthur, on the other hand, was handled wonderfully, bringing a legend unlike any other down to earth. The animation was a little shaky in a few places, though it ws very good for the most part. In short, Quest for Camelot could have been great; the score was wondeful, the characters for the most part original and powerful (Ruben was very, ver obviously mad), and the visuals (color, animation, backgrounds) were generally good. Its few flaws are, however, enough to make me drop two whole stars off its rating. If there was such a thing as a 3.5 star rating, then that is what Quest for Camelot should receive, becaue it is just a wonderful, imaginitive movie that only lacks the spirit and smooth handling necessary to make it a classic.

Review: Hello, Well I've seen this movie, and I liked it, the songs are O.K, the drawing is ok and the story is intertaining. So, I guess that is what a prity much relaxing movie is supposed to have. So if you just want to have a bit of fun. Go out and buy it.

Summary: Kayley is a great role model for little girls!
Review: If you are sick of simpering wimpy someday-my-prince-will-come heroines, you will love Quest for Camelot. Yes, the story is a tad weak (but most kids won't notice or care), but the strong lead characters, wonderful music and beautiful animation more than make up for that shortcoming.

Summary: Not as good as Disney, but it is close to it!
Review: This movie had some very good animations and there were some terrific computer animations, altough some things were a little disapointing. The voice cast was also very good, I especially loved Eric Idle as one half of the dragon. And I simply loved the songs of Celine Dion, LeAnn Rimes and the dragon(s) (you would almost think it's a Disney movie!) This movie is just fun for the whole family!

Summary: a new twist on king arthur
Review: i am very appreciative of the legends of king arthur and camelot, so naturally i saw this movie. i really liked the interperatation this movie showed. it had a very appealing story line and a vast array of characters, including a blind hero. the romance between the main characters draws you in and sweeps you away into their world. the music is both fun and enchanting. i highly recomend this movie for peope of all ages.

Summary: Do not diss the Quest!
Review: I loved Quest For Camelot, I watch it over and over again (a tad excessive, but never mind). Kayley is an inspiration, and ditzy enough to be funny. Cartoon makers always try to idealise their male leads, and Garrett is the only one I have ever seen where they got it right. He's as good as any Hollywood star. Devon and Cornwall are great, really funny, and my best friend and I love the songs as much as the films. (by the way, can anyone give me the lyrics to 'I Stand Alone'?)

Summary: A movie for everyone
Review: I honestly don't see why Quest for Camelot gets so much abuse from critics. It was a great movie. Visually, it was near perfect. The characters were well designed (I loved Ruber's nervous twitch - great detail for a villan!), and the colours were very nice too. The music in general was excellant, and the songs were even better (how can you argue with talent like The Corrs, Steve Perry, and LeAnn Rimes?). Kayley, the main character, is a great role model for young girls. She's tough, can fend for herself, isn't as anorexic as most female characters, yet she's feminine all at the same time. WHat more could you want in a cartoon? Oh, and the DVD transfer for this movie is probably one of the best I have seen so far. The picture is EXTREMELY clear.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: Quest for Camelot features something Disney is not quite used to - originalility - if one is to judge by the quality of this animated film. While the art is impressive, the storyline is EXTREMELY weak, the villain was barely developed (he has about seven lines), and the plot had a surprising number of holes and loops. Much of the cartoon is taken up by the venture of the main characters through the Forbidden Woods to recover Arthur's Excalibur, making frequent detours to such locations as "Dragonland" (where the surprisingly unfunny two-headed dragon is met and befriended), all the while being chased by the main villain and his army of mechanical monsters that he created by using a magic potion. Naturally, the villain is negligent of his superior forces - rather than razing Camelot, as he is planning, he is chasing a small group of people. The final scene where the blind woodsman returns to rescue the girl is as close to soap operas as cartoons get. The songs are completely unremarkable, even rough, and the jokes are completely uninteresting (the Dragon seems to imitate Alladin's Genie and his around-the-world humor - and fails). Bad, bad, bad, rent, watch, flush.
