Summary: The Emperor's Got A New Groove All Right!
Review: This is a hilarious movie! It shows good scenes of friendship and loyalty. I didn't see the movie in theaters, or buy it once it was on video. When I first saw the previews, I thought it looked a little stupid. I first saw it on A Wonderful World of Disney on channel 7, and I though it was really good movie. So, after that, I bought it. It's a 2 thumbs up, and a must have!
Later Days!

Summary: "New Groove", the funniest of Walt Disney's features...
Review: Even if you do not like Disney's post-"Lion King" attempts, you still have to give the studio credit for making each movie so diverse from each other. "The Emperor's New Groove", is without a doubt the most comical of Disney's movies. Odd thing is, that if you weren't to see the "Walt Disney Pictures" intro, you would'nt know it was Disney. This is becuase "New Groove" departs in both animation & story-telling styles that has been Disney's trademark. This film is narrated by the film's main character, Emperor Kuzco, and has more of a fast pace Saturday morning cartoon feel to it (that's not a bad thing, BTW).

In the story of trying to destroy the emperor but instead turning him into a Llama, the villains once again steal the show. However, unlike "Hercules", the good guys are characters you like and care about. It's just that Yzma (probably the most outragoeus of all the Disney villains) and Kronk have all the qualities of live action comedian, including timeing and style that makes you want to laugh. Kuzco and Pacha, have funny moments to, but some of them are forced.

The DTS 5.1 track on the DVD is awesome, and the digital-to-digital transfer is flawless.

It is a whole lot more comedic than "Aladdin", but it's not the same type of movie. "Aladdin" has comedic releif, in an otherwise serious adventure tale. While, "The Emperor's New Groove" has some dramatic relief in an otherwise hysterical adventure tale. Great submission from Disney!

Summary: You Can't Help But Laugh
Review: After seeing this movie the first time, I told all my friends they had to see it (I'm 16 years old). A friend of mine that goes to college was skeptical (to say the least; he wouldn't even buy his own ticket!), protesting that it was a "kids' movie". He laughed his head off. That's how this movie is; you can't help but laugh. I recommend this movie for anyone of any age. Warning: The first fifteen minutes or so are just kinda stupid, but don't let that stop you from watching one of the funniest movies ever.

Summary: Just shy of a five-llama rating
Review: I avoided seeing this movie in theaters, due in large part to the television and print ads which made the film seem dumb and uninteresting. I bought the DVD largely because it was a special edition and I want to encourage Disney to make more. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the film was a pretty straight comedy buddy picture which didn't get bogged down in obligitory romances or other typical plot devices. It's not really one of my favorite animated films, but it's fun and I like it.

This is a pretty good special edition, though it lacks that bit of extra oomph that would have made it a great one. The bonus material gives viewers a pretty good overview of the film's production, including some nice bits of rough animation of the major characters. The commentary, while lacking the guys-sitting-around-talking-about-their-movie-and-having-fun informality of something like "A Bug's Life", is infortmative without being boring. I guess my main gripe with this DVD is the lack of real information about the "Kingdom of the Sun" version of the film. I realize that Disney wasn't really happy with the way that was going and would probably rather forget it. But a synopsis of the original plot would have been interesting, even if it only shows why that version was scrapped. Overall, this is a nice DVD that will please fans of the film and provide some interest for the animation buffs.

Summary: The funniest movie I've ever seen!
Review: I LOVE watching The Emperor's New Groove! It all happens in
Peru, when a bad woman named Yzma who is actually the
selfish and proud emperor Kuzco's advicer turns Kuzco into
a llama because she was angry when Kuzco fired her. Pacha,
a man, helps Kuzco become a human again by trying to drink
a liquid that will make Kuzco into human again. Will Kuzco
become human, or will he stay llama forever? This movie is
so funny. I laughed so much!

Summary: Fun story, great jokes!
Review: Like Alladin this Disney video captivates both young and old! The jokes are obviously geared at the adults, but the animation and story are clearly for the young at heart! My two year old loves it, and laughs at the antics of the lama!

Summary: The Funniest Disney Movie Ever!
Review: Out of all the Disney movies I have seen, this is the funniest of them all. You won't regret buying this on DVD or VHS.

Summary: great film for adults not for kids
Review: I personally loved this movie and watched it twice in the theater. Once with 6 year old daughter(who hated it) and second time with 14 year old daughter who found it very funny. Buy it you won't be sorry. Excellent cartoon. John Goodman is great.

Summary: A Disney treasure for all
Review: How many times can you hear a 20-year-old say "Um, I've been turned into a cow. Can I go home?" and still think it's funny? Apparently, a LOT, as this is my roommate's current response to any and all trying situations. Not to leave you with any sort of negative impression, the two of us basically consistently crack each other up repeating one-liners and watching our copy of the hilarious Emperor's New Groove every time we have the opportunity.

Although I have a bias in favor of Disney movies, enjoying nearly every movie since the Little Mermaid, and most before, even my friends with more "discriminating" tastes enjoy this movie, as well as the various children I am acquainted with. Disney employs a great graphic style, the perfect voice characterizations, and a script that flows smoothly from joke to joke and humorous scene to humorous scene, leaving the viewer all "warm and tingly" from the strong postive message and vibes.

Until Disney's next great movie comes out (which should be soon, right???), we're going to keep watching Groove and laughing out loud. In other words, "Squeaken squeak squeak."

Summary: Disney without music!
Review: The Emperor didn't get as much applause as he deserved. David Spade is his usual selfish jerk character--except this time he's animated! John Goodman has basically taken the place of Chris Farley. I think that it's Disney's best since Toy Story. And though they won't make as much of a profit without a soundtrack, I LOVE the fact that there is no music. Finally an animated movie with a script that stands alone!
