Rating: Summary: Excellent Counting Video! Review: This has been a great video for teaching our preschooler the concept of using numbers to count things [which she just didn't get prior to seeing this video]. Now she is learning to count objects and has a wonderful time singing the songs. I think it is a cute video and an ingenious way to get little ones interested in numbers. We are very grateful for all the Richard Scarry learning videos - they are real winners!
Rating: Summary: A warning truly needed? Review: This video is great for children to learn counting. As for the earlier review stating it was Trite Tripe, I believe that has to be for another video. The actors are non-human for one good reason, they are animals not humans. The songs are not passionless, in fact the little ones are singing them after a few viewings. The farmer is not creepy, he is a polite fox. I do admit that I have yet to find the reference to '1984' or 'Nowhere Man' for the hidden agenda so on this I can not comment. Am I to guess we need a Gov't warning on this box?
Rating: Summary: Our Son Loves It! Review: We bought this DVD based on reviews read here and it was a great purchase. Our 8 months old son has loved this DVD since the first time he saw it. We've had it for about 4 months and he still loves it enough to spin his head around when he hears the intro and then actually sit still for the entire 1/2 hour. It is old fashioned animation, but our son prefers this over many newer kids DVDs including Elmo. We also have the Learning Songs version and he loves that too. The Learning Songs version is a bit more enjoyable the 100th time you've seen it, but both are great.
