Summary: Disney as done it again, Simba's Pride is wonderful!!
Review: I was shocked with how much I enjoyed this sequel. I especially thought that the voice talent was exceptional. The actress who did the young Kiara (Michelle Horn) captured the spirit of a rebellious young princess perfectly. My whole family has watched Simba's Pride over and over again.

Summary: GREAT, but not as good as the first one
Review: This movie is really great, perfect animation and good songs, but you can see that it is a remake. Many things goes like in the first movie. Raffiki, which shows Kiara and Kovu a special place, Timon and Pumba crying like in the first one, in scenes wich aren't funny...and so on. This movie is great, I don't judge it as a bad thing. But it's too near at the first one. But anyway, buy and go to see it, it's worth the money. Lion King is better, but this movie is also great, don't forget to watch it.

Review: Disney does it again with the sequel to the 1995 hit, The Lion King! The Lion King, Simba (Matthew Broderick), has brought a new generation into the world with his daughter Kiara. She does not want to be queen, so she runs off into the Outlands, where she meets Kovu (Jason Marsden.) This young cub is the heir-in-training to Scar's Legacy, under the protective, if somewhat manipulative, claws of his mother, Scar's evil, murderous, vindicative and angry widow Zira (Suzanne Pleshette), and her two sidekicks, Nuka (Andy Dick) and Vitani (Charity Sanoy). Fortunately for them, Kovu and Kiara fall in love. This, of course, does not sit well with their respective families. Can the two lovers manage to patch a rift between their families before two worlds collide?

Summary: Very good, for a movie released on video.
Review: The animation is not <i>quite</i> up to the standards of the first movie, probably because they didn't study lions while drawing it but had to settle for housecats. This doesn't really hurt the movie though. There are a LOT of shots/scenes and a few lines of dialogue that are VERY reminiscent of things from the first movie, though I won't go into detail for fear of giving away part of the plotline. But there are tons of them. I personally think the music in the first one was more impressive. If you really liked Timon and Pumbaa in the first movie, you will probably like them here. The heart shapes in the song about Upendi I thought were rather unnatural; they clash with the rest of everything because they look artificial, kind of like neon lighting, which is not something one generally finds in this type of setting. All the Outlanders somehow look like Scar, being built the same way, with the same shape head and all, which is suspicious--you can tell the good guys from the bad guys by physical traits?--but could be explained by their being a family group; maybe Scar had lots of sisters and cousins--and the way it ends, it doesn't matter, the message in the end is positive. I hear that Nuka, the scraggly one, has the voice of Andy Dick, who was also the EMH-Mark 2 in Star Trek: Voyager. Cool!

Summary: I Was Impressed
Review: After being disapointed by several of Disney's sequals (I'm talking about the crummy artistry), I was delighted with the work they put into this great movie. It did have a few loose ends (where did all the lionesses come from . . . and how come, if Scar hand-picked Kovu to be his sucsessor, he wasn't older than Kiara?) but other than that, it was a great film. Plus the names were ingenious. Did you know that "Kovu" means "Scar"? And "Zira" means "Hate"? I think that fit her prerfectly, and that song she sings "My Luliby," is positively ingenious. The one thing I didn't like was that Mufasa told Rafiki what to do about his granddaughter and Kovu . . . it goes against my beliefs. I wish they would have just left Mufasa out of this second one and had Rafiki think it up by himself. But otherwise I was very pleased. This movie is great! A must-see for Lion King fans. C.I. Review: I thought that this was a great movie over all, although there were many boring parts. This was a very exciting movie, and I liked most of the songs. However, I think that Disney could have done better, though. The first one was much better.

Review: Although a rich story, this second "Made for Video" sequel just doesn't punch as much of an impact as the original did. Great songs and storyline help this not so epic film get off the ground. It is however a great kids film! Your children will spends many hours watching this one over and over again. - Eric Boerner
