Summary: A Kid's Movie?
Review: Absolutely wonderful. Such a pleasing summer film to take the entire family. Everyone will enjoy this one, from the younger toddler to the older grandpa. The story is appealing and the characters are so loveable. If you have not seen this movie because you think it is just another kids film, please stop guessing and see for yourself. You will have a good time.My only hope is that they don't mess it up with a Shriek 2. (smile)

Summary: A lot of fun
Review: An entertaining film with a bit of a mean streak which I, for one, appreciated. An evil prince persecutes the fairy tale characters who inhabit his realm and it falls to an ogre named Shrek both to protect them and to rescue a princess. It's a lot of fun to watch the familiar characters in a new context. There's plenty of action and an uplifting message for the kids, as well as more adult humor to keep grown-ups involved as well. The music is also used well, contributing to scenes (particularly at the beginning and end) that just made me feel happy. Just one question: in a film whose message is supposed to be that we should look beyond appearences to appreciate the person beneath, why is it still okay to make fun of the little guy? There were times when I expected Randy Newman's old hit "Short People" to appear on the soundtrack. It wasn't enough to sour me on the film but, being verically challenged myself, I just had to wonder.

Summary: Ok movie
Review: When I went to see this movie, I was expecting to have several good laughs. Unfortunately... what I get instead were some rather stale humor (though there were a few rare instances that made me laugh). The voice acting was ok; nothing that was impressive or made you go wow. The animation is pretty good, though not as impressive as found in the movie "Final Fantasy: Spirits Within". "Shrek" is an ok movie, though I do wish I had waited for video on this one.

Summary: Very funny movie but not for young kids...
Review: I may be a prudish person but some of the jokes in Shrek were too off color for kids. Yes it's a different world now than when I grew up but I think kid's shouldn't see things and hear things until they're a teenager. It's a funny and inventive film which is hard to do these days but parents see it first before you let your small kids watch it.

Review: This animation isn't only for kids as there are some very clever send-ups of Disney as well as other cartoon characters. Then there's the terrific animation, which is fun to see by itself. The real charm of the flick is the multi-level story line, making it appealing for both adults and children, and as I mentioned, the jibes at some of the more venerated cartoon icons are well done and very funny.

Review: This is the most spatacular movie I've seen since Oz. It is hillariously funny, musical great for all ages. I've taken my Aunt,my grandmother,my cousins,my mom,and my dad. That is 5 times I've seen this movie and I know a great movie when I see one!

Summary: So very different
Review: This movie tries so hard to be 'different' from all of the cliches of Disney cartoons but fails. This is one of those movies that is set to make the audience laugh, cry and give a lesson at the same time. So you see, there is no novelty here. There is also an awful version of Leonard Cohen's "Halleluiah" which kills the original of the song. Good animations though...

Review: I have to admit I did go to see the film twice and was sceptical if I would enjoy it the second time ,but I can't believe how many jokes I missed the first time, an excellent family film whith a great story and original characters
