Summary: I loved it
Review: I loved Mulan! The dialogue was great, and the story itself was very well done. I have nothing but praise for any movie that can take me from tears to laughter in the space of two minutes. I was initially worried about Eddie Murphy's role (must every Disney hero have a silly sidekick?) but his character, I thought, only added to the movie. He was really good at being comic relief and at helping to move the story forward. In fact, I thought he did a better job than most of the other sidekicks! This was one of the best movies of 1998, and the best Disney in years. I look forward to buying it and watching it again and again.

Summary: A Fantastic Movie
Review: Mulan got me interested in Disney again. I've always loved their movies but the last few years I have not enjoyed the movies at all. At 20 years old, I thought I was growing out of Disney (a somewhat disconcerting thought *S*) but Mulan proved that wrong. It was great, a fantastic story, it's a movie I can watch again and again. I will definately be buying the video.

I loved the strong female character, the fact that she used her mind as well as the fighting skills she learned was great. Disney did a good job with Mulan by giving us a movie that adults and children both can watch and love. I can only hope they can repeat that quality in their next effort. Mulan is my favorite Disney movie besides Beauty and the Beast.

I would strongly recommend this to anyone who can tolerate animated movies, it is not one to miss.

Summary: Wow, what a flick!
Review: Finally! A Disney movie that combines fantastic animation with quality screen play. The story is epic, the emotions real. I forget I was in a movie theatre and that the characters before me were animated. This movie is a definite must see!

Summary: Mulan, fighting her way into your heart.
Review: Mulan finds herself entrapped when she makes a poor appearance in public, which costs her family honor. To regain her pride as well as her family's, she journeys off to train in a military to fight in place of her father. During this adventure, she is guided by an overconfident dragon named Mushu sent by her ancestors. This pair is a hilarious combination. In the end, find out how Mulan regains her family's honor. There is also a surprising twist to the ending.

Summary: The dragon wasn't necessary
Review: Overall, the film is excellent! The dragon, however, was not necessary; he was more of a distraction to the epic sweep of the movie.

Summary: It's different from what the Chinese think.
Review: In the opinion of most Chinese people, Mulan should be beautiful and she was the belle that could draw the attention of most men. However, in the cartoon, she was too common to attract others.

Summary: Mulan breaks new ground
Review: For all the hype about "Prince of Egypt" being an "adult" film, it's funny to me that it doesn't even come CLOSE to being as adult and challenging as "Mulan" (...nd the animation and color are much better, too!!). Aside from the AWFUL "disco" epilogue (the very final 2 minutes of the film with the dancing elders), "Mulan" is a terrific film. Here's hoping Disney puts back in the 2 scenes they cut just before the original release.
