Summary: a duel-holiday favorite
Review: This is a great movie! The animation is lively & the songs are funny & terrific. Between Tim Burton's freaky/funny vision & Danny Elfman's songwriting (& splendidly haunted, poignant singing) what imaginative forces we have at work here. Some of the spooky creatures scare even me, though, & it vividly depicts a Santy-Claus kidnapping, so beware with younger children. Otherwise, enjoy!

Summary: Beautiful and Entertaining
Review: I remember when I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas in the theaters. I came out filled with joy and happier than ever! The stop-motion animation is remarkible. The characters and worlds by Tim Burton are enchanting. To put it short: This film is one of the best I've ever seen. It's fun, has amazine visuals, a clever story, and great music and songs. It's was a shame it got rated PG, for some reason parents wouldn't take their children to it. The only reason it was rated PG is because it may be too scary for kids under 5. All the parents who kept their kids from this musical, get it now!

Summary: A great movie for anyone of any age.
Review: The movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is an amazing movie. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween. When he discovers the magical world of Christmastown, he decides that Halloweenland can take over the job of "Sandy Claws" and make their _own_ version of Christmas! The results amaze everyone, including Jack-----and it's Sally the Rag Doll who manages to save Jack . . . and Christmas! The movie is filled with gorgous stop-motion animation, and the music is nothing short of spectacular. Whether your are age 7 or 117, this movie is sure to touch your heart. END

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: My review might be biased because I love Tim Burton's work. It's a mixture between bizzare and beautiful. Your taken into this strange and unhappy world. The characters suck you in. I was able to watch this movie with my friends or with my little brothers and sisters. It's amazing!

Summary: The best movie ever
Review: This is why DVD was invented...to give viewers a closer look at the film and how it was made. This DVD has everything a TNBC fan and aspiring animator could dream of, from character development sketches to pre-production animation tests. The film-to-storyboard comparison alone is worth it even if it is only for a small section of the film. It is a friendly reminder of how much planning goes into making an animated film, before any frames are even recorded. Just a script and lots and lots of drawings. The other bonus materials highlight the "tweaking" that occured during production, really bringing you in to the artists' decision-making process. Fun fact: Jack Skellington's legs are so thin that early animation tests revealed "strobing" problems in the film. The deleted scenes are fascinating, and reveal unknown plot twists (spoiler alert: Oogie Boogie = the evil scientist in disguise). The inclusion of Tim Burton's early short films "Vincent" and "Frankenweenie" is the icing on the cake, and its clear upon seeing them that Mr. Burton had been nurturing the character and style of "Nighmare" long before it was made (look for Jack and Sally look-alikes in "Vincent"'s nightmare sequence) . Besides all these wonderful bonus features, the movie is a classic must-see.

Summary: Eeeeexcellent...
Review: Perfect film to watch with family and friends for Halloween AND Christmas! Or in fact, any day of the year. Really, it's quite good (OK, it's REALLY great). Very dark in its design but it also contains a very uplifting tale and I think anyone of any age can enjoy (though perhaps not the wee ankle biters--the ghouls might scare them).

The stop-motion animation in NIGHTMARE is quite amazing and a treat for the eyes. Honestly, it's quite extraordinary what the animators and director did with both character design/movement and camera-panning. The songs by Danny Elfman are... wow. Singable, catchy, some a bit melancholy, others just pure fun. Never, ever boring. So what are you wasting your time for with reading this review? At least go out and rent this masterpiece. :)
