Summary: The best animated feature ever made.
Review: The Little Mermaid is the best animated film ever made, which makes it Disney's best and one of the world's favourite movies. The animation is spot-on and the story is cute, adorable and lovely. I have loved this film for years and I never will stop loving it.

Ariel is a fantastic human-interested mermaid who has fallen in love with Prince Eric form above the seas. When the wicked sea octopus Ursula makes Ariel a deal that if she will grant Ariel's wish for legs but if she doesn't kiss the Prince within 3 days, Ariel will become Ursula's property.

I love this adorable film so much! I hope you liked my review.

Summary: The best score for a Disney film
Review: Disney took the classic fairy tale and gave it a happy ending. Luckily, this does not spoil the tale in my opinion - and we were all expecting it, anyway, weren't we?

While the story is good, the music score is great. Alan Menken did a perfect job of scoring this. The melodic lines are pure and beautiful, with a slightly jazzy feel to the entire movie. Among the best pieces are "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World".

Since Disney still has its policy of withdrawing their releases to whet the public's appetite, you need to buy this - there's no telling when it may be available again.

Summary: Wonderful Movie
Review: I loved this movie when I was nine and it first came out, and I love it now even though I'm almost twenty. The animation is beautiful, such as the opening tour of the sea to the lilting tune of "Fathoms Below" and the tour of the kingdom, and the score is undisputably wonderful and memorable. There are some classic movie moments here; seeing the waves crash up around Ariel as she sings the reprise of "Part of Your World" still gives me chills up and down my spine, and "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" are great scenes too. Some people have expressed concern about the supposedly sexist plot. I suppose if you insist on looking at every male/female role in the movie as a symbol then you could complain about this, but in my opinion these characters have enough personality to rise above standing as simple symbols, so there isn't anything to worry about. (The same is not true, I think for Pocohontas -- in that movie the political correctness was so stifling that the characters were boring and you were never really allowed to feel any emotions about them.) Anyways, like I said, the score is great, and if you buy the movie you may as well buy the CD as well because you're going to want to sing the songs even when you're away from the TV. This is the first of the brief but great period of collaboration between Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. Together they also did "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", and "Little Shop of Horrors" which all come highly recommended. They deserve most of the credit for Disney's animation renaissance of the early '90s, which, I think is unfortunately long over by now. (The pop-modernistic music of "Tarzan" does not appeal to me in the least, and I think it will quickly become outdated, unlike this timeless score.) In conclusion, GET this movie -- it's worth your money.

Summary: Great movie, DVD almost as good.
Review: Growing up, I loved The Little Mermaid for its songs, its characters, and its storyline. I especially think that Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull are helpful with providing the comic relief. And, considering that my VHS copy was suffering enough from repeated viewings, I jumped at the chance to purchase this DVD. I was not disappointed! The sound and picture quality are great, and it's good to finally see it in widescreen. The lack of special features for this disc did not bother me that much. The widescreen and multiple language selection are just fine for me. So it's to the people who love the movie, do not own the DVD, and don't mind the lack of special features that I recommend this disc to.

Summary: Just Great
Review: I personally am a great fan of disney. Whoelse would give us talking silverware, boys going on strike and singing a song about, and yes the lovable little mermaid Ariel, who wants nothing more but to be part of our world. The little mermaid is a big success, it gave us the hope to dream and so many memorable moments. This is definatly a keeper

Summary: ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAV. ANIMTED FILMS
Review: Disney is at their utmost best on this one. It is probably the best animated feature in the history of Walt Disney, as it has everything a masterpiece animated feature needs : terrific animation, humour, adventure, suspense, romance, gorgeous songs, mystery, imaginative character and a really ingenious plot. Ursala the Sea Witch is probably the best Disney villain, Eric is undoubtedly the most charming prince in Disney Animation History, and the entire way hans Christian Anderson's original story was adapted is terrific. You've got to get this, and fast. You won't be dissapointed, trust me...
