Summary: Why does animation keep getting worse.....?!
Review: It seems like animation shows on superheroes come out every season now. The only consistent thing about them is that the animation keeps getting worse. The characters look like two dimensional drawings with limited movement and the voice acting stinks. The writing is clearly aimed at the kids. Which is why I prefer the live action movies that Marvel is doing now. They have shown the X-Men as mult-layered characters, and when it's done in live action, and played by real actors, it has a much greater degree of credibility and can be taken more seriously then animation can never achieve. So I say to Marvel, keep doing the live action movies of your characters, and save the animation for characters that belong there like Bugs Bunny.

Review: Looks like you didn't give the series a chance. Jubilee is in fact in season 2, have not you seen the fireworks? She is there with Iceman, Cannonball, Berserker, Magma, and others. Gambit comes later along with Pyro and Colossus when the time for Apokalips is at hand. So if your gonna post a reveiw, make sure you got your facts right okay. Toodles

Summary: Great for Kids
Review: My son loves super heroes and now it's the X-Men. This newer version of the X-Men is a great success. The characters are well developed, the stories are thoughtful, yet playful and of course, there's just enough action to keep the little one's wishing they were Wolverine. This show is less violent than the older, "uncanny' X-Men cartoon; which is actually better for the younger ones. I really like the show as well, and I didn't think I would (as a die-hard fan of the 'uncanny X-Men' cartoon series several years ago.)Our only mistake is that we bought the video instead of the DVD. The Video does include all that the networks seem to have cut out when they broadcasted the cartoon (the introduction, which often helps the story line) We also bought some of the past releases on videos (they are only available on video), but the sound quality in the beginning was a bit distorted. However, each story plays perfectly and the tape in tact. It would be great if they would bring back this cartoon in the day time (PST) and had X-Men evolution 'stuff' AND bring back the comic book series that was based on this show. IT made great bedtime reading for a 5 year old and would be great for any young reader just begining to read on his/her own.

Summary: Great Spin on an Amazing Franchise
Review: Sure, there's controversy-a-brewin over this show because it turns some of the classic "X-Men" characters into high school kids, but I think it helps make the message of Stan Lee's original book come across to a younger crowd -- a lesson of tolerance and acceptance. It's a perfect fit to have these "mutants" discovering these new powers as their bodies change into adulthood. That having been said, Warner Bros. is getting us again with a no-frills disc that boasts a selection of languages as a Special Feature.

Summary: A unique spin on the original...
Review: Sure, you've got the purists out there who despise anything that monkeys with the "canonical" origins of these characters. And I guess I agree. It's kind of like watching a re-envisioning of "Star Wars" where Han and Luke are academy buddies fighting over Leia's affections. But I digress. "X-Men Evolution" is an interesting concept -- it reintroduces the characters to a younger audience in a way they can relate to them. It still keep some of the characters as they were, and continues to add layers of mystery to the series. I was psyched to see this show hit Cartoon Network recently and now am double psyched to see it on DVD... but I would love to know what eps are on the DVD. I've managed to piece together what's on the various VHS releases and it's like 6 episodes across 3 tapes, with 2 more tapes I can't figure out... any help would be appreciated. I just hope they do this right and put on 5 or 6 episodes... that's almost 3 hours of enertainment and makes this DVD worht the [price].

Summary: Should've released it as the complete second season
Review: The first season of this show was where it started. The sceond season was when it started to get reall good. All of these episodes are good but i'm kinda getting bored with Badda-Bing Badda-Boom. Tabitha is a good charcter and she comes back to the institute in the third season. She leaves the brotherhood house when Mystique came back. She wasn't happy to learn that Avalanche had tried to join the X-men but she soon straightens them out. Power Surge focuses on Jean and her teleapthy problem. The team helps her get under control soon. This is a great bunch of episodes and i'm sad that the series was cancelled. It's still on Cartoon Network though.

Review: This series doesn't mince words with the comic. If you are looking for cheesy characters and the same old story line as the comics go for the 90's episodes. If your going for something new and a revitilized x-men than watch this. This is a new day for mutants and shows the trouble of high school teenage mutants. My son and I watch it and both enjoy it, so it is good from 4 yr's old to 27. Those of us who have been reading for a while will recognize and be amazed by how many chaaracters are brought to the new generation that we remember from our youth. really a great show and worthwile buy.

This show is best viewed as a series, and it would have made more sense to simply come out with the entire second season on 1 DVD than simply throw a few episodes on a disc. That being said, if you can't wait for them to do that, I recommend grabbing this DVD. No extra features are included, but the show is one of the best comic book adapatations I've seen.
