Summary: Horrible. Simply awful.
Review: Ralph Bakshi's version of TLoTR is a disgrace to mankind. Although I am a fan of Bakshi's work {especially "wizards"}, I am left wondering what he was thinking when he released this garbage. Don't watch unless you are a huge Tolkien fan {like me}.

Summary: A Bakshi classic
Review: One of the best animated movie ever made!! I first watched it when i was 7 and it still is one of the best ..I must admit that it lacks in some cases like it only summerizes the first part of the book but it couldnt be better.. the new tecnique which makes ralph bakshi what he is , is perfect.. A must see

Summary: such a waste
Review: Just as a movie, I enjoyed it but compared to the books it is a shamble. Much of story is left out and the representation of the characters is awful. the best thing about ths movie is the music.

Summary: Fabulous but unfaithful to Tolkien
Review: I have watched this movie more often than I can count and I enjoy it every time. The animation is superb and Ralph Bakshi did a great job of blending humans and animation long before Robert Zmeckis did "Roger Rabbit." Bakshi's depiction of the Nazgul and the Orcs of Mordor and Isengard is chilling. Sadly, Mr. Bakshi strays too much from Tolkien's text and story line. The chronology of the books is ignored in some places and several of the names and indentities of characters are either mispronounced or misplaced. Glorfindel is replaced by Legolas entirely and we never get to see Denethor or the Eorlingas. Moreover, Bakshi never finished the story and the films ends after the battle of Helm's Deep. Nonetheless, Ralph Bakshi was able to put together a visually stunning example of the one of the greatest pieces of literature ever written; I love it despite it's flaws.

Summary: The Lord Of The Rings
Review: The best cartoon ever made by man. Even though the history goes only half way, still it is the best. As said many times, once seen, we want to watch it over and over again. Where can I find the video to buy? How much would it be?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I think this movie is fantastic
Review: My only gripe with this movie is how it leaves you hanging in the middle of no where. The intended sequel was never made by Bakshi so your just going to have to live with his ending. Besides that its a great adventure with superb animation and art. Never before have I enjoyed a fantasy/medieval setting in animation as much.

Summary: The Lord of the Rings & your own imagination
Review: Since this movie ends half way through the story, but nevertheless is an amazing thing to watch. If you read the trilogy before you watch the movie, you might find some interesting interpretations in it, but if you haven't read it before, the movie almost forces you to, since the end is left open.

Summary: Good but not finshed!
Review: It's a pity this isn't compleated because I would have loved to see "The Return Of The King", but it was good while it lasted. It would be a lot better if it was more realistic like the one that is being made in New Zealand by a man named Peter Jackson that should be compleated in year 2001 I think.

E-mail me if you want to.

Summary: Faithful adaptation
Review: Ralph Bashki manages to faithfully reproduce Tolkien's Lord of the Rings in amazing detail and richness. The spectacular animation will be enjoyed by any fan of the fantasy genre. A must see for Tolkien enthusiasts! The only dissapointing part of the film is that it ends half way through the Two Towers book. Bashki's talent translates into vivid animation that is in no way Disneyesque (thankfully) and breathtakingly captures the spirit of Middle Earth.
