Summary: Brings me back to childhood...
Review: I've been submitting my request for this on DVD for almost two years now... I LOVED this movie as a child and love it just as much, if not more, as an adult! Now all I need is to have it on DVD!?!?!?!

If Dot and the Kangaroo can go out of print for many, many years and then make a come back on DVD, why can't "The Last Unicorn"???

This movie is well worth the $$$ and has an awesome soundtrack by America!

Summary: A memorial keepsake
Review: When I was little, I loved watching this movie on Beta (if you can believe it!). But after the age of 6, I don't recall ever being able to find it again. I always remembered it though. Amazingly enough, when I was 18, I found it on VHS in a grocery store! The story brings back all the fantasy and imagination that most children's movies have lacked. I rank it along side of "Spirited Away", a highly acclaimed Japanese animated film. Just an amzing movie with wonderful music and terrific characters.

Summary: Beautiful Fantasy
Review: This movie is one of the mosy beautiful and heartbreaking animations ever released. Far better suited for a more mature audience, it delves into relationships and self sacrifice more than comedy (thank God). Any one who is as sick of dancing gargoyles or pathetic attempts at a serious topic will be happy to see this movie. The Last Unicorn combines amazing artwork, enchanting music, and a beautiful story to take the hearts away from any one who dreamed of seeing a unicorn.

Review: All I can say is PUT THIS MOVIE ON DVD!!!! Get everyone on the amazon.com list so the company who owns the rights to this wonderful movie will get the idea of making a region 1 DVD. It's going to be released in Australia shortly and it's in the UK. I'm 29 and watch this movie at least 3 times a year! My sister and friends also love this!

Summary: One of the best animated movies made
Review: This is one of the very few films I remember seeing as a kid. It's one of those movies that just grabs you. I would say it compares very favorably to the best classic Disney movies- except without the predictable Disney plots or sacharine Disney endings. But then this is not a Disney film. Which is probably why it's not as well known.

I wish they would give it a full blown restoration and release it as a 2 disc boxed set with lots of extras. I've been looking for it for years, I finally found and bought the import DVD on eBay. It cost a bit more from overseas but this is one film I would pay extra to have. It's a movie you can watch again and again and get new meaning out of each time. Definately a classic unlike any other animated classic.

Summary: Any Little Girl's Dream
Review: When I was a little girl I discovered this movie in a hole in the wall rental place with my Great Aunt. I rented it every weekend when I was at Her house. It wasn't very popular so after about 2 months straight of us going in there the owner of the place just gave it to me. I was ecstatic. I watched it over and over as a girl, and as a teenager. I was 14 when my sister was born in 1991, I would hold her and tell her the story to put her to sleep at night, to give Mom a break. She watched it for the first time when she was about 2 or 3; and she, too, watched it over and over for several years. We were both very upset when it disappeared one day. I have searched and searched for another copy, we had kind of worn ours out anyway. I really hope it is re-released on DVD. They re-released Labyrinth, Legend, and Dark Crystal, why not this one? Please re-release it? I have a little sister in law now and she needs to watch it. I can't find a rental copy anywhere.I would try and talk them out of it if I found one. I really hope they release it again.

Summary: A Classic Tale and an Animated Delight
Review: This epic tale about the legend of the unicorn brings out the child at heart in any adult and the bright-eyed wonder in our youth. The musical score by the band America adds the contemperary twist to a faery tale. My VHS tape is worn thin and my book is ragged with use.

Summary: One of the best animation films ever!
Review: This movie is one of my all time favorites. I artwork in it is truly amazing! I have never read the book, so I don't know how close it is to the book's story line. However, I have to say that even if this is nothing like the book, it is still unbelievable. I love the detail and the depth they go into the characters. I also love who ever does the voice for the unicorn. My favorite part is the ending, with the end song. It was so beautiful! I nearly cried. I hope everyone gets a chance to see this movie!

Summary: This is such a cool animated film!!!
Review: and if you don't like it, you [stink]. Nagging mothers complain that it shouldn't have been rated G because of some extremely mild cursing. But, it really added to the movie and story.
This had a beautiful story and message, even though it ended sadly.
But what was even sadder was the fact that the very very cool Molly McGrue got together with the really really dorky freaky magician Schmenderik (with a nose the size of a casaba melon). Alas, that is the only bad part of the movie. But it is still really good, and you should totally see it, dude! So what are you wating for? GO OUT AND BUY IT!!

Summary: A beautiful story for kids of all ages
Review: I remember watching this movie when I was young and thought it was the most beautiful animated tale I have ever seen, and I still think that way. The story is about a lone unicorn (voiced by Mia Farrow) who leaves her enchanted forest in search of others just like her. No mortal can see her for what she truely is, except a grisled old mystic who captures her for her midnight carney of oddities and a bumbling magician called Shmendrick who releases her and helps her find the other unicorns. She encounters other strange people in her travels, including a dangerous Red Bull, who according to legend, forced all of the unicorns into the sea.

This movie might not have the same drawing techniques as the animation of today (looks more like The Hobbit), but it certainly makes up for it with a full talented cast, including Jeff Bridges, and a wonderfully whimsical story line. I bought it and played it for my kids, and they love it. I can assure you that you'll love it too.
