Review: This movie was bomb! I 've rented the video game Sonic Jam and I saw the preview. Then I heard about the movie on amazon and I fainted. The voices were pretty good, all except for tails. Oh, and by the way, Sara is NOT the hyper metal sonic.

Summary: Not quite what I had in mind.
Review: This movie was not what I expected but entertaining none-the-less. The voice acting for Sonic and Tails was so bad that I had to switch the audio to Japanese and turn on the English subtitles (DVD version). The animation was really close to the kiddy version of the TV cartoon but it was still within the feel of the game so I won't complain too much about it.

Summary: An insult to the original video games.
Review: This film isn't new, was actually made a few years ago and has presumably been dragged out now to cash in on the new Dreamcast game 'Sonic Adventure'. The plot concerns Sonic's ever-present enemy Dr Robotnik, who tricks the blue blur (or whatever) into going down into the underworld where a robot copy of Sonic is ready to do battle.Whilst continuous running around and bashing robots might be fine in a video game, it doesn't cut the mustard in a film. The plot is far too thin to stretch to 55 minutes and this results in slow pacing. It's at least better than the Sonic TV series - the characters actualy look like the ones in the video games - but it's still a nonevent. The voice-overs are terrible. Tails sounds like he has a cold throughout the film and Robotnik's accent is laughable - unlike the supposedly hilarious 'humour' elements which only serve to undermine the few serious moments there are. And as for Sara, who spends the film whining, bawling and throwing tantrums - can anybody find a scene in which she is anything other than irritating? Add to this the fact that the animation looks cheap and you have a film which, far from adding to Sonic's appeal, positively detracts from it. Makes you wonder if it was made by Sega's rivals.

Review: I thought the animation was really good, and the dialog was also very funny. The voices that were used threw me off a little at first, but after a couple of minutes I didn't even notice it.

Review: I'm a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. I have been for years. When the Sonic Anime finally came out in Canada, my heart skipped a beat. I've had the movie for 4 days and I've already seen it 7 times!! Even if your not a big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I still highly recommend it. It's funny, witty, and, in my opinion, set on a much higher level of maturity and emotion than the usual U.S.A. Sonic. If you haven't seen it yet, go out and buy it!! Or at least rent it!!!

Summary: This Movie is GREAT!!
Review: I saw the movie and it's great! I saw it over & over! I would've given it 5 stars but the only thing that was "cough" sorry about it was the voices!! Sonic & Tais sounded like they had a cold but, the other voices were good and the storyline is great! And it is definently for all Sonic fans!! Some advise though is to get the DVD version.

Review: The Sonic anime was great for being a 60 minute movie. It doesn't have the greatest story ever but for what it is it's great. I suggest getting the DVD version for the subtitled version because the dub is horrible. Sonic and Tails both sound like they're both plugging their noses.

Summary: not very good VA's
Review: This movie was good. I wasn't too fond ADV's choice for an English Sonic voice though. Tails and Knuckles voicees were a little less than adequate. On the other hand, Eggman(Robotnik) and Sera were done very nicely. The first half of the video with the battle against metal eggman was Great! But the other half of the video was pretty boring. I wish the battles against Metal Sonic was done better. Overall, it's a good OVA(whatever that stands for).
