Review: This DVD was a huge disapointment. It is the worst thing I have ever got from Amazon.com. I cannot believe somebody would sell a DVD with pictures of a book and some kid reading the words. Good grief. My child hated it, however he loves the cat in the hat cartoon.

Summary: "low-impact" introduction to tv/media for non-media kids
Review: We've avoided introducing our two-year old daughter to any regular tv/video watching until recently. We found the videos from this series ideal for a very young, media shielded viewer because they are based on book illustrations, encouraging the viewer to regard each illustration carefully. Our daughter is familiar with all the books and this dvd is very similar to having the book read to her---the pace is the same and there is no quick moving action. I understand why the previous rater doesn't care for the dvd, but that's what makes it perfect for us. We were looking for something paced for a very young, un-media savvy viewer. Actually, I think the adapted illustrations are charming.
