Summary: Can we give ten stars instead!!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
Review: My family loved this movie!!!! I took my three and four year old daughters, and they wanted to stay and watch it again and again! Easy for young kids to follow, and they love it!!!

They talked about it over and over, and excitedly checked their closet to find their "monster"!!! If you have any children afraid of the dark, or monsters under their bed or in their closet... then this might be the movie to take them too!!!! Enjoy!! We'll be buying this one!

Summary: Wonderful...better than I expected...
Review: I'm 14 years old and I just saw this for my 8-year-old brother's birthday. Despite having to share the theater with a bunch of annoying little kids, I enjoyed this film immensely, partly because, so did they! The entire thing is thoroughly amusing. There is but one thing it lacks, and that is music. Sure, it has music, but not a song played during the movie that would remind you of the movie. There's the Sulley and Mike song at the end, but I mean there's no music in it like the popular songs in Shrek, which are now associated with Shrek. By the time the end song came on most people had left. Now, as to the Shrek VS Monsters war, I must say that I saw and was pleased with both. However, Monsters, Inc. had only one shortcoming, and I believe it is a better movie than Shrek. The plot I knew before seeing the movie was this: Monsters, Inc. is a power plant. They scare kids to collect their screams to convert into electrical energy. This job is dangerous because kids are poisonous to monsters. Accidentally, Sulley and Mike allow a human child into their world. I wondered if they could make a whole long movie out of this; would it get dull? Nope! The concept of the monsters' huge door storage space, where the doors to every child's closet in the world are transported on sliding metal bars and hung up in order, so they can be entered by the scarers, is interesting. The characters are quite splendid creations. James P. Sullivan "Sulley" is the big purple-n-blue guy, and Mike Wazowski is his green, one-eyed scare assistant. Those two are voiced by...well, you know who they're voiced by!!! Waternoose is the fat ugly boss, and I knew there was something fishy about him from the start. He's not bad-bad, but ya know..he's not really good..anyway, Celia is pretty, in a monstrous way. Her rattlesnake hair is neat. She's Mike's girlfriend. He seems to be the only one with one. She seems to be the only girl. Randall is a chameleon-type thing and a cool villain. (I tend to like bad guys. He's not that bad, honestly; sure, he's willing to kill Sulley to take his place as #1. But he does want to revolutionize the scare industry with the scream extractor.) Don't get me wrong, I like Sulley and Mike and everybody...except maybe Waternoose and even he's not SO ugly...and there's no killing in the movie...actually he probably wouldn't have killed him...I just think...well, I don't know what I think. Let's just move on. Boo is THE least likable character. She's not cute. She's annoying! A little brat! Perhaps I just wasn't particularly fond of young kids that day, but my opinion of Boo isn't high! (...) GREAT MOVIE!

Summary: Simply Wonderful
Review: Every once in a while, there comes a movie which every person, regardless of age, should see. Monsters, Inc. is one such movie. The movie follows two monster friends who work for a company designed to scare kids. This is because the city functions off the power generated by screams. However, the monsters are just as afraid of the children, for kids are thought to be poisonous. One of the beauties of this film is that it will allow kids to come to terms with the fear of things in the closet, and yet it is still entertaining to all who see it. Billy Crystal brings the laugh-out-loud humor while John Goodman provides the heart and soul of the movie. Along with it comes a villain, voiced by Steve Buscemi, who is the epitamy of slimy. In fact, he is a slithering lizard that can appear and disappear at will, proving that these things can be creepy even to adults. The best part of this film is that, no matter what state you come to see it, you will leave with a smile on your face and a joy not often given to us by movies. This is a movie to warm the heart, the spirit, and the corners of your mouth, not to mention your stomach as you laugh.

Summary: The Greatest Monster Movie Ever!
Review: The best movie out in a long time! I thought Toy Story was fantastic, but this the new household favorite. Best thing Disney ever did was team up with Pixar. Disney has been the master-mind behind so many great movies, but they just keep getting better and better. This movie will make you laugh and cry. A movie for the whole family. My three year old son is in love with Boo. Can't wait to go back to the theater this weekend. Better yet, can't wait for the video to come out! It is truly the perfect monster movie for children!

Summary: Excellent Movie
Review: I absolutely loved this movie! I saw it with my 3 and 4 year olds who also loved it. We saw Shrek when it was released and it somehow didn't hold their attention like Monsters did. Even I didn't want to break for a minute. I will definately buy this when it is released. The characters were so adorable, it was just a really sweet movie. If you haven't seen it already....GO WATCH IT!!!

Summary: Very Funny,Touching, and Original!
Review: Monsters Inc., Pixar's 4th Film is a wonderful, touching, and hilarious adventure.
Mike and Sully are the best team that gets the screams at Monsters Inc. Although Mike may not be as big as he thinks. The monster world needs screams of children to get their supply of energy. So the workers of Monsters Inc. must supply that.
This film is very funny. The humor is not just kiddy humor as well. The animation is wonderful. The story is very orginal and moving. This is a movie that kids and adults will enjoy equally on the same level. Pixar has not made a bad film yet and I doubt they ever will.

Summary: Don't Let "A Bug's Life" Bite....
Review: Although "Monsters, Inc." certainly is a worthwhile movie, I think it would be stretching things a bit to label it a great one. Kids will eat it up, I'm sure; but as an adult viewer, I couldn't help but feel that it simply didn't measure up to other animated titles, especially "A Bug's Life."
I think another reason I wasn't bowled over by "Monster's, Inc." was that it was COMPLETELY OVERSHADOWED by the animated short,"For The Birds," that played immediately before it.

Summary: We Scare Because We Care!
Review: A vivid and very enjoyable romp about toy monsters who are scared silly when a curious two year-old girl (humorously named Boo) wrecks havoc upon entering their world. The ensuing chaos yields more slapstick than actual plot, but strong visuals and imaginative gags prove strong enough to support this 84-minute funfest. The folks at Pixar Films (Toy Story and A Bug's Life) continue to push the boundaries of computer generated animation. The splendid city of Mostropolis and the Monsters, Inc. factory are so vast and stunningly detailed, it's easy to forget they are indeed products of animation. The best visuals, however, are the special doors which magically transport the monsters to childrens closets, tropical paradises and blizzard infested mountains. Of course, stunning visuals alone can't keep a film afloat. No worries here as the lead characters are quite lovable and eventually steal the show. Most charming are a one-eyed green blob named Mike (voice of Billy Crystal) and big hairy Sulley (John Goodman) who is allegedly the scariest monster in town. Mike and Sulley prove to be anything but scary as they befriend little Boo while the rest of Monstropolis is aghast at the prospect of human invasion. It's an ironic twist-- one which works well as Mike and Sulley spend the duration of the film attempting return Boo to the safety of her bedroom. Pixar pulls out all visual stops as the trio make their exciting mad dash for the human world. Overall, great animation, fun characters and excellent voice casting (listen for Jennifer Tilley, Steve Buscemi and James Coburn) make "Monsters, Inc." one of the more creative and fun releases of the year.

Summary: Excellent film from start to finish
Review: (...)

Monsters enchants from beginning to end. I've seen the film 3 times now and marvel at the fine acting of all the characters. The voices are great, too! The intricate plot and lack of cynical irony that has permeated most recent animated features makes this truly the best animated feature since "Toy Story 2." GREAT WORK, PIXAR.

Summary: IMAGINATIVE
Review: With the same high-octane craftsmanship as their other computer-generated smash hits (Toy Story, Toy Story 2, etc.), Pixar's newest twisted fairy tale is as thrilling visually as any of the others. Billy Crystal and John Goodman are a winning pair of monsters who find themselves embroiled in a complicated plot that involves a child and some slithery villians. The conceit of monsters using children's closets as a portal to collect their screams is clever, and milked for maximum visual impact, not to mention humor. But the movie does not take you over the top -- it does not share the wild exuberance and joy of the other Pixar films. Still, children will enjoy this one too, and beware -- there are more than a few scary seconds -- little ones in the theatre will definitely provide the monsters with those screams they seek.
