Summary: Reasons for delays
Review: The third season is definitely where the Simpsons entered what we think of as the golden years. Whatever is in this set will be wonderful. As for the delays, when I spoke to writer Mike Reiss, he said that they had to find a new company to master the DVDs. They were upset at defects (which people have complained about) and made this one better by using a different company, which caused delays. So just sit tight. It'll get better.

Summary: The Waiting [Stinks]!!!!
Review: Ok, I'm with paul...I am absolutely disgusted with the fact that we are basically getting one season per year! I am so bloody mad about this i almost don't want to buy the third season!! And that is saying a lot considering this was the first season that the Simpsons became really funny. I would urge every true Simpsons fan to write or email or call FOX and tell them to get their [act] together--and by the way...the four stars are for the episodes contained within and not the behavior of the people at FOX.

Summary: Simpson's Are 3 For 3...
Review: Season 3 is at least as good as each of its two prior seasons. The writing is just as sharp - if not sharper. 24 story's that are just as funny. Great all-star actors joining the cast and voicing their talents. Seaosn 3 finds Homer's crudeness and Bart''s crankiness truly blossoming. The animation is in superb form after vast and continued improvements from the first season. The supporting Springfield characters continued to grow & develop. Many memorable lines: "Styrofoam is not made from kittens." "Lyndon Johnson did not provide the voice of Yosemite Sam." "Roy Rogers was not buried inside his horse." "The other U.F.O. was an upside-down salad spinner." "Everything is 10% fruit juice." "The flesh-eating virus does not hide in ice cream." As far as long running TV shows go... only Saturday Night Live has been on the air longer. Hail "Simpson's" and their creative staff for being the longest running half hour sit-com on TV - ever.

Episodes (24) in order:
- Stark Raving Dad (with Michael Jackson)
- Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington
- When Flanders Failed: "The Leftorium"
- Bart The Murderer: Bart in the Mob
- Homer Defined: The local hero
- Like Father Like Clown: Krusty reunites with his Rabbi father
- Treehouse Of Horror II
- Lisa's Pony: Homer buys Lisa's love
- Saturdays Of Thunder: Bart & Homer build a soap box racer
- Flaming Moe's (with Aerosmith)
- Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk
- I Married Marge: Flashback episode of Homer's marriage
- Radio Bart: The boy (Bart) trapped in the well
- Lisa The Greek: Homer and Lisa start watching football
- Homer Alone: All goes wrong at home when Marge goes on a vacation
- Bart The Lover: Answering Edna's personal ad
- Homer At The Bat: The power plant softball game 'bet'
- Separate Vocations
- Dog Of Death: Santa's Little Helper gets sick
- Colonel Homer: Homer becomes manager to a country singer
- Black Widower: Sideshow Bob gets out of prison & marries Selma
- The Otto Show: Otto moves in with the Simpsons
- Bart's Friend (Milhouse) Falls In Love
- Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?: Herb's new invention

Great 4 pack of DVD's with lots of extras... Two issues: 1.) There are 4 discs, and that's 3 extra times you have to get up off the sofa... can't they fit all this stuff onto 1 or 2 discs? and, 2.) What is taking Twentieth Century Fox so long in releasing these early seasons?

Summary: The best season
Review: Although this DVD set is shipping later than expected, the wait will be worth it. The 3rd season is arguably the best season the Simpsons ever had. The episodes during this season put the current offerings to shame. Expect crisp and sharp images as the first two seasons looked fantastic on DVD. And for the people who complain about having to hit the "Play" button three times for the 2nd Season to get to the main screen, you can just hit menu button and it will take you there.

Summary: The Time Has Come
Review: Finally! The Third Season of the Simpsons has been in production for over a year now, and it will finally be available in August. The creaters of the show have said that the reason it takes so long to put out each season on DVD is because they have to split time between producing the new episodes on television and refinishing the old ones for release. Who cares now?! It's time to enjoy one of the best seasons of the Simpsons yet, the year in which the main characters ultimately take shape and the focus shifts from Bart to Homer. Plus they take some gentle jabs at organized religion. Mmmmhhh...Sacrilarious!

Summary: August 26th? Come on now!
Review: Unlike other reviewers, I love the commentary and extras on these DVDs. If I just wanted the episodes, I could tape all of the reruns (I have taped over 200 episodes already). Commentary and extras is why I buy these. Sound and picture quality and I guess ease of episode access are all advantages of the DVD version of these episodes but without the extras I probably wouldn't buy them. Leaving that aside, I do think that things could be sped along as far as getting these guys in the studio to do the commentary. Having to wait 8-10 months between releases is kind of ridiculous because I'll be an old man before they're all released, especially since the Simpsons is still going strong.

All of that aside, I can't wait for season 3 to come out. I've looked at all of the episodes of this season, and I have to say that season 3 is among the best of them. "Homer at the Bat" is one of my all time favorites: "Woohoo! In your face Strawberry!"

Anyway, Fox needs to keep producing these DVDs with the extras, but couldn't they do it a little faster?

Summary: Good, but worth waiting
Review: Season 3 is good, and starts to bring in the humour and fun one sees in the simpsons from seasons 3-9 [the good years]. Makes for some interesting TV- and with TV channels showing the older ones less and less in exchange for newer seasons, it becomes worthwhile to have.

However, I (as well as many) speculate that there will be some form of box set which will save you loads of money. Otherwise, at 35USD a pop, you're spending a lot of cash on simpsons DVDs- which you probably won't watch nearly as often after the first time.
It's a collectors item though- so wait for some form of box set.

Summary: Give them a break!
Review: Hey, give these guys a break! They're making great shows these days while spending time on the commentary for you whiners who complain that they're not going at your personal pace!! Each series has been great, and if you have just an iota of patience, you'll get what you want. Thanks to everyone on The Simpsons for spending time for your fans.

Summary: Specs for August Release
Review: According to an article at ComingSoon.net and backed up by the release date here, the third season will see the light of day in August of this year. Features include commentaries (all episodes), a discussion on the animation featuring Groening and Brooks, a taped reading from Treehouse of Horror II, promos, and a music "jukebox" featuring 11 songs. I'm just guessing on the stars thing. I'm sure it won't be perfect.
