Summary: Check out Matts Letter in Simpsons Season 1
Review: I Think I know why it is taking so long to get the Simpsons out on DVD. Matt Groening Wrote it himself(We've got more Simpsons episodes to make, then broadcast, then re-run, than chope up for Syndication, then sell to you on DVD. But You know something we wouldn't have it any other way!) This was a Quote from The simpsons Season 1 on DVD. There is know reson Fox can't get more out per year I already have Season 1-7 of the X Files I am just wating for the simpsons Thanks :}

Summary: Advantage...Burns!
Review: This season is a great one. Bart is still a main focus of the show and Homer is starting to turn the tide. There are several classic episodes including "Radio Bart" (Homer - Oh, there's only one can of beer left and it's Barts), "Bart the Lover" (Homer - Dear Baby, Welcome to Dumpville. Population: You), and "Homer at the Bat" (Homer - I play right field too, so, are you better than me). These are just a few great moments from The Simpsons. This is a must have for any serious fan. I would buy every season right now if they were all available. Well, you can't go wrong with cocktail weenies. They taste as good as they look, and they come with this delicious red sauce, it looks like ketchup, it tastes like ketchup, but brother, it aint ketchup.

Summary: You must own them all !
Review: If your a true Simpsons fan you must own all of these season's. A die hard fan wants it all even if season's 1 & 2 aren't as funny as the rest, they are history and in a few years they will be hard to find. So own them now or forever hold you piece.

Season three is when they started to have some flare in their episodes. My favorite from the 3rd season has to be Flaming Moe's. I am not going to describe all the episodes because just about every last person on this site has already done that.

Summary: Can't wait until season 4 comes out next year!
Review: Most would agree that this is the beginning of the "golden age" of Simpson episodes with some classics. So, there's nothing new i can tell who haven't already seen them all. But, i recently sat down with Matt Groening, Al Jean, and Mike Reiss (yeah, right) and they told me the seasons have been taking so long to come out because they like to sit and remember the good old days during their commentaries (very entertaining in my opinion Mike Reiss is hilarious and Al Jean has such a distinct voice that he could probably voice a character himself) so it wouldn't make sense to come out with new seasons every 6 months or so since they would catch up soon. So everyone just hold on and wait until next August (probably even later) of next year when season 4 comes out. blah, blah, blah, .....your still reading this??

Review: [THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE EPISODES DIRECTLY, NOT THE DVD ITSELF, AS IT HAS NOT BEEN CURRENTLY RELEASED. WHEN THE ITEM IS RELEASED I WILL POST A REVIEW FOR THE SET IN ITS ENTIRETY]
By the time the Third Season of The Simpsons rolled around, the characters and animation style had been fully developed. The first season was more like a standard sitcom than later Simpsons seasons, only it was animated. The second season used more experimental storylines. And of course, with the third season came pure excellence. The animators/writers had finally figured out the best ways to use the characters, and had come up with excellent storylines. Read on for brief episode summaries:

-Stark Raving Dad: Homer is thrown in a mental institution with a fat guy who thinks he's Michael Jackson.

-Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington: Lisa wins a local essay contest and is sent to Washington DC to participate in the national finals, but loses faith in democracy when seeing a senator taking a bribe.

-When Flanders Failed: Ned opens up a store that sells nothing but left-hand items. The store is a complete flop.

-Bart The Murderer: Bart begins working for the Springfield mob, and is soon arrested for Principal Skinner's supposed murder.

-Homer Defined: Homer pushes a random button and averts a meltdown at the power plant. He becomes a local hero.

-Like Father Like Clown: Bart and Lisa plot ways to reunite Krusty the Clown and his father, a Jewish rabbi.

-Treehouse Of Horror II: Bart, Lisa, and Homer all eat too much candy, and have three nightmares.

-Lisa's Pony: Homer, thinking Lisa doesn't love him, buys her a pony. This forces Homer to take two jobs.

-Saturdays Of Thunder: Bart and Homer build a soap box racer together for an upcoming race, but when Martin Prince is injured beyond racing condition, Bart decides to use his racer instead.

-Flaming Moe's: Moe steals credit for a beverage Homer invented, and it turns his bar into one of Springfield's most happening places.

-Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk: Mr. Burns sells the power plant to Germans, and Homer is laid off.

-I Married Marge: Flashback episode in which Homer retells the story of how he and Marge got married.

-Radio Bart: With his new radio, Bart tricks the town into thinking there is a boy trapped in a well. He falls down the well trying to recover the radio, and becomes trapped himself.

-Lisa The Greek: Homer and Lisa start watching football together. Lisa isn't aware Homer is just using her to win bets.

-Homer Alone: Marge goes on a vacation. Homer stays home and loses Maggie, while Bart and Lisa stay with Patty and Selma.

-Bart The Lover: After getting lengthy detention, Bart decides to play the ultimate prank on his teacher - answering her personal ad, with a fake name and picture.

-Homer At The Bat: Mr. Burns challenges his Shelbyville rival to a power plant softball game bet. To ensure a victory, Burns gets major leaguers to join his team.

-Separate Vocations: After an intelligence test, Bart becomes interested in law enforcement and becomes a hall monitor, while Lisa falls in with the bad girls of her school.

-Dog Of Death: Santa's Little Helper gets very sick, and the family must pay for an expensive operation. Eventually the monetary sacrifices take their toll on the family.

-Colonel Homer: Homer becomes manager to a country singer, making Marge extremely jealous.

-Black Widower. Sideshow Bob gets out of prison and marries Selma. Selma is unaware he is plotting to kill her and take her money.

-The Otto Show: Otto loses his bus driver license and moves in with the Simpsons. At the DMV, he meets Patty and Selma and discovers the three have one thing in common - their hatred for Homer Simpson.

-Bart's Friend Falls In Love: Milhouse falls for the new girl in school, and Bart gets jealous that the two don't spend time together anymore.

-Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?: Herb comes to the Simpson house, to try to talk Homer into loaning him the money for the invention that will make him rich again - a baby translator.

The third season of the Simpsons in 5-star material, all the way. When this DVD is released (FOX is notoriously slow with releasing DVDS), I'm gonna get a copy FAST. Fellow Simpsons fans, I suggest you do the same.

Summary: When the Simpsons strated to really get good
Review: The third season of the Simpsons is the first one that i can go back and watch over and over again. the first 2 seasons were pretty lackluster in retrospect, and rarely funny. season 2 had some good moments, but season 1 is really pretty unwatchable, except for nostalgic purposes. the third season, however, is when the show really began to shine. it is not perfect, but most of the episodes are quite funny, and some (like 'burns verkaufen der kraftwerk', 'radio bart' and a few more) are some of the best episodes ever. I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 only because in comparison to season 4 thru 8, season 3 is not quite as good. although compared to just about every other show on tv, it is worthy of a 5. Really, this is the first 'must-own' season of the simpson's to be released, and is well worth the purchase. here are the episodes in thie season:
Stark Raving Dad
Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington
When Flanders Failed
Bart The Murderer
Homer Defined
Like Father Like Clown

Treehouse Of Horror II
Lisa's Pony
Saturdays Of Thunder
Flaming Moe's
